Best

I love this place . It's a great time I've been coming here for about 15 yrs. I would bring anyone that wants to have a good time.

Worst

I wasn't sure what to expect...you need a lot of energy for this place. I went out with 8 friends & was annoyed most of the time. The waitress was all over us for our orders as ...

I don't like sushi, but this place is totally bonkers and a wacky fun time. It's like an electric parade of flashing lights, singing waiters, and Japanese booze. more

Unprofessional 10/25/2010

From the security to the atmosphere it was great. We were actually disrespected by the Owner of the restaurant. As we walk in, there was no sign that indicated no caps allowed. We waited in the next room for us to go in, we looked at pictures with guys with caps.(baseball hats) As we were inside for more than an hour the owner told my husband to take off his hat, as he looked around 4 to 5 gentlemen had it on. As my husband tried talking to the owner, he ignored us. Finally when he came over he had a nasty attitude. My husband i decided to leave. as we walk outside the owner followed us and started calling my husband a Bitch and that he was his Bitch. Also he said he will Kick is ass .He called him a fat piece of s**t All because we wanted to know why everyone was wearing a hat. Even his security and co-manger look confuse at his request. I have never felt more disrespected as we did that day. I would not recommend that place unless they change management. As we were walking away he kept screaming at my husband. Even people around were surprise when they found out he was the owner and how unprofessional he was acting. He stated he was the owner! more

Horrible!!!!! 8/17/2010

Be conversational: Write as if relaying your experience to a good friend. \r \r Be thorough: Mention your favorite products or services offered by this business, such as menu items, home delivery or spa treatments. \r \r Be local: Identify the neighborhood where the business is located and mention nearby attractions when relevant.Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!! NOthing else can explain!!! I have been going to Tokyo Delves for last few years and every time the service gets worse and worse. Last weekend we had a friend come from Atlanta and it was his birthday night...We made reservations a week and a half prior..We paid $80 to take a taxi to make sure no one drives drunk..Show up wait in line, check in, get wristband and then they tell us to wait on the side...we were only a party of 4! They let every single person in before us and shut the door in our face. Soooo disrespectful...No explanation as to why. We asked for a manager they told us ""oh he was just here but hes not anymore..hes inside now"" We were shocked!!!! The group of 6 behind us paid off one of the security and they had NO RESERVATIONS!!!! That is sad...I was not expecting exceptional customer service here...being the drunken, wild place it is..but come on...To watch a pay off happen and be disrespected in front of our out of town guest...Its a shame...I will never ever go to this restaurant/bar again. I also have a huge network I have shared this story with, who also agree. GO BACK TO OLD MANAGEMENT!!! Cause the current one stinks! more

There is no comparison! 9/28/2009

This was a BLAST!! let me start by getting the negative's out of the way... yes you may have a reservation for 10:30pm but you might not get in until a 1/2 hour afterward. The food is so-so to tell you the truth I don't remember much about the food due to ALL the Sake Bombs we had. Note to future guests EAT the food! We paid $30.00+ per person for the food ALONE and I think we had A LOT of food left... but as I said we were so busy drinking we didn't get around to really eating all of the food they put out. Parking is mainly street or there are some lots near there but you will still have to walk to the restaurant. BEWARE Lots of cops driving around in fact be SURE to have a DD or have them arrange cab service for you because the cops were hovering outside while we were in line to go inside. Bouncers/Door people were nice to me but I do think they can BE aggressive when needed. There were 2 fights while we were there but the staff was on it by mili-seconds! Our bill was over $1k so come prepared and a rule of thumb was just to budget $100.00 per person if you are coming with a drinking crowd... My New England Patriots group likes beer just like the rest of America's Sports Fans! The pluses this was a REALLY fun place, we sang, we danced, we sang some more... I think it is perfect for Bachelor/ettes Parties, Birthday celebrations. If you can't get to Vegas when someone is turning 21 take them here this was great. Because you are ""banging"" the table when you do the Sake Bombs I would warn females do NOT wear anything you might not want Beer spilled on. Also there were some tables that dressed up with Feodora's and leis it was a BLAST! Respectfully Reviewed Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun! Cons: Parking, The start time of your reservation more

OK... 3/25/2009

I wasn't really impressed at all with this place. If im in Hollywood already, ima just go ahead and go to Club Sushi Pros: GOOD SERVICE Cons: MEDIOCRE EVERYTHING ELSE more

good food 2/9/2009

The food is good here but servers could be little more better. I used to go weekly with my co-workers they like the food very much, but serves too slow !! ***!! Pros: serves more

A hyperactive fun night out 12/23/2008

If you’re looking for a quite night out go somewhere else. This place is loud, non-stop fun. They let us in at about 10:30 and kicked us out at around 12:30, so it felt like being at the center of a whirlwind of energy for a couple of hours and being hurled out into the quiet dark night at the other end, I could still feel the energy buzzing, like the hum of silence in your ears after the music was turned off. Different waiters kept visiting our table every once in a while and joined us dancing near our table, they had fun with us but weren’t pushy when one of us felt like just sitting a song out quietly. They let you be. The interior is not impressive, it felt like someone tried to make club out of their basement by painting the walls black, but it doesn’t really matter, it actually fit well with the cheesy music, disco dancing, the N’SYNC wannabe waiters and sushi chef’s act, Sake bombs and the rest of the craziness that they condense into two hyperactive hours. Great place for a celebration with a large group. Pros: no place like it for wacky fun Cons: minimum food order requirement more

Fun, Fun, Fun 11/10/2008

I love this place. And the food is decent; all my friends and I were satisfied whether it was sushi or beef /chicken teriyaki. But yes, the main draw is the entertainment. This is not a place for people who take themselves too seriously, who are restrained and shy, or can't simply let loose and be silly once in a while. The whole restaurant drinks and dances together, and the waiters put on insanely high-energy, outlandish performances. And as far as the cancellation policy goes, they inform you of all that in advance. Ultimately, drunken fun is had by all. more

Go Drink, don't eat! 7/21/2008

We heard about this place from a friend so I decided to have my boyfriends birthday there ... IT WAS TONS OF FUN!!! we're all naturally a bunch of goofballs so this joint felt like home!!! You're allowed to sing an dance while standing on your chair, cheer as loud as you can, and spill some beer ... so long as you're chugg'n the rest down! \r \r I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! the servers are super cool and the drinks are plentiful. The food tho ... eh, if it's a small group you don't have to worry too much about it but if you have a large group like we did ... it get's super pricy and the food isn't worth it at all! \r \r Try it tho ... you'll love it! Pros: the crowd, cheap drinks, the music Cons: food, parking (unless you do valet) more

Functions as intended 5/27/2008

Don't go for the food. Go if you want to drink a lot of sake and watch/ do some silly stuff and just let loose. Personally, I thought it was fun. Pros: Rowdy good time Cons: The food... more

NOT what you might expect... 4/16/2008

The first time I went to this place was for a birthday. I was expecting sushi, and live entertainment. Little did I know, we would be our own source of entertainment. The food, as others have said, is horrible. You know those fake display sushi's at restaurants? It felt like I was eating those. But, I later found one doesn't come here for the food... rather, they come to get wasted on cheap beer and sake (can you say ""sake bomb""?), and just have a good time. I know I did... Though I payed a visit to my good friend ""in-n-out"" afterwards. Pros: Cheap beer and sake, Great environment for Parties Cons: The ""food"" more

Unfair cancellation policy Rude Host 11/16/2007

My friends and I had visited this place before and decided we would like to go back for the ""atmosphere"" than the food which was overpriced and sub-par. We made a reservation on thursday night and were unable to make the friday night reserve when we called to cancel we were told we WOULD UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES recieve our deposit..(yes they make you leave a credit card) when I explained my situation I was met with rudeness and zero understanding ...he said it was a 24 hr cancellation policy but we made our reservations only the night before...less than 24 hrs til our actual reservation if you want the customer is number one feeling promised on their website...go somewhere else I am Dissappointed in this place and the people they choose to handle their customer service!!! Not to mention they do not split checks and you must buy 20 dollars in food per person and the ""KEG"" of Japanese beer is small not full and not very good! more

Never Again 9/8/2007

I wasn't sure what to expect...you need a lot of energy for this place. I went out with 8 friends & was annoyed most of the time. The waitress was all over us for our orders as soon as we walked in the door. My drink came 20 mins after ordered & after my salad - which had a hair in it. The food was below average (chicken teriaki) but my friends liked their sushi. The waitress was constantly trying to ""upsell"" us. If you go, print out a coupon first. Be prepared not to have a conversation with your neighbor & to be picked on for contests & you are begged for bartender tips. I guess it is good for the 20 something crowd or you must be drunk before you enter. I won't be going back. Pros: Good if you are young or drunk Cons: food, service more

A lot of fun and really good food 1/22/2007

These guys put on a show! And it starts as soon as you walk through the door. This is a great place to go when you have some long-time-no-see friends in from out of town or first time visitors to LA and you just want to really shock them into having a good time. The music is on, the waiters are singing and dancing and even the elderly sushi chefs are bopping their heads to the music - and the food is good too.\r \r If you haven't been, let your hair down bring some people and treat yourself to a great time that's much better than any snooty club can give you. more

good service/ average food 12/14/2006

Tokyo delves is a great place to pary hard and have good times with friends and family... the entertainment is great.... think of chucky cheese for adults.... the food is ok, (nobody goes there for the great menu) and a little pricey. We especially loved our waiter Alex... he has been fantastic for many years... and why we come back so many times. Great place for birthdays and a good place to cut loose in los angeles. There is NO place like this place in Los Angeles. I reccomend it to all my friends. Pros: good service, fun entertainment Cons: average sushi more

Not worth the time or money 8/26/2006

The place looks like a gentlemens club from the outside. From the inside, it looks like a Chucky Cheese with Christmas lights hanging off the walls. I understand why some reviewers said ""eat before you go""--the food is absolutely disgusting. But the entertainment is terrible as well (i.g. guys in hawaiian shirts lip singing to NSYNC). I'm sure you can have fun there after a drinking a lot, but that's true for anyplace. Save youself the money and go somewhere that isn't stuck in the 80's. Pros: ???? Cons: Food, entertainment, ambience more

Girls just wanna have fun 3/25/2006

I went to Tokyo Delves for my friends B-day and had a blast. Yes, it's cheesy and loud and crazy but that's what makes it fun. The staff was great especially Forrest our waiter!! If you want great sushi go to KAtana you won't find it here, but if you want to have a party and let loose ....go on to Tokyo Delves. You will not be disappointed. Not For couples...it's a large group environment Pros: Fun, Fun , Fun Cons: The bill after , too many , sake bombs more

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 1/2/2006

The Ugly: My initial thought was the place was an old theater (possibly adult), but once I was inside I definitely thought ""strip club"". The drab black walls, christmas lights with 7 cords coming out of 1 outlet plugged into the ceiling and the heating duct that looked like it was on its last gasp of air wasn't the most appealing sight. The Bad: Sushi preparation, or sushi shari (rice). This place is the epitomy of chewy unedible mass's of bubble gum sushi. The GOOD!! FUN!, if your idea of fun is: blarring 80's metal, energetic headset wearing waiters with a good set of lungs shouting ""sake bomb"", NSYNC dance routines, chicken dances, and lot more loud shouting as your trying to eat your food with everybody celebrating birthdays. Also surprisingly on the good side is the kitchen menu. I recommend the tempura, and the sukiyaki. Ultimately, its ""all Good!"" Pros: Drinking, Great for Bday's, FUN!! Cons: sushi preparation, dark scary interior, no strippers more

who likes this place? 12/21/2005

i almost forgot about this crap-hole until i ran across it on a list here. we came here a few years ago for someone's birthday. the decor is completely cheesy (a spaceship coming out of the bar?), the ""sushi"" they serve can barely be called that (try supermarket sushi for fresher food), and the place is LOUD, has crappy music blasting so you can't hear yourself think, and then a bunch of drunk barely-turned-21-year-olds (who obviously need to get out more often) screaming and drinking and trying to dance on the picnic tables. boy, what fun. Pros: bad food, bad atmosphere, drunk "kids" Cons: ?????? more

Tacky and WORTH IT!! 7/23/2005

I went here for the sushi and sake bombing, and left with a full stomach after an amazing time!! The sushi chefs and waiters are HILARIOUS!! Since it was a Monday night when we went with a large group (16 people), the waitstaff basically concentrated on us, but a few couples drifted in and out at the sushi bar. It was SO MUCH FUN! The waiters danced for us, and made us dance as well. The sake bombing was entertaining and the food was teriffic. The parking is in the back, and best of all, it's FREE! Although it was somewhat pricey (most likely due to the large amount of sake we consumed as well as the size of the group), I would totally go back. There is a food minimum, also, so if you are going to sake bomb, be prepared to eat as well. Pros: EXCELLENT SERVICE!!, Large portions, Sake bombing Cons: Dark, Somewhat pricey more
