Tires Plus Total Car Care

I don't trust this store. The service is unreliable. Beware. In the spring I had new tires installed. I just learned from another shop since I don't trust this one that the lug nut is twisted and won't come off without breaking it. That will cost me. They also lost a hub cup for the snow tire rims and refused to help. I was shrugged off. Some of the sales people have not been trained to deal with customers. Others will sell you stuff that you don't need to boast their sales. I understand needing to make money, but they are interested in their bottom line and have alienated me with poor work, costing me more money, trying to sell stuff I don't need, and not handling problems in a caring way for the customer. I would hope Tires Plus on Lake Street can read this and make some changes. They refused to pay to fix my car when they damaged it. I had my exhaust system replaced at the Lake Street Tires Plus location. They installed the tail pipe to close to my bumper and as a result the hot exhaust fumes melted it. The mechanic and manager there acknowledged that the damage was a result of the installation being too close to the bumper and passed the issue on to their corporate office, which refused to pay to have the bumper replaced. Pros: very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Cons: Did not pay for damage they caused on my car. more

I brought a flat tire to Tires Plus and it took them over twice as long as they said to fix it. I was told that there was corrosion in the tire but that they had repaired it. When I went to pick the tire up the attendant wheeled it into the front room and there was still air hissing out of it. He went to double check the tire and found a 3 inch fissure in the inner wall of the tire. I was told it was not fixable and that I would need a new tire. \r \r I can understand that damages to the tire wall aren't fixable but I was shocked that they didn't catch the damage the first time around. Had I not said anything about the hissing tire I would have gotten it all the way home and it would have been flat again.\r \r The staff was not particularly apologetic and the fact that they couldn't find damage when they were LOOKING for it did not inspire any confidence at all. I'm going to assume that it's just this one location of Tires Plus because no company would be so stupid to let something like this happen if they knew about it. I have to keep going back to Tires Plus because I got a "lifetime guarantee" on a set of tires and they keep getting flats (grr). As if that wasn't bad enough I hear them repeatedly tell people "You are putting your life into your hands if you leave without fixing this." They even tried it on me once about something that my mechanic had just gone over the week before. There are lots of other places around there, try Paul Williams or someone else. I did send an email to the website customer service center about it, but never heard back. more

I will admit I am a typical chic when it comes to getting my car fixed. I don't ask questions. I don't challenge estimates or barter for a deal. It should be no surprise that I have never been satisfied and haven't returned to a shop until this one. My first visit was to fix a flat. I initially tried going to the shop down the road but was turned away because they were too busy and closing soon. I walked in and was greeted. The guy working was appalled that the other place turned me away. My tire was fixed and I was informed that I would be needing new tires soon. The guy told me how much tread I had, what the legal amount is and provided me with 3 estimates for tires. About a month later I went in for tires and an oil change. The guy cut me a deal on my tires, I was credited the cost of having my flat fixed and my oil change was $20 cheaper than a previous one at the dealership. I have since been back for an alignment and they provided me with an estimate to get something else fixed. I have been very satisfied with how I have been treated, the work done on my car and what it cost me. I finally found a place where I walk in and out without feeling like an idiot because I know I had been ripped off. I like this place, if nothing else try it out when you are trying to find that decent place too. Pros: Attentive employees, Competitive prices more
