Editorial review from Citysearch 2/5/2014

All my family has been going to Timberline for over 20 years and have always received the best of care for all our animals. Dr. Hitt has never failed to show his love and knowledge. I would recommend Timberline animal hospital to anyone looking for a great vet who doesn't take advantage of loving pet owners. I also want to say that his staff is first rate and follows Dr. Hitt's example. \r more

Superior vet 10/15/2011

I would recommend Timberline animal hospital to anyone looking for a great vet who doesn't take advantage of loving pet owners. I have four pets who see Dr. Hitt and he is a very caring man who is looking to treat animals without doing unnecessary testing and taking advantage of concerned pet owners. He is great with my dog and performed surgery on his knee last year, when the dog was only a year old. He is doing very well and I am so grateful to Dr. Hitt. He is gentle and kind to my cats, who are indoor pets and afraid of being outside of their home. He manages to put them at ease, and in doing so puts me at ease as well. I feel that his prices are fair and he doesn't recommend doing expensive procedures if he doesn't deem them necessary. He doesn't try to force expensive drugs or prescription foods down your throat and is as conscious of your pocketbook as he is of your beloved pet's care. He may seem a bit eccentric at first, but it is obvious he cares about animals and isn' more

Find Another Vet 4/10/2011

I have a new pup and decided to switch vets because we've relocated and Timberline is closest to our home. I am SO sorry I went there as the staff greeted me with an attitude and seemed put out to have to help me. There is a staff worker who looks like she hasn't taken a shower in quite a while, is missing teeth, was wearing flip flops (with dirty feet no less). Her attitude was terrible, she insulted ad nauseum the place in which I purchased my pup (King Neptune) and I should have listened to my inner voice and walked out before I ever got into a room to wait for the vet. \r \r The vet didn't do anything to put my mind at ease that my pup was receiving quality health care. He seemed jittery, talked to himself, laughed at inappropriate moments and just didn't seem "right". \r \r I will NEVER take an animal of mine there. more

Lifetime of Gratitude! 3/8/2011

My dog was a pup when she first started going to Timberline. She was the best dog I could ever ask for, and Timberline gave her the care that she needed all the time. The entire staff was wonderful from the receptionist, to the groomer, and especially Dr. Hitt. He was there from day one with her and, a few months ago when it was her time to go to the big dog park in the sky, he again was there for me. When we were in the room prior to putting her to sleep, they gave me the time to say goodbye, and when Dr. Hitt came in, he gave her a good pet on the head and told her and me he was sorry, we proceded and after, they gave me time to compose myself. They let me take care of bill prior so I didn't have to deal with it when i was upset.\r A few days later I was at home and opening my mail and saw that I had a letter from Timberline. It was a letter with a sentimental story. It eased my troubles. I have always loved timberline but never expected anything like that from them. Its nice to k more

Questionable work & no compassion 9/9/2010

On Aug 28, 2010 I took my 9 yr old white persian (on his bday) to Dr Hitt to have his teeth cleaned & his underbelly groomed. He died!!! Our cat had the required bloodwork done beforehand & he was deemed healthy. I will NEVER know if Frosty had an underlying condition or if it was vet error. What I do know is that not a SINGLE person at that office said "I"m sorry for your loss" or showed an ounce of compassion. They were very "matter of fact" as we were grieving the sudden questionable death of our family member. Also, the day I picked up Frosty's ashes I was very upset & left the office w/o paying ( I ALWAYS pay my bilss & have never had an outstanding balance). I wasn't home 20 mins when the office called & demanded immediate payment. WHAT COMPASSION!!!!\r Dr. Hitt also was paid to microchip our wheaten terrier when he went in to be neutered. A year later our dog got out of our yard & a neighbor found him & took him to a vet to see if he was chipped - HE WAS NOT!!!!!! Dr Hitt "re" ch more

Simply the Best 9/8/2010

I could write a book on every good thing I have to say about Timberline Animal Clinic, but I'll shorten things up. Dr. Hitt is wonderful and so is his staff!! I love the warm feeling of the clinic! Some people look at the building as a older smaller place that is not as fancy as some of the new clinics, but the way I see things is you pay the price for those new buildings and less experienced vets out of your pocket. Dr. Hitt's prices are on the mark, and in this economy while other companies are raising their prices Timberline remains something you can rely on. I also was looking for a groomer and decided to try out their groomer on staff. She was wonderful and took great care of my dog! He looked and smelled wonderful! I literally could not ask for a better place to take care of my babies! Just as I said before they are simply the best around! more

peace of mind 5/14/2010

Dr. Hitt and the staff at Timberline care for our 9 yr. old Alaskan Huskey when we are out of town because Dr. Hitt is\r also our Vetenarian we have peace when Dakota is there.\r She has her own run and even though she has seperation issues doesn't put up much of a fuss when we drop her off.\r Dr.Hitt and his staff always show love and compassion towards Dakota. They get our vote. more

An answer to our prayers 3/18/2010

Our dog got hit by a car. A good samaritan took her to a vet in the area as the dog got out while I was not at home. She was given xrays and bandage for her disjointed leg and we were sent an animal hospital in Aurora. We were charged almost $1000 total in less than three hours and then harassed for more expensive surgery. We did not agree to surgery as it was explained that the dog would heal at a slower rate with out surgery. Once we returned home the hospital called the the vet and decided that if we were not going to get the surgery we would have to have the dogs splint changed every 2 days for $57 each time. We simply could not afford this. Then this vet offered us a bargain deal on an amputation. We went to Timberline. The Dr. put a better splint on our dog and told us she should come back in two weeks. The price was right. The dogs legs is getting stronger and the other vet called back to see if we were neglecting our dog because we did not use their services. Thanks to Timberl more

Not happy with Timberline 2/19/2010

I left this vet, I was not thrilled with Dr. Hitt. The vet's assistant was really nice. I felt she really liked dogs. I could never get my questions answered about my dogs condition from Dr. Hitt, he just wanted me to come back in and do more expensive test. I was charged for a vet visit and he did a visual inspection of the dog, didn't bother checking him out to find the real problem. I am searching for a new vet. more

Timberline Animal Hospital saved my dogs life 6/16/2009

We have been going to Dr Hitt for over 14 years (5 dogs later). In that time one of my dogs got hit by a car--her nose literally got knocked off. It was a Saturday afternoon-we rushed her to the clinic--Dr Hitt performed emergency surgery on her--stayed with her/checked on her every hour or so throughout the night as it was touch and go. He even had to call vet colleges regarding our dogs case because he had never seen one like it before--it was the best nose job you have ever seen. Our dog lived another 8 years before she had to be put to sleep--yes, we took her to Dr Hitt. She had had a stroke and was paralized--she weighed over 140 pounds--rather than make her go through the agony of getting her out of our truck and wheeled into the office, Dr and his assistant came out to us to do it--they calmed her and pet her to put her at ease. Dr Hitt saved Kiki's life and when it was time for her to go, he was there to put her out of her pain, for which I will be forever grateful. more

Commendable! 5/14/2009

My family and I have taken our loved animals to this vet clinic for over 25 years and agree with most of the positive reviews written on here! I feel that Dr. Hitt has a caring heart and has taken it upon himself to try his hardest for our animals and while our animals may have either pre-conditions or later natural developed conditions is out of our control. I would rather have a veterinarian that is always there for me and my little ones when I need them to be cared for and he has done this and much more! I truly appreciate everything that he has done for my family and animals he deserves more thanks that what he recieves! \r I feel that a few bad experiences is not something that should be more heavily relied upon versus those who have had years of positive experiences. more

wonderful. absolutley wonderful. 12/27/2008

The staff there are so friendly and nice. The doctor really knows what he is doing. We have been taking our dogs there for over fifteen years. I love going there, everytime it is a positive experiance. Although it is not the most modern clinic around, I think it is the best one I've ever been to. Lovely people, good prices, and they are great with the animals. I would never take my babies any where else. more

Great Expierence 8/20/2008

I was referred to Timberline from my roommate. She had told me that the price is right and the doc was wonderful. I took my 2 boxer girls there and I have to say that I was very pleased with my experience. Everyone that I came in contact with was really pleasant. Just the other day I had to call about a situation that occurred with a puppy at my place of employment. I cannot get over the how pleasant they were. And the advice that was given to me. I definitely will be keeping Timberline as my vet for my girls. Even if I move an hour or more away, they are definitely worth the drive. It is hard these days to find a good honest vet. Some I think are out there to make money on the love that we have for our pets. Timberline is the place to go for your pets.Happy Customer :~)BeccaPlainfield more

I Love this Hospital 9/28/2007

The Staff at Timberline Animal Hospital is amazing. We had a situation where we had our English Mastiff fixed and we had brought him home a few days after his sugary. On the first night we noticed that his back legs were swelling, it was well after hours and we called the answering service and Dr, Hitt got back to us The Staff at Timberline Animal Hospital is amazing. We had a situation where we had our English Mastiff fixed and we had brought him home a few days after his surgery. On the first night we noticed that his back legs were swelling, it was well after hours and we called the answering service and Dr, Hitt got back to us right away. He said to give him some Motrin and see if that helps, it did not, so we called back and within 15 minutes Dr. Hitt had met us at the Animal Hospital and he was able to diagnosis Mason's situation. This was at 10.00 at night on a weekday. I have not ever had a doctor or a vet tell me to bring my dog in at 10.00 at night. The Staff at Timberline is more

Best Vet in the area 4/18/2006

Dr Hitt and his staff are the BEST! Dr Hitt truely has a passion for the animals. He is a Vet because of his love for the animals not for the money (like some of the rip off animal clinics & hopitals in the area, where money is there only interest). PROS: Very resonable prices CONS: None more

Awesome! 12/28/2005

We adopted out dog from the animal shelter and Timerline was recommended by them since the doctor from there had done his shots and preventative treatments while he was at the shelter. I tried two other places in the area first....one of them was ok, the other terrible. Finally I went here and I will never go anyplace else. The staff is nice and friendly. You can tell that they truly love animals and the place is clean and comfortable. Their prices are also very good. more

Wonderful establishment 8/2/2005

This is a clean hospital and the doctors and staff are quick to respond in emergency situations. I really like the way they work so professionally together and treat their clients with care and respect. more
