Best

We traveled to Boston this past weekend, and Tia's was our favorite place that we dined at. We came here for Mother's Day and were very impressed with the specials and the quality...

Worst

TIa's is a nice place but completely overrated. not worth the time or the money

Great Place!! 10/1/2009

I have been to Tia's on many occassions and have never had a bad experience. It is a great place for a nice dinner or to enjoy drinks with friends. I have found both the bar staff as well as the wait staff to be extremely friendly and provide get service. I am a huge fan of the Twin Lobster Special. Overall Tia's is a great place!!!! Pros: Good drinks, Friendly staff more

Tia's is terrible. 9/11/2009

Hated this place. Went there with the girls for a night out and the apps and drinks were too expensive for what you got. Not to mention we had wanted to be outside but it was like the front lawn of a frat house out there. Our waitress was unattentive and spacey. I wont be going back. more

Tia's On The Waterfront is great place for drinks on the waterfront. 8/10/2009

Tia's on the waterfront is a great place to dine on the water. They carry a wide variety of seafood choices, salads, sandwiches, and lobsters. Great patio! more

Tia's is awful 7/31/2009

Just terrible. Are you kidding me with the rude waitstaff, overpriced light beers, terrible food. I would rather stay home than ever get dragged to this dump again. more

Tia's On The Waterfront 6/29/2009

Ate here for an early dinner one weekend in Boston. We had a great time, terrific chowder and lobster, nice wine, beautiful patio. I would highly recommend a meal at Tia's. more

Great Atmosphere, Fabulous Service 9/23/2008

After dining at Tia's I couldn't wait to share my experience with the world, ok maybe just Boston. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing this amazing restaurant for the first time. I had always heard stories about Tia's and how fabulous the location is, and how it's a great after work place to go but never really appreciated all the stories I'd heard until I saw for myself. I visited Tia's late in July with my boyfirend, it was a great night so we sat outside. The hostess was great and freindly. Our server, Toby, was truely amazing. She recommended that we have the boneless buffalo wings to start, which I loved and so did my boyfriend! Then I had the baked stuffed lobster, no other can compare to this! And my boyfriend had the seafood sizzler which he also raved about. After dinner we walked over to the outdoor (bar area) patio, it was very busy and a fun place to spend our evening. We went into the City for a night on the town and got it all at one place...... Tia's! Now I know what I have been missing and the stories I heard were absolutely true. So if you're looking for a great atmosphere, waterfront view, great service, good music, and fun than I recommend Tia's! more

Cool atmosphere 9/22/2008

I have been to Tia's about 4 times. The first time was 5 years ago when I was interning with WEEI and doing promotions. Since then I have been to Tia's a few more times and have enjoyed myself. Living and working outside of Boston, I am not in Boston as often as I would like as it is a beautiful city with a lot to offer. It seems like every time I go into Boston, whether it is for a girl?s night out, a play, or an afternoon shopping spree in the city, Tia's always ends up being part of my trip. I never anticipate it, but I always end up there enjoying a nice frozen drink with my friends to end my day before leaving the city. I just wanted to let you know that the atmosphere and welcoming staff make every trip I make to the city an enjoyable one!!! Keep up the good work!!! Pros: Atmosphere more

Great experience 9/22/2008

I went to tia's the other night for dinner and drinks, the food was so amazing we sat out on the patio, and had a bunch of apps, that were so good. I recommend the spinach dip. The service was also really good, our server was jen, and she was just so pleasent. I would recommend this place to everyone i know more

A Perfect Summer Bar 9/19/2008

Tia's is a perfect summer bar. It is mostly outside and right on the water. A great place to go for cocktails after work or to stay all night. The drinks are a little more expensive that the other Fanuel Hall bars in the area, but the atmosphere is worth it. more

If you haven't been, it's a must! If you have, you're probably a regular! 5/28/2008

I absolutely LOVE Tia's. It's great during the day and it has an amazing night life as well. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's an excellent place to meet people. Also, the staff is very friendly and the food there is great. The seafood is especially good because it's so fresh. I may even say it's Legal Seafood's competition! Definitely check it out if you haven't yet... more

Tia's 4/16/2008

Tia's is known so well as a bar that the great food is often overlooked. We heard that it is a great scene on sunny afternoons, and that's why we went. We were having such a great time that we decided to stay for dinner and had some of the best seafood we've eaten anywhere.\r This is REALLY a great place to hang out on the waterfront on a warm day or evening, and a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. Pros: Great scene, great food, great service Cons: Indoor portion of the bar can get crowded more

Cant wait for afternoons on Tia's patio 4/7/2008

I cant wait for tia's to open back up. When Tia's opens up thats a sure sign that spring is here. I go there almost every thursday or friday afternoon for a few drinks and food. The place is usually busy when the weather is nice, its always a good crowd too. Try to get thier somewhat early on nicer days. If you're going to have food you have to try the calamari! Should only be another week or so before spring is here, aka Tia's opens up. Pros: patio, crowd, food, service, atmosphere Cons: gets crowded early more

always a good time 9/25/2007

Everytime I go to Tia's I've had a good time. Whether it has been just for drinks after work or spending a friday night there, I've never had a bad experience. Sitting outside on the deck after work is the perfect way to relax after a long day. The food is good and the staff is friendly. One of my favorite bars in Boston. Pros: outside dining more

Can I get my money back?? 9/19/2007

We were only in Boston for a day & we were really looking to find a great meal while we were there. Boy was this the wrong place! \r 1. The service was HORRIBLE!! Our waitress was not personable at all, we only saw her to put in the order, drop off our food and pay the bill - we weren't even offered drink refills. When we had a problem it took us quite a while to hunt her down, and she handled it very badly.\r 2. My daughter got a kids meal (she's 5), her burger was burnt and she wouldn't eat it. Any of you who have kids know that once the food is ranked as bad by a child there's no redeeming it. She didn't want anything else at this point & she certainly didn't want another burger. Our waitress seemed to care less that she was leaving the restaurant hungry AND they didn't take it off the bill - she took ONE bite!! Who does that?\r 3. OVERPRICED - I had lobster roll & clam chowder - while it was pretty good, the portion was TINY and it was very expensive for what I got.\r 4. DH had lobster (when in Boston, eat lobster). It was poorly prepared (chewy) and when it came out it was cold - when you're paying market price it had better be done right - how hard is it to boil a lobster!\r \r I worked in restaurants for a lot of years in the past and my minimum tip is usually 20-22% for average service- I tend to overtip a lot if the service is good - this is the first time I left 8% and regretted it later thinking that was too much for how bad the service was - she could have played a part in fixing our food issues but obviously she couldn't be bothered. How hard is it to get a child a new meal if hers is bad or to take care of a lobster dinner that was obviously cooked too long! $80 for lunch and 2 out of 3 of us left hungry! Pros: Location was nice Cons: Service was horrible, food was bad and overpriced more

Underated 8/2/2007

Even though every time I've been to Tia's it's been busy, I still feel like it's an underrated bar in the city. Right on the harbor, Tia's offers good food and a cool place to have a few drinks. It's one of my favorite bars to go to during the summer because you can stay outside the entire time with their outdoor bar. Nothing too flashy here, but has good beer selection. Pros: Waterfront, Plenty of space outside Cons: Inside bar is very small more

Great food and even better service 6/27/2007

This place is great. My wife and I had some company come to visit and we asked some friends where to take them and Tia's came highly reccomended. We went on a nice afternoon and sat outside on the patio. The food was great, and the service was exceptional. Our server was so nice and was constantly asking if we needed anything. Our company loved it and requested we go back there next time they are in town. more

Best bar in Boston 6/19/2007

I've been to Tia's a bunch of times. Boston's young professionals wait for this place to open back up in the offseason. The patio is right on the water and always full of fun people. The after work crowd is very friendly because we all just got off our 9 - 5 job and need a drink to relax. The food is great, I've been to a couple events at Tia's that are catered. They always put out a good spread. The seafood here is great as well, nothing like eating seafood and being able to see the ocean. Pros: Location, food, service, atmosphere Cons: Parking more

If you like drunks and skanks 2/8/2007

This place is a clown show. I saw a bunch of roid freaks start a fight with some kids over a chair (luckily they ended up with the chair, although it was over the side of their head, good for them!) Otherwise, if you enjoy overpriced drinks and the suburban crowd that comes into Boston to get wasted and start fights with people, this is your place. Pros: its close to the water Cons: everything else more

HORRIBLE FOOD, MEDIOCRE SERVICE 8/20/2006

The food was so bad I couldn't bear to stay for drinks at the bar. The calamari was not only gross, but there was hardly enough for one person even if you did want to eat it. The waitress left no impression and the martinis stunk. The only thing worse than the ridiculous bill was the turkey club. Not only do they not tell you want is on it (warning there is a massive avacado right in the middle) but they put (no exaggeration) 20 times more mayo on it than there should have been. No one at our table left satisfied. I guess if you haven't had seafood you wouldn't know how poor the quality was, but please don't have this be your impression of Boston. Go for drinks, but avoid all food. Pros: waterfront, outdoor, nice area Cons: food, service more
