Thrift is without a doubt a SUB-PRIME OPERATION! Here is my store short and sweet. Economy hits the GREAT RECESSION of 2007. I survive, but like many, credit takes hit. I own business, own home, never in this position in my life. I do what I have to....Make all the spending adjustments, like a responsible person including getting out of leased cars and then bought a used one. In the eyes of the institutions that created the recession , whom by the way were bailed out, I am a sub-prime borrower. No harm, I will climb back. Car loan with Thrift , paid off in 3 years, ( for honesty sake sure a few days late here and there never more) Pay my loan off May 2012. \r \r Fast forward to June 2013. Rear-ended, car totaled, guess what? Insurance company can not pay me, Thrift never sent me my title. Told it would be sent over night, never received, weekend waiting, call Monday told sent on Monday. ( oh, I live in NJ ) Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday, no title. Called, several times on Thursday, I mean SEVERAL! Demeaned, told to get a job, asked if my kids knew I was acting like this!? What? Told I was harassing them and if I called again they would file charges. 3hrs of calls , ( oh I didn't stop) . Told I had obligation to request title when loan was paid! What? Told conversation was over, hung up on many times...did I stop...no...I am due my title. \r \r Now the good cop steps in , Christina. Joe, so sorry , your right, these people should not talk to you in this manner. If you dint have title by Friday, We will go to DMV. guess who was not in Friday...Yup Christina. Called 4:45pm ( sorry BOZO's I don't control time of mail) More of the same Sub-Prime intellect from their loser reps. I'll call Christina, places me on hold until 5:00 when office closes and , yup....Dropped call! \r \r 5:30, placed formal complaint with Division of banking and Insurance, faxed copy to Thrift for Monday Morning wake-up call. Will be filing small claims for extra rental charges Monday morning..........all I wanted from these sub-prime idiots was my title or a few extra days on rental sine they didn't have my title to me in 14 months. \r \r Thrift is a DELINQUENT - SUB-PRIME - OEPERATION. They failed in their responsibility and will answer for it. I promise you .\r \r For those at Thrift who may be reading this. You should have acted in a professional manner....now you will deal with me in the LEGAL SYSTEM...... more

How are you guys gonna say THRIFT is bad because they wanted their money? you didn't pay, so they took the car....that seems normal to me. I understand things happen, and life gets in the way, but if you paid your bill then THRIFT would not have repossessed the car. more

OMG!!! Where do I begin!!! I’m reading all these reviews for Thrift Investment Corp. Fords, N.J., I had just happened to stumble across this. Wow! I used to work there years ago. What you’re reading is the truth. I can tell you it was run by the rudest, crudest, and immature people I have ever met. I’m guessing that Bruce Kerzic is still the President. OK .It’s my first day of work, and at one of the desks is some guy yelling and screaming at his ex wife about his children. The whole office is hearing all of this personal information. And I’m thinking, where is the boss to stop this guy. Other employees are talking to customers, and I’m sure you can hear all this nonsense over the phone. Well…low and behold, I ask around only to find out this immature idiot is the President. Lolololol Ok???? Yeah…….Very professional. Needless to say, I new right there and then, I was in trouble. If this is the way the President conducts himself in his own office in front of his employees, why the heck would he treat his customers with any respect whatsoever??? And I new he would never show any respect to his employees. Well he didn’t that’s for sure. He would be in his office screaming at people on the phone and sometimes in person; at employees and customers as if he thought he was god himself!! He is very chauvinistic, arrogant, crude and immature. Well the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. His father Patrick Kerzic was just as bad, if not worse. Between the two of them airing all their dirty laundry in front of the employees yelling at each other. NO LIE!! Bruce pushed his father while they were having a fight. I think the whole office held their breath. I need to mention Ross Billing, OH BOY!! He is the most arrogant little son of a you know what. Working with him was horrible. He constantly degraded all the people that didn’t kiss his butt. Bruce had this thing about hiring men from his almamater, and molding them to be just like him. The worst offender was Ross. I guess you can see I have a lot to say. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but we don’t have all day. Since then I have found out that most of the people that I worked with are also gone, and opened up their own business. How’s that for a happy ending, for some of them. Sincerely, I would not do business with Thrift; they are by no means professional!!! more

Unlike this review, I have nothing but great things to say about Thrift and its employees. My husband and I bought a car and due to our low credit rating, we were introduced to Thrift Investment Corp. From the word go, I became very friendly with the staff. After 2 years of payment, my husband and I separated. I was left with the car payment. For the last 2 1/2 years I worked directly with 1 or 2 representatives in making payments, paying late fees, extensions, etc. They worked their tails off to keep me in good standings and NEVER EVER reported me late. I will admit that they are very aggressive and firm, but I never experienced being bad mouthed, cursed, harrassed or any of the things others have listed. \r \r I think if a company has been around long enough, they will be able to pick out who is honest and upfront and who is full of crap. If a person buys a car that turns out to be a lemon, there is a lemon law in the State of New Jersey specifically designed for those situations. I will never understand why people decide to stop paying a finance company simply because they bought a lemon or did not have the car inspected by a mechanic before making an investment. After all, the finance company was not there at the time of purchase encouraging anyone to buy a car. And, if god forbid your finances become so limited that you can no longer make payments, well.. simply give the car back. In time, your situation will change and you can start over again. Trust me... I know about change and starting over!!\r \r In exactly 23 days I am making my last car payment which was reduced by 1 late fee. I am very excited about it. I no longer live in NJ, but if I needed to buy a new car, I would reach out to Thrift Investment time and time again for a loan and work with those same individuals. So, Michael, I am so sorry that you had a very bad experience. But I do believe there are 3 sides to every story, yours, theirs and the truth. I would love to hear theirs and of course the truth behind your terrible experience. \r \r Thank you Thrift Investment for funding my loan and for a great experience. More importantly for making my personal problems your own and for working with me even when I had no idea how to make those payment. Good fortunates and blessings to all. \r \r PS.. I personnally knew Nick P... he was the 1st one to roll his sleeves and offered to help!! I guess you do more with sugar than with vinegar. People... learn to be nice!! If I loan you 10K, 15K or 20K, I too would want my money back as well! As far as being late, I was behind too... NEVER EVER did anyone say or come to repo the car. So, I do not believe for 1 minute that a car 23 late got repo!! So, let's play nice and stop talking crap about a company simply because what you needed or wanted was unfeasiable and impossible!! I dont know why people try to blame the company for wanting their money on time. I got a loan through Thrift and paid my payments every month. After 2 years, I established good credit and qualified for a loan with a bank that would not previously lend to me. Yea, the interest was kind of high at Thrift, but they gave me a loan when no one else would. \r \r How would you feel if your job didnt pay you for two months? Would you try to get your money if the company said they were haveing financial trouble? Or would you be sympathetic? I think people need to get a grip on reality. If you can't manage your finances, don't expect someone to feel sorry for you. get another job, deliver pizzas, whatever. If you cant pay your bills, then maybe you shouldnt have financed a car you can't afford. Boo hoo hoo. more

These people are a pack of 6 toed cross-eyed morons and criminals. They beling in State Prision where they could take their uppity, greedy attitidues and throw them at Brutus\r I financed a car with these creeps in early 08. Unfortunate;y some other moron tried to cut me off on the Garden State Parkway, drove me into a ditch, I lost control of the car , the car carreened across the highway and collided another vehicle, the original miscreant getting cleanly away. Neither one of us was hurt, and the State Trooper who was a true gent did not issue me a summons. (Geico had the nerver to charge me for the accident, another bunch of fradulent morons, tell thm where they can shove that little Gecko and cancel your policy!)\r However there was $3200 in damage to my front end and I had to come up with the $1000.00 deductable. Since i have no savings or credit card, and the garageman would not budge a penny on the deductable, I had to turn over most of 2 weeks pay to get the car back and in the meantime had to take 3 buses and a train to work while the car was in rge shop\r As a result of having to shell out the deductable i fell 31days behind and these morons repoed my car, despite the fact that I had made a payment arrangement which would have begun 2 days after the date it was repoed, and despite the fact that just before the accident I had brought the account current with 2 lump sum payments!\r In addition some little punk with a wannabe cop-complex named ""Pat Z"" came to my apartment unbidden twice and asked me who I was. like he was a Police Officer I asked if he was a Police Officer and when he said no told hom to eother explain who he was and why he was asking or get lost\r Incredibly the same idiot sauntered into my workplace and asked me the same question. I told him to leave or I would call the Police. He looked like a chubby little punk that had just started shaving and was mad at the world because he could not make the High School football team.Is this garbage what Thrift calls its 'Agents""?\r Now I again have to take those 3 buses and 1 train to workn ir face homelessness. DONT EVER do business with these CRIMINALS. Ride a horse first! more

I purchased a car in April 08 and these morons financed it. I gave them 10,000 down on a 19,000 car. Well 1/09 they re-possessed my car! Now i was only 23 days late!!!!! When i called them at 8 am after only sleeping 30 min that night b/c i was so upset...Thanks THRIFT and asked them what i could do the supervisor told me I needed to pay 1500 to get my car back. Which was Dec, Jan and repossession fees, okay i said. I was also told that my insurance which wasn't due until the end of Jan needed to be paid. What a joke! Well this was all on Sat and on Mon i was then told in order to get my car i would need a co-signer. I am the co-signer my husband is the buyer. I am taking this to a much higher level.....I already made the proper phone calls. Oh did i mention their reasoning for taking my car was that my husband didn't answer his phone. Whatever anyone does DO NOT ever ever deal with these scumbags! If you have a similar situation DO NOT let them get away with it! Put the matter into the proper hands, dirt bags like these need to be stopped! more

Wow...I had the same situation with Nick P, around the same time. He said ""we are going to send our agents to that job"". That's funny because his ""agents"" wouldn't even get past the lobby security. What were they going to do tell me to pay my car payment that is a month late. But everyone at Thrift is the same...RUDE! If you try and send Nick an e-mail it bounces back...guess he didn't last long. more

Today I received a phone call from a supervisor ( Nick P. ) at my work location. He was very rude to me . I am two month late on my car payment. I tried to explain to him that I was going through some hard times his response ( we do not care about your problems). He then followed by saying if they did not receive a payment by the end of the day he would have agents at my work to reposes my car, take me to court, garnish my checks, called me immature and many other names , screamed at me in till I cried . Should I have to be harassed to this extent?\r \r AML more
