Very Satisfied! 10/31/2011

I was a little hesitant due to the value of my piano, and past experiences. Bill was very courteous, and paid attention to the little details concerning the possession of my piano, all the way to my tile flooring. He protected everything in my house beautifully, and made it look so easy! He was priced well, and looked for the safest, easiest, and cheapest route to move my piano. I would recommend Threshers to anybody above other companies I have used in the past! Thanks again!! more

Pianos Moved Easily! 7/20/2011

Thresher Piano Movers are amazing. They show up and take a look at the cheapest route to get out of the house. They protect the piano with blankets and then give recommendations on the end on how to maintain and improve the piano. Would use them again. more

Fantastic Movers 7/20/2011

These are the best piano movers I have ever used. When the two of them showed up I was surprised but they moved the piano quickly and safely. The piano was protected with blankets and you could tell the men knew what they were doing. I would recommend in a heartbeat. more

Best Movers I've Ever Used 4/21/2011

These Guys were amazing. I've used piano movers in the past to assist me in getting my piano moved, but these guys went the extra mile to get the job done. First they made the job look easy, and second they gave pointers on how to clean but also place the piano in my house. Thank you for the great job Thresher. more

Estimate was 1/3 of the actual cost 11/26/2010

I live in Colorado and have a son in Utah County who wanted a piano. I bought one for him from a neighbor of his - lived about 7 houses down. My daughter recommended thresher Movers because she had used them twice and was impressed with them. She called and they asked how many stairs in both houses and we told them about how many we thought as it was going to be $3/step. The estimate was quoted to be around $135 for the move. Then we were to mention the web discount (which only says that it's 10% off a local move and it doesn't say you have to mention the website ad - my daughter-in-law forgot to say something). We scheduled the move. I asked my son to pay and I would reimburse the expense. I am widowed and not rich - living off SS and a small retirement fund. I feel music is important and so I felt this was a good investment for them. My son called to tell me they had charged almost $400 for the move and he was mad! Apparently corners are $25 - $150 depending. They said there were 3 corners that amounted to a total of $200. I only know of 2 and didn't find where the 3rd one was. I called and told him that the estimate was 3 times higher than quoted and he said there were corners. We told him that he didn't ask how many corners when we asked for the estimate and he said he had been in the business for 10 years and that was a quiestion he always asked. Well he didn't in this case and if we had known it was going to be this expensive, I wouldn't have hired them. He didn't even offer to give the 10% discount. I am really upset with all this and would never recommend him to anyone - without extreme caution. more

Did a GREAT job. 8/12/2010

All in all, Thresher piano movers did a great job. I was moving last minute and hadn't even thought about geting the piano moved. When I called in last minute I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to set up an appointment, but they were more than happy to work with me.\r \r The person that I talked to on the phone, I think his name was Bill, was very professional and gave me a VERY good quote compared to the other people I had talked to. They then showed up on time, moved the piano without any problems, and were unbelievably nice the whole time. \r \r I'll never use anyone else! more

The Only Movers That Would Do The Job 8/10/2010

I had an experience that I am greatful for Thresher Piano Movers!\r \r I was moving a large industrial laser engraver. Every moving company I contacted, they stated that either there insurance didn't cover the job at hand, or they were not experienced at moving large delicate pieces of machinery.\r \r Thresher came to my rescue. These guys moved my laser engraver without incidoent, and made it look easy. \r \r Since this move, I have recommended their services to all my friends, and praise their name when it comes to moving anything. \r \r Thank You, more

No-Show Disrespect 7/26/2010

My brief experience with Thresher Piano Movers was possibly the worst ""service"" experience I have had, and will most certainly be my last experience with Thresher. If you want a reliable, punctual mover that respects you, your time and the commitments they make, based on my experience, I strongly recommend you find another mover. While I cannot speak for their actual piano moving, if it is anything like their respect to customers and professionalism, I thank God they flaked on me and did not move my piano. Last Friday I called a few piano services and eventually ended up with Thresher Piano Movers. The men I spoke with on the phone sounded very nice and I got the impression that I could trust Thresher Piano Movers to move my antique upright out of my home for my renter, whom had just moved in. It was a very simple job moving my piano from one garage to another, no more than a mile away, with zero stairs. I made it clear that I was not in the state of Utah and would have to arrange to have someone meet them at the house. The earliest they could do the job was Monday at 4pm. On Monday morning I called Thresher to arrange payment and spoke to a man, who I believe was named Bill. He was again very nice and informed me that he would call me after the move was complete around 4pm my time to take my credit card information. I told him the name of my family member that would be meeting him over there, and he informed me that they were ahead of schedule and should actually be to my place early. My sister-in-law packed her kids in the car and headed over to my house early, because of what he told me on the phone. At 4pm MST (the actual time of our appointment), I received a phone call from Thresher telling me that they were way behind schedule and wouldn't be there for another two hours, and that he would give me a call when they were on their way. Compounding matters, my sister-in-law's phone was broken, so she ended up having to wait with her kids until she realized they had blown me off. Although I was disappointed and bugged that they were going to be two hours late after I had to arrange to have someone meet them there, that stuff happens. I understand. Could they have called me sooner than the exact time they were supposed to arrive though? Absolutely. Strike one. They knew I had to ask my sister-in-law to meet them there, and they could have easily saved her the trip of leaving her house, by performing the simple courtesy of not waiting till the minute they were supposed to arrive to call me. Two hours later and I still had not received a call from Thresher. I called them --- no answer. I left a message asking where they were and waited. After a grand total of three hours late and no word, I called every number of theirs I could find multiple times and they never called. I could have understood if they got so backed up that they had to bump me. Would I have been happy? No, but calling and telling me would have been the right, professional, respectful thing to do. I still would have had time to call a different company and at least get an appointment on the books before the end of the business day. My sister-in-law wouldn't have waited around her house for the rest of the evening, waiting for me to call and tell her that they were finally going to be coming. My renter, who was planning some of her move-in based on having the piano out of there, could have had notice. Bottom line, after my experience with Thresher, I associate the following words with them: disrespectful, inconsiderate, unprofessional, unapologetic, and most importantly unreliable. I feel an odd sense of relief that they did not show up, because if this is how they conduct their business matters, how would they have treated my piano? Pros: online discount Cons: they didnt move my piano and didnt call to cancel more

Best Investment 1/5/2009

I'm a college student with no money and was contemplating moving a spinet piano down three LARGE flights of steep stairs by myself and a few friends. In the end it was tough to coordinate with my friends and I was a little worried about sending someone to the hospital anyway. \r \r My sister had a positive experience with Thresher Piano Movers, so I called them. They showed up on time and had the tools to safely move the piano down the stairs in no time. I wanted the piano loaded in my own van in place of the last bench. They got it into the right place and tied it down, even though it was a tight squeeze. With the weird contours of my van, this would have been tough job for me and a few buds.\r \r It was great, I just relaxed and let them work. After seeing how easily they moved the piano down the stairs and positioned it into the van, even for a college student, I am glad I paid the money. more

High Marks to Good Work 11/26/2007

Thresher Piano Movers did a wonderful job moving our piano. They expressed care and concern upon the piano, and the surrounding for which they worked in and upon. I will highly suggest their services to any of my acquaintances. Pros: very professional more

Wierd Dude 10/14/2007

Dude talked my ear off acouple times. Moved my piano ok. It still plays. Later, I found out this dude has been charged with criminal mischief and trespass. I don't know for what. I enjoy researching strange birds I come across. Bottom line: Do your homework on these blue collar guys; you never know who could set foot into your home. Pros: moved my piano Cons: dude chewed my ear off more

Qualified and affordable 6/13/2007

Bill Thresher and his crew moved an upright piano from my parent's home in Orem to my home in Sandy. Even though I was at work, both my parents and my husband said they worked very quickly, came well prepared, were professional and courteous, and did not damage the piano nor was there any damage inside the home. Considering that thier cost was half of what other businesses quoted me, I am very pleased and would highly recommend them to others. Pros: Quick, professional, handled piano w/care, affordable, and was able to schedule with just two days notice. more
