Never been treated so insolently 2/25/2012

My experience was unbelievable, and not in a good way. I had heard how great this place was and had been meaning to try it for awhile. Last year in August I bought a groupon and I wasn't able to make it in time so I finally got around to using it for the amount paid which never expires. I was not immediately impressed with customer service right off the bat, not very friendly or hospitable(the friends I was with noted the same thing). We sat, I ordered Housemade Chai Latte, mm delicious! I decided to double check with the waitress about my expired groupon that I could use what I paid for per groupons terms and she got the manager. A woman came to the table, (we find out she is in fact the owner of the establishment)super nice at first and asked what my question was. I explained about the groupon and showed her the app on my phone at which she said the fine print states the restaurant has the decision whether or not to accept it. I searched and saw no such thing and stated that, that is when the tables turned. She said bluntly ""I'm NOT going to accept your groupon!"" Because of her attitude it made me reconsider wanting to eat there so I said ""Well maybe we should just leave"", her response was ""Go ahead!"". At this point I was shocked and even worse was when my friend tried to ask if we could get more information and she yelled ""NO!"" and turned her back on us and walked away! This was so unprofessional, it was unbelievable. We got up and walked out. Customer service is a skill that should be honed and it appears the owner is throwing it wholly out the window. Very disappointing. The menu looked awesome and was looking forward to eating there and being a repeat customer if I liked it. Too bad. 4 customers lost now. The hostess did apologize and I appreciated that however that doesn't undo the disrespect shown by the owner who should be exemplary. IF the owner changes, perhaps I will try again. more

steer clear 12/30/2011

Here we go...yes you were on the Cooking Network and you have become a bohemian cult classic, but the truth is you have the worse service in town. Your service staff is presumptious in thinking 'we are the best in town' because at the end of the day you are an over priced cafe that the mass majority of people flock to just to be seen. When talking to others, they explained that this is just how three sister's cafe is. I refuse to give in..rise to the occasion and become better..you place is dirty..the seats are uncomfortable, and you have little space to move..this place is cluster mess. more

Ugly 10/5/2011

My mom always told me if you can't say anything good don't say anything at all. Whom ever that was that gave a bad review was just mad it had nothing to do with the food I have never been there I live more than 100 miles and plan to drive there just to eat at Three sisters more

Definitely worth the visit 7/9/2011

Guy Fieri doesn't lie. Definitely worth the visit. I had the lemon fruit (blueberry) corncakes which he reviewed and my husband had the vanilla creme french toast and bacon which he said were ""way better than cracker barrell"" lol. I really liked the atmosphere. You are definitely in the tree hugging district. The restauraunt caters to vegans and carnivores alike. It is in an old victorian house - beautiful and you feel like you are being served at home. Very down to earth and you may be served by the owner (we were) - an upbeat short silver haired lady. They are very flexible with your food since they are used to dealing with vegans - so I was able to substitute some dairy items for soy or almond milk which works great for me with the dairy allergy. Very positive energy. Open airy atmosphere blasting motown beats that definitely had me bopping in my seat a few times. Be prepared to be called baby, sweetie and honey by the staff :-) Enjoy! more

Charming and cozy atmosphere, fantastic food, friendly staff 2/13/2011

3 sisters was just featured on the Food Network so there was a long wait this morning, but we decided it was worth it. They had hot coffee for us while we waited and everyone who worked there was casual and friendly. We had a wonderful breakfast - despite the restaurant being packed, we were never without a full cup of coffee and didn't have to wait long for anything. A fantastic experience and I'm so glad a local family owned restaurant from Indy made it on food network! more

The food is good beyond belief. The time and dedication that both Husband and wife put into their food, and service is supreme. I wish I could move into the space upstairs, just to eat there every day, for the rest of my life!!! YUM :) more

Usually, I sit on unfavorable reviews for a week or so. But if I could emit steam from my ears I would because Sebastian and I were fuming when we left Three Sisters Cafe this morning. My husband and I were looking very forward to having breakfast at Three Sisters Cafe today. Sebastian's never been there and I myself have been once before and really had an enjoyable experience. The food was good for the price and our server was a nice older woman with a happy disposition. Today we didnt even make it to the restuarant's entrance. "Hey you guys we're closed!" immediately followed up with a loud "We're shooting a film, so it's a pretty BIG DEAL." was exactly what we were greeted with. No exaggeration. I didn't even know how to respond. I couldn't believe that had even been blathered to customers let alone in that very snobby, very highschool "Hey everyone! Can you believe I just said that to them?" tone. It was so rude that the girl next to her muttered something incoherent that I can only assume were words of disapproval and Loud Mouth giggled "What? I can't say that?". My husband and I just turned around and walked back to our car. We didn't even say a word at all. At the time I think we both thought "Did that just happen?"... When I called to speak to the owners or a manager I was told that they would be in tomorrow, so against my better judgement, I briefly told the boy on the other end of the line what had happened and this was his response: " I don't know what to tell you." and... SILENCE. I gave him another chance for redemption and tried "Well I think she thought she was funny, but she was very rude. I just can't believe that someone would say that." and again his monotone response "I don't know what to tell you. I just work in the back." Who is on this restuarant's staff? And I honestly do not believe that there was no manager on duty. If that was the case then what sort of business are they trying to run here? In the end it worked out great. We went to Zest. The food was spectacular and the service was wonderful, even with a full house. The funny part was that there was another couple who came there from Three Sisters and said that they were treated very rudely as well. We are never going back to Three Sisters and hopefully people will think twice about eating there after reading this review of caution. more

Rude, rude, rude 2/8/2010

I called to make sure they were open and was told they were until 4. I showed up at 2 to place a carry out order. I was greeted by a rude waitress, who directed me to the front desk. I was then told by a older lady, who I believe to be the manager/owner, that they were closed and that I needed to leave immediatley. She treated me like a sack of you know what. I will never go to three sisters again. Pretentious food with a sour attitude! No thank you! more

Great eating! 7/27/2009

My wife and I had the Blackbean Burger with Potatoe Salad and the Portobello Mushroom burger with 3 Bean Chili respectably. The best mushroom burger I've had in recent years and my wife like hers as well. The dessert, chocolate cake, was fresh, thick and moist. Over all, very fresh and tasty food served with a smile by a candid lady that kept calling us her babies! more

What happened to this place?!? 4/13/2009

This used to be one of my favorite spots. My daughter is a vegetarian and there are not a lot of places that both of us really enjoy together. This was one of them...sadly, the active word there is ""was"". Pros: Some of the meals, especially breakfast are still good Cons: The service...terrible attittudes and SLOOOOOW. more

This was one of them...sadly, the active word there is "was". People there used to be friendly and helpful. The last few times, the service has declined to the point that I just can't make myself willing to try again. And worse, the meals that used to really attract my daughter are now off the menu. So all I can ask is, what happened?!? Pros: Some of the meals, especially breakfast are still good Cons: The service...terrible attittudes and SLOOOOOW. more

Great food, awful service 4/11/2009

We enjoyed this restuarant immensly until a few weeks ago. The waitress we had was awful!!! She had little patience and got our order wrong more than once. Not too mention her attitude was God-awful. We went back to give them a second chance and WE WERE ASKED TO LEAVE because we requested another waitress instead of the one we had weeks prior. We were called a-holes and basically escorted to the door per the manager. I will never go back and I am informing everyone I know not to patronize this establishment. Pros: Great menu selections Cons: The customer sevice more
