I am not sure whether all the negative comments are true. I had an appointment with them today, the sales person was extremely professional and showed me a power point outlines on his laptop explaining why i have a water seepage. The price at this time ( i think is reasonable) but i still have few contractors coming in for pricing. The only disappointment i have is when they finished the work, they can't put back the dry walls, which means it is going to cost me additional $ to hire handyman.\r \r So far, i disagree with some of the comments posted about not showing up and being rude. more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I can not say enough great things about Thompson's Water Proofing. I recently had them install a waterproofing system in my basement. I had four (4) other estimates for this job and met with all of the representatives. Thompson's was the best deal and the best price. From start to finish they were extremely professional. The crew was on time and completed the job in the time frame that was given to me. The job was reviewed by my father-in- law (who is a retired contractor) and he was impressed by the quality of the work and the cost of the project. I spoke to Keith (manager) several times during the process and he always returned my calls immediately and answered any questions I had. I can save you valuable time and effort by recommending Thompson's, as my wife and I did our homework prior to having this system installed and were very pleased with Thompson's Water Proofing product, professionalism and customer service. more

My name is Renee Dowell and I am a part of the management team with Thompson's Waterproofing LLC. I am writing in response to the numerous negative reports featured here on City Search. Let me begin by saying that we have tried without success to comment on the reports individually however, City Search has refused to give Thompson Waterproofing access. What City Search did offer me was an opportunity to allow them to handle all of Thompson's Waterproofing Advertising and with that offer, if Thompsons' would PAY them to handle our PR, then City Search would in return eradicate the reports that were listed on their site. I do not feel that we should PAY someone to take away negative reports; my wish was only to have the ability to address the negative concerns listed herein and research as to what the final outcome of the various situations were.\r That being said, Thompson's Waterproofing resolves all complaints as quickly as possible. NO COMPANY is without complaints however, we do honor our warranty and we try our best to resolve issues in an attempt to have the consumer happy in the end. If the complaints listed on this site are legitimate, not written by another company in the industry just looking to bad mouth Thompson's, then I would encourage the writers to post updates as to how Thompsons resolved their grievances. We have had complaints filed with the BBB which have all been resolved in our favor. Mr Thompson, the owner of Thompson's Waterproofing, is so confident in the work that his company does that he is the only person in the waterproofing industry that put his name on his company.\r I would like to suggest that anyone visiting this site also do a search to review City Search, they themselves have numerous complaints listed throughout the web. I would further challenge anyone searching for reviews on Thompson's Waterproofing to check a legitimate site such as Angie's List, where contractors cannot post derogatory remarks about their competitors or the check with the BBB which was put into place for just this purpose. \r In summation, I would just like to state the Thompson's Waterproofing is an honorable company with many years of experience. We are not a ""fly by night"" organization. Although I know positively as fact that any work Thompson's does is done correctly but we do have complaints, no one is satisfied one hundred percent of the time. When you are a company installing over 3000 jobs per year and you receive under ten negative complaints a year keep in mind, that is less than one quarter of a percent of the jobs that we install respond with negative feedback. I like those numbers, I believe that is an excellent percentage rate based on the amount of work performed. Factor into that less than a quarter of a percent that are unhappy, we do our best to satisfy them as well. HORRIFIC! Thompson's installed a drainage system on a house we recently purchased. The Lifetime Warranty was transferred to us, and when water began to enter the crawlspace and subsequently, our den, Thompson's refused to comply with their guarantee. The customer service is non-existent - every time we needed them to come out, we had to wait at least a week, and when the tech would come, he would state he was not prepared to do the work that day. The first time I called to say water was coming in, I was told ""Call back when something is floating."" Really?!? more

Avoid!! 1/21/2012

Don't use this company. They clearly don't have their act together. We scheduled them to come for a quote. They called to confirm the day before and we told them that we would be here to at the scheduled time. They never showed and didn't call. I called the next day and spoke with the office manager. She said she didn't know what happened, but would look into it and call us back. Needless to say, she never called back. more

RUN RUN RUN AWAY 12/9/2011

I wish I could list 0 stars. All of the negative reviews are 100% accurate. To begin, I have never felt compelled to review any company prior to Thompsons, however this experience has been the most painful and horrible I have had. First, the salesman completely messed up the job, mismeasuring and not identifying correctly what needed to be done. The first crew arrived at my house and walked off the job. They were horrible, came up with any excuse not to work, and left my house and could not be reached. I called to cancel my job and spoke to the ""manager"" who came out to my house and assured me they could do the job. I reluctantly allowed them to continue. This is the worst mistake I could have made. From that point forward there have been nothing but delays, lies, and mistakes. I was told that their system could not be installed in a portion of my house and that they came up with an alternative. Their alternative did not work, and this area was flooded and caused my dehumidifier to become submerged in water. Magically they found a way to put the system in after this occurred. I was told the job would take 1 additional day (after the first 3 days of delays beyond what I was told) to which the installer said ""the manager lied to you. It will be at least 4 to 5"". I was told that they were goind to be ""here until the job is done"" however they did not come on one day to go to a different job. In addition, they show up with less people then they said because ""people don't want to work"" and they leave early! DO NOT USE DO NOT USE DO NOT USE. I recently had Thompsons install a waterproofing system in my basement and am mystified how they are still in business. The workers are late. The management is quite rude. My biggest complaint is with the lack of quality. The cement/finishing was not even. I cannot put carpet down becasue it is so uneven. Not only do I have water comming into the sump, but also dirt so this is clogging up my pump. What a terrible installation. \r Overall it was a very poor experience right from the get go. Avoid Thompson's like the plague. more

VERY dissapointed and DO NOT RECOMMEND 11/10/2011

I gave them one star because that is the minimum rating.\r \r I would not use Thompson's Waterproofing for a number of reasons. Firstly they cancelled appointments the night before on two occasions. The day they did install the system they were two hours late, and two guys short. I was told it would be a one day job, but it turned out to be a two day job. With that said the workers arrived at 10:30 AM and left at 3:00 PM. It is no wonder it took them two days. The second day, they showed up late again and installed a very sloppy system.\r The concrete was not level; material used around the perimeter was falling apart. Overall, it was a very poor install. Now, had I spent a few hundred dollars on system, I would have had little complaints. However due to the fact that this was a very expensive system, i would have expected better quality.\r I called Thompson's the next day to get them to come out and repair the areas. Do Not Use This Company! 10/5/2011

In January of 2011, we contracted Thompson's Waterproofing to correct a water issue in our basement. Prior to signing a contract, we met with a representative (Mic McGregor) who identified where and why the water was getting into our basement. At that time, we were shown a virtual model of the problem and the way in which the issue would be corrected. We signed a contract stating there was a lifetime transferrable warranty that water would not collect in the designated area of the basement once Thompson's completed the service. The cost of the service was $1,500.00.\r When the spring rains began, water was gathering in the basement once again (in the same location Thompson's ""corrected."") It took the company several days to even respond to our calls, and when they finally returned to the house on June 18, 2011, the service man literally spent less than 5 minutes at our home ""addressing the issue."" He sprayed sealant on the concrete and claimed that, ""No one ever sealed it after the previous job."" \r After subsequent rains, water continued to gather in our basement, so we called Thompson's again in July. At no time was water seen traveling from the drain pipe into the sump pump. After several more days, we received a return call from Jeff Thompson and eventually a visit on July 21st. This time, the service man called his manager and was here for a total of 20 minutes. He dug up a 1 foot section to see if there was stone surrounding the drain pipe and then simply drilled many holes into our sump pump. He indicated that the pipe was likely in the wrong spot; however, his boss would want to try the cheapest fix first. Unfortunately, the water continues to collect in our basement.\r We called Thompson's three weeks ago (September 18th) and spoke to Natasha. I had a representative call and schedule a FREE eval and estimate for my basement. My husband and I both took time out of our important and busy schedule to be available for this appointment. Thompson Basement Waterproofing never showed up. They never called to cancel the appointment. They never call to apologize and/or reschedule. This is not very professional. I am very disapponited with this company and how they value costumers and their time. more

Very Pleased 3/15/2011

We hired Thompson's Waterproofing to do our basement. They showed up and interviewed before they entered the home. They asked what location we would like the pump. The first 3-4 hrs was loud from the hammering but these guys definatly worked hard. We loved the professionalism and the fact that they were from Thompsons Waterproofing and not sub-contractors. They installed the system in 2 days and we have been dry ever since. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL! more

Thompsons Waterproofing 11/20/2010

I got two estimates prior to calling Thompsons and they beat the lowest one. The work was performed within the time frame the saleman promised and my basement is DRY! One of their workers dropped a rock on my hardwood floor, denting it, but they fixed it the very next day. All in all, professional company, they care about their reputation and it shows. more

Basement Water problem. 3/13/2010

The price was a little better than the 3 other companies I spoke with. I went with Thompsons Waterproofing because of the knowledge and the way they helped me understand why the water was coming in. The workers were prompt and clean looking. They finished the job in 2 days and with all the recent rain it looks like I will enjoy my dry basement. There was some dust from the jack hammer but it beats the inches of water my husband and I have to shop vac out. A company I'd suggest to my friends. Pros: Showed up on time, nice people. Cons: Some dust but minor. more
