Okay but could be better 3/15/2009

There haven't been many reviews for Thin Pan on citysearch in awhile. We've dined there quite a bit but our last visit on a Friday night was only okay. There is really nowhere to sit and wait for a table except for some random chairs along the wall. The wait staff doesn't really seem to care about who showed up first and they seated a couple who showed up after us first. The chairs are in desperate need of replacing. They are woven straw (or something similar) and you sink way down into the chair as if it's going to bust, and we are not overweight. The tables are not level with the ground so it takes a shuffling of napkins, sugar packets or whatever can be found to steady your table. The food is pretty good. Yes, the green beans are awesome, but quite frankly, I'd rather go to Lai Thai for better service, a decent atmosphere and generaly no wait for a table. Pros: decent food Cons: needs upgrade more

Best Green Beans! 11/13/2006

The food is excellent and the waitstaff is always very friendly. There are times I have been there when the food has taken a while, but it has always been when they are extremely busy (they seem to have a fairly small kitchen, so it is not surprising they would get a little backed-up when they get busy). If you are in a rush to get in and out, you probably don't want to go there on a Friday or Saturday. Ordering the green beans as an appetizer is a must! We haven't had a bad meal yet and we eat there at least 2-3 times per month. Pros: excellent food Cons: wait can sometimes be long more

Delicious, intimate, friendly Thai restaurant 10/21/2006

Went here last night with my boyfriend. The place was great - it was intimate, cozy, and friendly. Service was prompt and attentive. We had the coconut prawns as a starter - absolutely delicious! My curry was great, boyfriend loved the Phad Se Yu. Definitely the BEST Thai in Kirkland, bar none. Pros: really delicious food, even accomodate large groups Cons: none whatsoever more

Delicious thai 9/28/2006

They have unique choices, a nice atmosphere. IT's a fun place to go on a date or out with friends on a friday night. Tasty choices. Reasonable prices. more

Inventive, Casual, Satisfying 8/16/2006

I enjoyed my first experience at Thin Pan and plan to head back again. I thought the menu was inventive and the curry was very satisfying both for taste and size. The seating was very open which was nice on a summer day. The only complaint is that we went as the sun set behing the buildings so one of us was staring into the sun for most of the meal. But it didn't seem to matter that much since the food and service was good. Pros: Inventive Food, Tasty Dishes, Reasonably Priced Cons: Squinting to avoid the sun more

inventive food, eclectic environment and friendly service. One of the best Thai places in the Seattle area - definitely worth the drive to Kirkland. more

Needs improvement on service 2/3/2006

I took my gf to dinner here and the service was terrible. The waiters were very impatient when taking the order. Food quality was just OK. Wish I had gone somewhere else. Service def. needs improvement...location is nice. Pros: location Cons: bad service more

Great Service - Great Food! 10/26/2005

The people at Thin Pan are great! It's funny that a previous review noted how everyone was having fun and treated well except that reviewer. It tells us something about that reviewer perhaps (can you say ""rude patron""?). A friend that knew I'm Thai food nut took me originally. I've been there 5 or 6 times now. It's the best Thai food I've ever had - bar none. more

Bad service and attitude 9/16/2005

My friend and I had a horrible experience with service at Thin Pan. The waiters were very short and cold to us, but very friendly with all the tables around us. On a hot day, we didn't get an refills on our water and when we called the waiter for the refill, he acted very rude, almost spilling the water on us. Very bad experience - I would NEVER go back! We were just trying to have fun and relax after a long day, but it was horrible. Cons: Bad Service more

BAD service 3/13/2005

My bf and I went there last Friday night at 8pm. Waited 20 minutes for soup, and 30 more minutes for the main noodle dish. Two parties came later than us got served way before us. One of the later parties were done before we got the noodle dish. Asked the waiter, and he said because they didn't order soup, that's why they got served faster. The other party who came later got the main dish served soon after their soup came. I saw all that but didn't bother to argue with the waiter. The food is good, but not worth 50 minutes waiting on a noodle dish and terrible service. more

Great place, creative menu just the right mix between traditional and creativity. Spice are just right and I love the Chu Che Ahi Tuna stake (I think it was special for the week) Good value for Kirkland lake front. more
