Outstanding 6/12/2003

Outstanding hotel...I live in Manhattan...and went to the Ritz for a ""spa weekend"". It was an incredible value given the staff, the location and the amenitites. I loved it and plan to visit on a regular basis. I felt as though I truly got away from the City...yet I was only 15 minutes from home. Thank you Ritz Battery Park! more

Far from Perfect! 1/23/2003

I was seriously dissatisfied. FANTASTIC harbor views, but this property is too geographically inconvenient for the typical New York visitor. The Club Lounge was highly deficient. No afternoon Tea/snack presentation, and lunchtime presentation food is not set out - a staff member has to bring out food to you. I could not find a staff member to assist. There was only bottled water set out for beverage service. Overall I found the staff rather welcoming. I was shooed off the 14th floor terrace (the entry doors were NOT locked) . The worst was a surly security officer who came to my door at night, ORDERING me to turn down my radio (I was playing soft music to listen to in the bath) and treated like some unruly Spring Break teenager. Pardon me for thinking the room would be better insulated against noise! This was the poorest Ritz Carlton stay ever! more

Wonderful! 1/16/2003

Truly a great place with outstanding service. I took my 63 year old mother to New York for the 1st time and everyone was very accommodating. Nester, the concierge, was wonderful. Even during the almost transit strike, the staff went out of their way to call me at home before our trip, to help with travel arrangements. They also mailed me my skirt that I left behind. The hotel rooms and beds are very comfortable too. A little out of the way from mid-town and Times Square, but great for business. Wonderful Hotel! Pros: Service!, Rooms/Beds, Views of Lady Liberty Cons: Location more

Outstanding Service 12/8/2002

We've traveled all over the world and the service and ambiance in this hotel is truly worthy of its five-diamond rating. The concierge was particularly helpful with theater and transportation confirmations, all with a smile! Our room had a very spacious bathroom and bedroom w/DVD player and Frette sheets. The doormen were kind and recognized us each time we returned to the building. Overall, a perfect stay. Pros: Stylish, Great Service, Comfortable Cons: No Pool more

A special night made so memorable! 10/22/2002

This hotel certainly deserves all the accolades it receives and can wear the Ritz-Carlton banner with pride! The staff couldn't have been any more accomodating and the hotel was everthing you'd expect to get for the price. Actually for NYC, it's probably a bargain! The room was spacious and the view of the harbor and Statue of Liberty simply spectacular. The king-size featherbed, luxurious robes and marbled baths made us feel like a million! Thanks so much for making a ""special"" night something I'll always remember and cherish! Pros: Staff is so attentive, ambiance to die for, great location, view Cons: Not cheap (worth it!), Parking is high more

AMAZING! 10/3/2002

From the minute we walked in the door to the time we left we were treated like royalty. Service was excellent. The room was large and beautiful, the view excuisite. The telescope allowed us to view the Statue of Liberty up close and the New Jersey skyline. The hotel booked us reservations at restaurants and remembered us each time they saw us. I could go on and on, I have not one complaint! Pros: beautiful view, great location, wonderful staff more
