After taking my truck to the boneheads at Firestone I was convinced Lewisville was jinxed for car service. Then I found The Transmission Shop . They were very professional , completed my repair very quickly and were very reasonable on their prices . Thank you All for a great experiance . A++ more

Nora Manning — 5 star. I had car problems and took my car to the Nissan Dealership in Corinth where they did a diagnostic check that told them I needed a NEW transmission. Since they don't repair transmissions I would need to buy a new one for $3800.00. I then decided to take my car to a Transmission specialist, which was The Transmission Shop in Lewisville. Dave Phelps worked with me to decide what the problem was thinking it could be a sensor or maybe even my battery, but he felt that it wasn't the Transmission. After trying various things, he sent me to Lewisville Tire & Service where it turned out to be my alternator. Thank you Dave for being an honest mechanic. I couldn't have asked for a more diligent service person to help me and would highly recommend this business more

My husband has a 2008 F150. When the Transmission went out, we took it to a local mechanic in our hometown. They quoted us $4,180.00 for a used transmission. So, I called Kane's Automotive in Lewisville, a highly recommended auto repair shop, and they informed me that they send all their transmission business to 'The Transmission Shop'. The Transmission Shop towed our truck, at no charge to us, and beat the other quote by $1,500.00. They are efficient, communicative, and affordable. I can't recommend them enough! Knowing full well my 2000 Dodge truck was dying, I sought advice from several transmission shops in the area. My better choice seemed to be The Transmission Shop, because they were more interested in solving the problem rather than a knee-jerk reflex of replacing an expensive transmission. The first thing they did was run diagnostics and saw a faulty solenoid... then changed fluid, filter, and tightened bands. My bill was $600 rather than the $2,500 to $3,500 other shops wanted to just replace rather than fix the problem, and my truck runs like brand new! As a decorated Viet-Nam vet, and a 20 yr Scoutmaster, I say, “Honor well played!” more

Doug/David and the entire Team at The Transmission Shop are simply amazing. I took my H2 there this past week with what was diagnosed as transmission and/or transfer case problems by another shop. They not only determined the likely cause of my problems was not related to the transmission, but gave me their expert diagnosis that was engine related. They took their time determining root cause, explained everything in detail, and were very professional and courteous! Doug then referred me to a shop that could help fix the problem, and actually drove me there to talk to the shop and explain what he found (that is the epitome of customer service). If you ever have a drivetrain or transmission problem, there is only one place to go. Go see Doug and David, no one better in the industry in my view. KJ more

I went to the transmission shop because I was told by a previous transmission repair shop that my 4x4 transfer case could not be repaired. David and his team of technicians came through and fixed my truck! I am very happy with the outstanding customer service and professionalism at the transmission shop in Lewisville, TX! I came to the TTS for what I thought could be a costly repair to my transmission. David Phelps greeted me and set up a test drive/inspection. His guys found that my motor mounts were bad. After I replaced them I brought my car back and they found an axle seal leaking. So what turned out to be, what I thought, could be a costly repair turned into a fix that cost me under $200. I have to applaud David and his staff for being up front and honest with me from the beginning. I would recommend TTS to anyone I encounter. I have been to other transmission shop's in Lewisville over the years and was never satisfied. It's hard to find honest people in this world and I have found David and his staff are there to fix the problem, not just sell unnecessary work. Hands down, your the best! Carl Krause more

I highly recommend The Transmission Shop in Lewisville. I have taken all my cars to them and have always been happy with their service. David is the new manager and was extremely polite and professional. He took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all my questions. Well what can I say, I've never met such a professional repair shop. Not only did they check our CTS out, but repaired only what was needed and it runs as good as new. This was the best experience ever. more

I had the opportunity of dealing with David when I took my car to The Transmission Shop, and it was during those days that we experienced the ice. I had to wait a little longer for my car to be completed, but I was informed of everything that was going on and I patiently waited and in return, I received great service and compensation for the wait. Sorry for the delay in responding to my survey. I brought my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am Gt to the shop when the transmission went out at a 200,000 miles and needed to be rebuilt/replaced. It went fine and cost substantially less than was quoted at the dealer where I generally care for my car. A couple of months later it threw a seal which your shop without issue replaced under warranty. Then still later in for service at my dealer, they found I was leaking transmission fluid again from the cooler lines (original so they were aged) and possibly that seal again. The Transmission Shop replaced the cooler lines charging me for them reasonably and again did that seal a second time just to be on the safe side. I pay close attention to how the car sounds, vvibrates and smells as I'm driving and after use. It really hasn't given me any issues and since the cooler lines and the warranty work I haven't smelled anything like burning fluid and the transmission has been running/shifting smoothly. I also do a lot of highway driving to go to/from work and it hasn't been an issue. I feel treated really good by the folks at the shop, not like they want to just make a buck. Also being located so close to a GM dealer where I can rent a car is a definet plus. They're also substantially less costly then the quotes from my dealership. more

I had my transmission rebuilt a month and a half ago here. I wanted to drive the vehicle for a while before reviewing to make sure the repair was good. To my surprise, these guys did the most professional job I could hope for. The transmission operates better than it had the previous 20 years that I owned the vehicle. There is absolutely no fluid leaking or dripping anywhere from the trans seals. Hard shifts from cold starts are a thing of the past for me. I am very satisfied with the repair and professionalism of this company. I only wish that I could find an engine repair/rebuild facility that does this level of workmanship! more
