The Tile Shop

I 100% agree with the poor customer.. We too had a HORRIBLE experience with DAVE SMITH from the Tile Shop. His STEP SON Jeremy works there and refers him out. I don't have enough room to tell you how horrible he is. He walked off our job and the Tile Shop will not stand behind him. He advertises himself on Craigslist which should have been a red flag for me. We just got back from vacation to find our Horizontal Tile on an outdoor slate tile on a step had all fallen off from when he put out tile down this summer. He is extremely SLOW and does very poor quality work and makes very bad decisions. I would contact him to come and fix things, but he won't take our calls plus I want someone to come out who knows what they are doing. Like I said, I could go on and on with numerous issues we have had with him, but the facts are, he is slow and does bad work. more

I have purchased tile from the Tile Shop for every room of my house where I can use it. The Staff there have been nothing but helpful. Their prices are reasonable compared to a number of ""exclusive"" type places. I have always been happy with the products I've selected. I've sent a number of people there too and they have been very happy. Use Service Magic or Angie's List for referrals. You get the referral from other people who have used them. BMc more

we bought some tile and materials here, and asked them to recommend an installer. the individual they referred us to finally showed up to do the job after several weeks of missed appointments, and we wish he never had. the pattern is misaligned throughout the room, the grout is an uneven color, and within a week we had cracking in the grout joints. he (dave smith) never did come back to repair what he had done. we then asked the tile shop for another referral. this time the guy (pat's versa-tile) never showed and never returned our calls. more

While the Tile Shop is a really nice shop and seems to have a lot of tile to chose from, the reality is that 99% of their tile is in the tan/beige range. They don't have a single tile in the gray range to chose from. Maybe that's what most people want, I don't know. So if you want tile in the traditional Johnson County colors of tan/beige, this is your store. If you want a more contemporary tile in the gray range, this store is a huge disapointment.
