local business owner 11/12/2011

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Price of food is too high for what you get. The chef is horrible, his food isn't bad, but don't DARE ask him for something extra/special or anything other than whats on the menu! He and the managment are very anti-customer service!!! The manager ""B Y"" sits at the bar and acts as a dictator rather than a ""leader"" and thats unsettling while your eating your high dollar meal listening to him yell at his employees while sitting there doing nothing and the workers are tending to tables. The bartenders are arrogant and are never nice. The attitude of the managment is felt throughout.\r \r Hard to support a local business that doesn't even take care of their employees and allows the managment to treat its employees that way! \r \r We take clients to lunch and dinner all the time and would rather support a different restaurant!! more

Siena 2/19/2011

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Castle Rock. The food is good but overpriced. Happy hour is the way to go - they have some good specials on martinis, wine and appetizers, including the pizza of the day. The food is decent but the pizza has been good every time, wood fired with a great selection of toppings. Also the 3 desserts I have tried have been delicious.\r \r The service is inconsistent and based on who you get as a server the experience will be different each time. I DO NOT recommend sitting at the bar since the two bartenders I’ve had – an older man and a blonde girl – are consistently forgetful and inattentive. It is difficult to get their attention even when your drinks have been empty for a while. The staff can also be preoccupied with socializing amongst themselves.\r \r The patio by the fountain is great in the summer. We really enjoyed the live music, especially their new guy, Rick Johnson, he is FANTASTIC!!! Playing 2 different guitars he receded into the ambiance but when you paid attention his command of the guitar was wonderful, with some bluesy tunes in addition to contemporary songs as well as great oldies. He was an AMAZING entertainer and we will return just to hear him again. \r more

Unbelieveably Overpriced 3/31/2010

It is too bad that such an attractive restaurant has a menu that is so overpriced, it is laughable. $26 for a SIRLOIN steak? Get real. Surprisingly too, this restaurant seems to attract a very 'unseemly' crowd. The conversation at the table next to us was loud and the topic of conversation throughout the evening was nothing short of DISGUSTING. I wanted to leave, but was stuck there after ordering. The manager said that they were 'regulars' so one can only assume they will be back. Steer clear of this place unless you want to experience an evening of vulgar conversation. Pros: Decor Cons: Terrible overpriced food more

We Love This Place! 6/10/2009

My husband and I have always had a wonderful experience at Siena- the food is great (I love the chicken parmigiana on top of their house macaroni and cheese, my husband loves the steak) and the service has always been top notch for us. The manager is always at the front door greeting, and even has gone as far as to recognize us when we ate there twice in the timespan of about 10 days (with a, ""Hello again!"" which I thought was great!). It's one of our favorite places to go on a date night out, and it's also a GREAT place to take out of town guests to show them how the locals like to do it in Castle Rock. We love it, have been to Siena tons of times over the past few years (even for lunch now, which is awesome) and have never had any issues. There's only one thing I would consider taking a star off for and that would be their pizza- it's not my favorite, there are places in CR that do pizza better (like Anthony's or Stumpy's), and there are other things on Siena's menu that are definitely worth ordering over their pies. Everything else I've had, however, has been fantastic. It's definitely my favorite place to eat in Castle Rock! Pros: Great food, excellent service, good atmosphere Cons: Can get a little loud during peak times more

Mediocre at Best!! 5/8/2009

My wife and I have been coming here for the last year for the food, but find the staff to be far from inviting. The new manager is quite a joke, let's just say his official title should be the ""door man"" or ""hostess"" at best. Most of the staff are stuck up, uninviting and act as if they are doing a favor serving us, the customer. The food is O.K., but after awhile it all starts to taste the same. From here on out we will take our business elsewhere, where we fill appreciated. Pros: That's wishful thinking! Cons: Waitstaff, service, you name it! more

Unimpressed - better choices in Castle Rock 7/21/2008

I know Castle Rock isn't a metropolitan mecca, but that's no excuse for a mediocre restaurant. For an appetizer, we ordered the calamari - pretty typical, like something you'd find at a chain restaurant, but with sub-par sauces. I ordered the scallops for my entree, they were overcooked and chewy. The pizza that my friend ordered was good, but there are many good pizza places in Castle Rock. Most of the menu items were stuffed with some kind of heavy cheese/mushroom combination...just sounded really heavy and rich. Not my kind of place. Service was okay, way below par for the price of food and drinks. Pros: Location, ambience Cons: Heavy food, expensive, so-so service more

great patio 7/17/2008

The patio is the highlight of Siena. They have been lucky enough to score this primo spot in Castle Rock where not much happens after 9 pm on any given night. You take a well-planned patio area combined with Italian food and people come running. Unfortunately their Italian food is just not good.\r \r I have eaten at Siena a few times. My first experience involved their Ravioli, which was WAY too salty. My friend's pasta dish was exactly the same. The service was OK, although our server seemed a little bit confused, nice, but confused. I chalked this up to the restaurant being relatively new. Several months later I went back. I ordered the caesar salad (knowing to stay away from pasta). Ugh. Horrible Caesar salad. The dressing tasted bad, much too creamy and no flavor. They claim their dressing is homemade. I believe they are trying to stretch their dressing out by adding mayonnaise, possibly, which does not belong in a caesar dressing. The Romaine that they use is pure ribs, absolutely no green at all, which coupled with the very creamy dressing made this salad truly unappealing, visually. Some appetizers are OK (I'm thinking bruschetta is fine, but that isn't hard), while others seemed really scant compared to their price. The stuffed mushrooms tasted fine, I do remember this.\r \r Overall it was not a great experience, but with the lack of Italian restaurants in the area (don't even ask about La Dolce Vita up the road towards Castle Pines), who really is going to know what good Italian food is? It's too bad that they didn't name their restaurant ""Sienna"" (the English spelling) instead of ""Siena"", since that would be a more accurate description of their food - the English version of Italian. Pros: decent patio, center of town location Cons: food is mediocre Italian more

Great customer service as well as food. 4/10/2007

The wait staff was prompt and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. This is a great place for Italian food, but you will find something for everyone (steak, seafood, etc.). Pros: Great customer service, and food. more

Wonderful place to enjoy drinks and food in Castle Rock. Everything couldn't have been better 4/4/2007

We had dinner there a few Fridays ago and was delighted by the Restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful and you felt so welcome upon entering. We sat at the bar and had drinks for happy hour 4-6 and the prices were really reasonable. The whole bar area was really fun. Then we were seated and had the Crostini with Tabpenades for an appetizer which was enough to share. The waiter was good as well and brought us extra breads too. The food was outstanding. All the items were ordered were delivered promptly and were delicious. We also had a bottle of wine, dessert and coffee. Our bill for 4 was only $150.00. We loved it and can't wait to return again. Thanks Siena for being close to home and a wonderful place to dine. Can't wait for summer for that patio to open. Pros: Excellent Service, Great Food, Wonderful Atmosphere, Fun Bar more
