This place is awesome because its open way late. Whenever I'm near the beach cities in the late evening, The Kettle is my first choice! more

I went in and ask for a table of 2, they made me sit down and wait even though over half the tables were empty. Then when I was seated I decided on the Breakfast Burrito which did not have any meat listed. I confirmed with the waiter that there was no meat in it as I am a strict vegetarian and get extremely sick, he said nope that one never has meat in it! I get my food in an okay timely manor. I start eating the pre-wrapped burrito and I start seeing pieces of what looks like bacon. I ask my boyfriend to try it, the server comes out and says it must have been a stray piece and hes sorry, then we open it up and it is full of bacon!!!! A few minutes later a very unprofessional man approached my table and said ""so.. your a vegetarian, and we just served you bacon *shrugs shoulders"" sorry 'bout that we will take if off your tab, and walks away. He was so cocky and not sincere at all. Plus he never introduced himself, I don't know if he was the chef or the owner. Minutes later I was in their rest room throwing up, when I come out I find that they still charged my boyfriend for his meal, even though our total lunch experience, anniversary, and day was ruined. Awful experience. more

I took my brother here when he came to visit. They have the best breakfast in Manhattan Beach! Try the eggs pain perdu they will not be disappointing. He loved it so much and we went back another 3 times during his 2 week stay! more

Hmmm. Does Denny's restaurant rate this high. I could have sworn I just ate at Denny's. The food, the service, and what are the hours? Denny's is fine for it's purpose. But, it is maybe a 2 star restaurant. So, I give one star for pretending to be different than Denny's, cause it doesn't taste different. more

First time visit. Reviewed all ratings. Really looking forward to visit. Waiter screwed my order up. Finally when I got the right order after everyone at the table had finished. No appoligy , also readjusted the bill so it was a higher price, no coffee refill for people waiting for me to finish.. Needless to say won't visit again. This is a nice place to go for a relaxing breakfast any day of the week, the food is fresh, the staff is friendly, and the location is spectacular, right near the beach, great place to spend a lazy sunday morning reading the paper. Though the food is not spectacular, it is the fairly easy-going vibe and breakfast-for-dinner-at-one in the morning that gets the crowds here. Waiters and waitresses are hit-or-miss in terms of personality and dependability, but usually it's a good experience. I wouldn't go for anything ornate or even ambitious. Try pancakes, eggs, french toast, or dessert. Some salads are good and you can't go wrong with grilled cheese or mac and cheese. Kids love chocolate chip pancakes and big fat french fries. I see someone I know literally every time I am here--it is a Manhattan Beach staple. Pros: Fun! Cons: Not gourmet more

I don't like to complain, but I had an awfull time here. I took some friends, to show them what all the fuss was about- and i was so embarassed. Here's what I learned- Don't try the bbq chicken salad- my friend barely touched it- it liooked awful. Also, If you find a hair in your food (like I did) Don't tell the waitress! She was so ornery, she seemed angry with me for letting her know! I got a snappy retort, ""So, d'ya want me to bring you a new one, or what?"". Maybe it was just a bad night- but I haven't been back. I have to admit, I have never been to the Kettle before midnight and that fact that they have bouncers at the door kind of says it all. It is great late night dining after hours of frolicking at the neighboring bars. Avoid the wait and grab a seat at the counter. Priceless entertainment comes along with with the seat and the yummy food. more

One of my favorite places in the South Bay. They have an extensive menu which is great if you want to make sure there is something on the menu that will appeal to everyone. Great sandwiches, omelettes, pasta, salads, appetizers, soups, desserts... like I said there is something for everyone. Great value on glasses of wine. My favorite meal is their French Onion Soup (which rules) and a glass of Zinfandel - I am in heaven! And on top of all of it, they are open 24 hours and they seriously have some of the best servers in the South Bay. I'm rarely disappointed. If you're hungry, this place has it. Most 24 hr. places don't have many options, but this place has everything you want. It does get a little busy, but then again, there aren't many places open that can offer good food and service at all hours of the day , so it's well worth the wait if you're hungry after a long night out on the town. My favorite is their Vinaigrette dressing. If you get a salad, you have to have that dressing. So, if you're looking for the perfect late night munchies fix, cozy up at the The Kettle. I first heard of this place when I was just driving by from Palos Verdes. When I came back one evening, I was hooked. Their wraps are great, and I liked the ambiance when I was there in the wee hours of the morning. It has been a long time since I've had the pleasure of dining at such an excellent restaurant. The service is top notch; friendly staff, prompt service, willing to customize the order for what you exactly want. Here is an excerpt from their menu ""This menu is merely a guideline, feel free to be creative"", its this kind of unique flavor that gives this place a really homey and comfortable feel. Don't think thats all they have to offer though, the food they offer is top quality, and they bring it out faster than you can eat it. We live in West LA and come to MB on the weekends and eat here. The food is tasty, the portions are big, and the service is excellent. We like the prices as well. We tried everything from appetizers to entrees and couldn't find something we didn't like. On top of all this, it has very nice and comfy outside seating which we really enjoyed. Although during lunch and immediately after tanning hours it gets really crowded. But, I highly recommend this place to everyone. I don't know if it was the fact we were on vacation or simply the restaraunt was so good, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the Kettle! We were only in Manhatten beach for 4 days, but we ate at the Kettle twice....we should have had all our meals there! ( another local eatery seriously blew!) We will definitely be back!!!Try the CAlifornia Benedict...mmmm...yummy! more

I've been eating at THE KEETLE for at least 10yrs. But the last few times going, were disappointing. Walking in smelled stale. And the breakfast was at it's worst ever. The potatoes were still cold from the fridge. The muffin was as hard as heck. Yet the service was as great as it gets. But when you're hungry, great service does not do the body good. We left most of our food untouched. It was pretty sad. Pros: friendly, great coffee, always open Cons: freshen up a bit, cold food, stale food more
