The People's Pub is a cozy, friendly, dark wood kind of bar. The service really good most of the time, but some of the waitstaff get a little flustered and sloppy on Friday and Saturday nights.
The food and beers here are remarkable, and German. Deep Fried Pickles, Schnitzles, and Stuffed Beats yum. (Of course, you can also get a basic burger and fries, or veggie sandwich.) Bizarrely, you can also now get Creme Brulee if thats your thing. The Beer list is so long that despite my best efforts, I am still meandering my way to its end. There is a full-service bar, and their kitchen is open until 1 AM.
Also, there are games. Games of all shapes, sizes, degrees of complexity, and content are here. Everything from Cribbage to Operation, and from Go to Boggle. Do not underestimate the joy of games. Even if you are not playing, and have no intention ever to roll dice in a bar, the vibe in this bar is, well, playful.
