yummy yummy yummy. you can't go wrong here! 8/13/2007

I love love love the Pastaria. I remember when it first opened, replacing a very ordinary not very tasty restaurant, and I was so happy to try it and find that it has a very unique atmosphere, wonderful food, and reasonable prices. My favorite has always been the penne with vodka sauce, pine nuts, feta, and sundried tomatoes, but the lasagna, putanesca, seafood linguini, and bolognese are all to die for. The baked brie and steamed artichokes are great to start, and the house salad has the best vinaigrette on it I've ever tasted. They bring out homemade, warm bread while you wait and have good wines. Its a little crazy here thurs-sat, but they take reservations, so make one! Profiteroles for dessert = heaven after a delicious meal! Best Italian, for the best price. And its totally fine for small groups, romantic dates, and bringing the kids! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Cozy & Comfortable 4/30/2007

We've dined here many times in small groups and with our kids. The food and service is consistently very good. Make sure to get in early or be prepared to wait for 30 minutes or so on a Friday/Saturday night. more

Yummy food, good prices, OK service 4/10/2007

The food is so yummy and at such a great value it is easy to overlook the casual service. The waitstaff is very friendly, but often very busy. Make reservations but don't be surprised to wait a few extra minutes to be seated. If you are in a hurry, you might want to save this place for another night. Pros: Delicious food, good prices, fun atmosphere Cons: Sometimes service is a little slow more

Cozy, Romantic, Delicious!! 9/27/2006

My husband and I went here for the first time last night and were pleasantly surprised! It was even better than we had hoped for. I LOVE fresh pasta but usually it's hard to find restaurants that are willing to take the time to make it. Not here! I ordered the Fettuccini Arrabiatta which tasted so fresh and delicious. My husband had the Canneloni and he felt the same about his dish. We started out with the baked brie (yum!) and also had the cesar salad, a fabulous chianti and tried the tiramisu! Everything was 100% fabulous! We will definitely be back. Very reasonable too! Pros: Great wine, Delicious fresh pasta, Cozy atmosphere Cons: Bathroom in weird location more

The BEST EVER!!! 4/4/2006

When I want Italian food this is the only place I want to go. Everyone their is so friendly and they have such a warm atmosphere. The food is amazing once you try something you'll be hooked and will never want to order anything else, but it is the only italian restaurant you will be eating at for the rest of your life. The wine is excellent and is so reasonably priced. Pros: Food, accepts reservations Cons: They are very busy more

My favorite Italian restaurant! 9/15/2005

This is our favorite Italian restaurant! Even when we were in Italy, we longed for the food at Pastaria (I'm ashamed to admit it but it's true). The baked brie is a must (with delicious hot ciabatta bread). Some favorites are the pasta puttanesca (even if you don't like anchovies, the tomato sauce is rich and perfect), aglio e olio (simple but tasty - portion is small so keep in mind if you're a big eater), chicken parmesan, penne with seafood, many more! Ambience is nice and friendly, totally relaxed and unpretentious. Only downside is that it's small and popular so sometimes even with a reservation, you might have to wait. Just get a glass of wine and enjoy the Los Gatos summer from the camping chairs set up outside! Pros: Food, Friendly, Parking (usually) Cons: Busy more
