Best Thai place in town!! 11/1/2006

We have tried just about all the Thai restaurants in the South Bay and this little jem is the best there is. The food is consistently outstanding. The curries (especially GangKaRee Gai) are light and flavorful. Spice level is conveniently based on stars (we get our curry with three stars and as spicy as we like it without searing your tastebuds numb). Stirfries are excellent (best Thai Basil Chicken -- not too sweet -- than any restaurant from Palo Alto to San Jose), and their noodle dishes are also delicious. Try the Pad Woon Sen (pan-fried vermicelli noodles) or the Pad Kee-Mao or the Pad See-Ew -- they are all very good. This restaurant is exceptional because everything we've tried is what I call a ""repeat"" because I would gladly order it again and again. Pros: Excellent food and service; plenty of parking; relaxed setting more

The BEST Thai food around!!! 10/21/2006

I've eaten at so many different Thai restaurants and this is by far the best. The restaurant is very clean and the people are pleasant and friendly. The food was excellent!! It was so wonderful to have all the different fresh vegetables in my Panang curry. We also ordered the basil fish, Pad Thai, and the grilled chicken for our entree. SO good! We were scraping the plates. The food tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The desserts were even more delicious. We had the fried banana with coconut ice crean and the sweet rice with ice cream. Best I've ever had! Our kids loved it and we won't go anywhere else again when we want some 'real' good Thai food. Presentation was also very nice. Pros: best Thai/ good prices more

Great eat-in dining and take-out corporate catering 10/17/2006

I discovered this place only a month ago, but have since eaten there three times. The food is wonderful. The chef has a talent for blending flavors and cooking both chicken and tofu in a way that keeps them moist and flavorful. My personal favorites are the yellow curry with chicken and stir-fried eggplant with tofu. Pros: Great eat-in dining and take-out corporate catering Cons: My expanding waistline more

Very friendly service and great food 7/18/2006

The Old Siam is quite a find although it's not in the busiest plaza. Along with lunch specials (6.59), they also have a day-to-day special at 4.59. Waters were refilled constantly and with a smile. I've been here three times and it's always the same people serving, so it's a real family run restaurant. The food is very very good, especially the curries. For such cheap prices, they make a great effort to have their dishes in a nice presentation. Pros: Cheap prices, good food, helpful attentive service Cons: small space more

""Real"" authentic Thai food, great service, and best coconut icecream anywhere! 6/21/2006

I enjoyed the meal with my family very much. This is real authentic Thai food as I can find in Thailand where I grew up. Tom kha soup is delicious. The appetizer combo plate is awesome. My favorite is BBQ pork with papaya salad (som-tum) and sticky rice. I did try spicy egg plant dish and it was satisfying. The food is all garnished nicely which makes me enjoy eating even more. I tried the homemade coconut icecream for a dessert. It is superb! Just one of a kind. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. Great service. The price is affordable. This is the place that I definitely recommend to my friends. I will definitely go back to try the rest in the menu! Pros: Delicious Thai food and great service, ambience, parking Cons: Can't think of any! more

Quick fix for normal thai cuisine and very affordable. 6/20/2006

My first time today to eat in as I was brought there by a friend. The tables and chairs reminds of restaurants in Thailand and definitely cozy atmospere with slight elegance. Great place to have a date or meet with old friends, as well as have business luncheons. Pros: Really good thai food with service. Cons: Not sure if there were any cons?? more

Best pad thai, yellow curry, and fried banana! 6/19/2006

Simply the best Thai food experience I've ever had--waitresses are friendly and curteous, food are super delicous, portions are just good size, shrimps are BIGGGG, curry is Thai spicy and authentic. Did I mention to try their dessert?! Both sticky rice with mango and fried banana are best in town. more

Best Thai food period! 6/17/2006

I used to lived in Thailand. when it comes to Thai food, I know how they should taste like. This little new Thai place sure does have that real Thai punch. I saw they just opened so I checked it out. Pleasantly surprised, the food is really good - thai BBQ pork is the best I've tried. panang curry is very good (if you like tasty food). the owner is nice enough to give me free coconut ice cream sample. reasonable priced. definitely a comeback Pros: good food, low price Cons: none so far more
