Best

This was our third trip to OLB. The first two were horrendous due to the service, but things seem to have changes. Our server was very friendly, prompt, and took great care of us....

Worst

My husband and I tried Old Blinking Light twice. It has a very interesting menu with a sort of Tex-Mex/Southwestern flair on every item. The first time we thought the food was p...

Very Prompt 8/9/2011

This was our third trip to OLB. The first two were horrendous due to the service, but things seem to have changes. Our server was very friendly, prompt, and took great care of us. The food has always been outstanding if you are in the mood for American food with a Southwest flair more

Great Find 8/2/2011

We are new to the area and this was a great find ... fresh and scratch, great variety, fabulous drinks too. From basic to eclectic menu items, this is a neat place. Next time we'll sit on the patio by the fire pit. more

Impressed 8/1/2011

This was my first dining experience with the OBL and I was absolutely impressed. The food was amazing, the service was terrific, and our entire party commented (some even the next day) about the wonderful find in Highlands Ranch. OBL will now be a frequent stop for us! more

great experience 7/29/2011

"I took my girlfriend here for our 1st Valentines together. I couldn't of asked for a better place. The food was outstanding and full of flavor! The atmospher was relaxing and romantic with the fire all around. Noise level where very quite, the bar looked fun. Overall I would stonglly recommend this resurant for any ocation. I don't see it working well with younger children." more

Overall great Food 7/25/2011

Thoroughly impressed. Food was excellent. One of those hard to find restaurants that has a quality of a food you would expect to pay $50 or more per person but is only $15. Best enchiladas in Denver, I am from AZ and know my mexican food, their red sauce is amazing, you can tell the make it themselves with actual peppers. Bacon wrapped buffalo meat loaf was excellent. Overall great food, great selection, and I will be going back regularly. more

Great 7/22/2011

Great menu with a variety of unique preparations. Great atmosphere. Only complaint was that the waiter continued to place blame on everyone and everything else for his lack. But overall, it was a great place to eat and enjoy the company. more

Decent Place 7/20/2011

This is a decent place to eat in the Ranch. Parents, look up the word baby sitter, google it. There is a Red Robin down the street if you are compelled to drag your toddlers to dinner, don't bring them here. Please. more

Unique & Tasty 7/18/2011

we enjoyed the relaxed feel. It was too cold tosit outside, but the view of the fire pit is always fun. The Nat's salad was unique and tasty! more

Great happy hour 7/12/2011

Great happy hour food specials. Too loud for a special occasion or romantic dinner. more

favorite places to eat 7/11/2011

The OBL is one of my favorite places to eat. The beef enchiladas are excellent. They are even better with a fried egg. The margaritas are great. And if you are in the mood for some sweets, the OBL sundae is awsome. Two scoops of ice cream on top of fried banana bread. What a treat. more

One of the best secrets 7/6/2011

One of the best secrets in south denver. So yummy! Love the decor and firepit. Try the duck salad or fried avocado. Their new chef has really turned this place around. more

You wont be disappointed! 7/5/2011

Brian, behind the bar, shakes up the best cosmos we have ever had! They are so good that I asked him to share the recipe and he did. But as often as I practice, I never make them quite as good. The servers are great and they really work at remembering repeat customers. It is like a Cheers bar gone urban. They used to have "fat" duck fat fries but made a switch awhile back to thinner ones which are too similar to other restaurants. We like the "fat" ones better. Go during happy hour and try out a few of their 1/2 price appetizers and cosmos. You won't be disappointed! more

Cant say enough!!! 6/28/2011

this is one of the only restaurants outside of cherry creek or downtown denver that stands above the rest of the chains and commercial grade cooks . I love the happy hour seven days a week! and the chef always comes to the table and asks if we want to be offered something off the menu. This is what I think all chefs could do, and learn from. The handmade pasta brings me back to sitting in my moms kitchen as a child. I hope you all get in and say hi to chef kyle. and his sous chef leslie makes the best deserts! can't say enough!!!! more

Great Food & Service 6/27/2011

Just ate at OBL for the first time tonight. Great food, the service was spot on (Matt is a great server), and the atmosphere was laid back. We saw all ages enjoying OBL; families, singles, friends, first dates and married couples. If OBL were in Larimer, Tamayo would have serious competition. more

Food was tasty 6/23/2011

What I liked: food was tasty, fireplace was cozy; folks were friendly; what I didn't like: another group was seated right next to us and the place was almost empty, my friend and I split an entree, the ravioli, and though delicious, we each only got 2, yes 2, ravioli each--it would've been nice if the waiter had mentioned that there would only be 2 apiece and no sides at all before we shelled out $22! more

Fried acocado! 6/20/2011

Never had such a fun bar experience! Best margaritas! I am going to eat there whenever I can. Nicest staff. Including the manager Lance, really accommodating group. Made me feel at home. Fried avocado! more

Service was immaculate 6/13/2011

Went back a second time. Food was incredible. Service was immaculate. Glad I gave these guys a second chance. more

Great Independent Restaurant 6/10/2011

The Old Blinking Light Is a hip, trendy, cozy, comfortable dining emporium for guests of all ages. The atmosphere pulsates with a positive attitude. The food delivers with passionate flavors assembled into colorful dishes that are not disguised by flamboyance. Also, they have an attractive wine list both, in quality and price. Service is refreshingly polished and refined. In an area that is developing to be bound by chain restaurants and hopefully not gagged by chain restaurants, the OBL has the potential to be one of Denver's really great independent restaurants. It can hold its own anywhere. more

Greeted as soon as we walked in 6/6/2011

Had dinner there on Friday night. OMG what a fun great place to hang out and have dinner. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The hostess was really friendly and we waited only a few minutes for a great booth. The waitress Annie was right there to take our Drink order and helped us suggest appetizers and dinner. I have the OBL Cosmo, which was incredible. Started with the Tuna Tartare which was out of this world delicious. Also the homemade salsa was to die for. I order the potato crusted Scallops and my husband had their baby back ribs. They were the amazing. They were fall off the bone good. The chef came over and asks us how dinner was and he was so nice. Definitely going back to this restaurant often. more
