A True Melting Experience! 10/1/2003

I dont agree that the Melting Pot is all that it is cracked up to be. There is nothing romantic about $100 boiled meat! To top it off they close you up in a melting pot of your own, to sweat while you eat, not my idea of romantic. Pros: Great Dessert Cons: Hot and stuffy, Gross boiled meat, over priced more

Perfect In Every Way. 5/22/2003

Took some old friends from out of town here and they absolutely loved every bit of the ""experience."" At The Melting Pot they bring the food out to you and you cook it (fondue-style) in your cooking style of choice. The four-course meals are great in the amount and quality of food you are given. We started with a cheese fondue and we dipped breads, apples, and vegetables in- super start to the evening! Then I had a California salad with delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing. On to the main course! We had the colossal, the center cut filet mignon, jumbo prawns, and lobster tail were VERY popular around the table. Finally, we had the ""Turtle"" for dessert, which was a fondue of chocolate and caramel to dip strawberries, cheesecake and marshmallows into. The service was excellent as well, as the waiter expertly guided us through all of courses. Highly recommended! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

Valentines Day 2/18/2003

The service and food were awesome, atmosphere could not have been better. Definate recommend for first date. My buddy proposed at the one in Ahwatukee ... always a blast! more

Fondue 101 2/17/2003

As a fondue virgin, I had no idea what was going to happen at this place. I heard great things so we got a group and went to give it a try. The food was excellent and the server was so much fun. The whole time we were there we were laughing. Kudos to Melting Pot for giving me fondue 101. Pros: SERVICE, Food quality, SERVICE Cons: no west side location more

Perfect Night Out 2/17/2003

The Melting Pot is without a doubt one of the most romantic restaurants in Phoenix. If you have not tried it yet do yourself a favor and check it out. CALL AHEAD you will need to with how busy they are. Thank you Melting Pot for making my last visit a Perfect Night Out!!!!!! Pros: ROMANTIC, Wine List, Service Cons: Parking more

Not worth the $$$ 2/9/2003

MASSIVELY overpriced, food quality mediocre at best. Don't waste your money. more

money thrown away 1/31/2003

very expensive, waiter told us how much percentage his tip should be while he leaned against the wall. more

puppybreath 1/31/2003

The Melting Pot is not a place to go for good food. The flavor is below average and the portions are small compared with the price. The two highlights of the visit would be the atmosphere and the staff. I will not make a second visit. Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, Beverages Cons: Price, Quality, Flavor more

Another Must Do In Scottsdale 1/28/2003

Take your time and enjoy! For dinner, use the Coq Au Vin style cooking method, it is wonderful. The real flavor of the food comes out. Any of the deserts are wonderful. Spend the three hours with a loved one and you will not regret this meal. more

FUN FUN FUN 12/4/2002

When I heard that this restaurant took two or three hours to eat I was slightly uncertian about enjoying myself. Let me tell you we had the time of our lives. Service was A+ and the food excellent. All seven of us agree this a place to add to your list of places to dine. Pros: FUN, service, food quality Cons: reservations needed more

NOT WORTH IT 12/4/2002

Ok, I will admit that I had a good time, but that does not necessarily mean that I want to repeat it. THe food is good, expensive though and I am not sure if it is that worth it. The waitstaff is ok, definitely not what it should be for paying $100+ on a meal that you cook yourself. I have a guy friend that this is his first date restaurant. Impressive, but not somewhere that you must go back to. Pros: romantic Cons: expensive more

Very enjoyable 12/2/2002

Had a great time enjoying food that was a little different. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Yes, a little overpriced but great fun! more

Noticed in the Wine Spectator 11/16/2002

I went here after noticing them in the wine spectator. I have always been interested in tasting new foods and boy am I glad that I did. We had and excellent experience. The food was fresh and ample portions were served including a delicious choloate fondue to finish the meal. As a wine ""geek"" I was very impressed with the wine list, with about 200 selections. I recommend the coq au vin style of cooking which they make table side and consists of a light broth, herbs, spices and the most important part burgundy red wine. It added a unique flavor to the food. Enjoy ourself! Pros: wine list, romantic, great service Cons: need reservation more

Great place to Celebrate 11/12/2002

I went here for my birthday. The restaurant was very quiet, private and romantic. The prices were high but the food was excellent. The wine list was extensive and the dessert was the best part. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Pros: Delicious, Relaxed and Private, Innovative Cons: Expensive, Not very filling more

group party place 11/8/2002

We had a large group of people for my birthday and we had a blast. The group area was excellent for the twenty two of us. The staff of the Melting Pot is like a well oiled machine, they took extra good care of us. All of my friends loved it too. I have also been to the Scottsdale location and it was just as good. Pros: large group area, service, location more

ROMANTIC AND MORE 11/8/2002

This place is excellent, I can not tell you how much fun I have here. The food is always fresh and service is A+. It does take some time so do not plan on a quick meal. Melted chocolate is soooo good! They also have a very nice wine selection. I recommend calling for reservations as it can get busy. Oh yeah and ask for a curtain booth if you are two, now that is romantic. Pros: Romantic, Wine List more

Planning Needed! 10/23/2002

Well, if you like Fondue, THIS IS THE PLACE!! Surley it's 'over priced', but that's the way Fondue is! At least, proper Fondue! Exquisit food! An experience that has to be explored by everyone! Mind you, it is expensive!!! Pros: YUMMY!! Cons: Expensive more

Fantastic Fondue! 10/15/2002

I took my wife to the Melting Pot for our 25th Anniversary, hoping that everything I had heard about the restaurant's romantic atmosphere was true, and I was not disappointed! My wife and I loved everything about the meal, she even commented to me that this was the best anniversary dinner we had ever enjoyed- the food was delicious and came in wonderful portions- we chose the four-course meal and each course was more delicious than the last! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a romantic evening. Pros: Ambience, Food, Service more

Lots of Money for a little bit of food. 10/3/2002

The food was overpriced for the small amount of food that was served. It cost almost $70 for two people for food alone and we ordered the least expensive options on the menu. The food was tasty, but the portions were small. Pros: good service, good ambiance Cons: very expensive, small portions, poor value more

Exquisite Dining! 9/26/2002

Excellent place to take friends/spouse/out of town guests. I was searching for a special restaurant to wow my in-laws at when I happened to notice The Melting Pot . What a lucky sighting! Everyone was amazed by the huge portions of delicious food and great atmosphere. We had all been accustomed to the ""standard"" mature dining places, but this was a great change of pace! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place to take guests in town and really impress them. The Colossal Fondue, with its lobster, filet mignon, teriyaki sirloin and much more is highly recommended. Everyone was full and very satisfied. We'll be back again! Thanks to our waiter too, he was wonderful! Pros: Ambience, Food, Service more
