Great Fun and Food 11/28/2011

I like the idea I can see I'm getting quality food. And, I'm always watching my weight. This is a place where you can control portions and know what you are really eating. I did splurge and ate the chocolate fondue with fruit. That was great and worth the calories. Will return when I go back to Orlando. more

VERY FUN FOR OUR WHOLE FAMILY! 2/27/2011

It was a unique atmosphere! The food wasn't phenomenal but it was not bad by any means. I loved the cheese fundue, as did my 2 year old and my husband. The meat portion was pretty good, but Im not a fan of ""boiled"" filet, but the shrimp and lobster was really good! The desert part was also delicous! more

Don't go unless you have money to blow 12/22/2010

Very expensive. Food wasnt that great. Good service but a bit pushy on selling extra items and gift cards. Unless you have an extra 100 bucks laying around (for two people) and your only choices are burn the money or eat here..then eat here. more

Good Fun Food---but not worth the price. 3/13/2009

The quality of the food is good, but the fun of frying and dipping does NOT justify $250 for a family of five (not including the tip)!!! Way to much for what it is! Pros: The quality of the food & the fun of making it! Cons: THE PRICE for what it is---yikes! more

Middle of the road 10/8/2008

As this is my first visit to Orlando, I have used citysearch as a guide for dining. After reading the reviews here, my wife and I decided to give it a try for something a little different. We started our meal with the cheese fondue appetizer. We chose the cheddar cheese which was prepared in front of us consisting of a mixture of beer, garlic, worcheshire and of course cheddar cheese. I think there were a couple more ingredients but I cant remember what they were. We were then given breads and vegetable and apples to dip in the cheese. I personally did not like the cheese concoction and I am from Wisconsin and I like cheese. It seemed to have some sort of wang (technical term) to it. My wife thought it was just ok. Next came the salad, we both chose the house salad. It was a good salad with a special house dressing that was quite tasty. After that came the entree. My wife chose the chicken and I chose the sirloin. Both came with potato's and veggies and a variety of sauces and batter. We chose to cook ours in the oil as opposed to the broth. The meat was good quality and the sauces offered a variety of flavors. The hard part was the cooking. You are each given 2 forks to cook with so obviusly you will only have at most 2 peices of food to eat. On the flip side, your food is always hot. In the end, we were both too full to try the chocolate fondue for desert which was disappointing. All in all, it was fun. We don't see ourselves doing it again mostly because as it has been mentioned, it is pricey. With tip, we came out paying $75.00. I am sure I can get a better meal in this town for that money. If you want to do something different and have a little fun, this is a fondoo. If you are looking to relax and for really good food, this is a fondon't. Pros: Fun to cook your own food and makes for fun with company Cons: Paying high prices to cook your own food more

In a nutshell--overpriced bland food served in a nice ambiance. more

A great night out! 3/31/2007

This isn't a place like Friday's where you go once a week when you are too tired to cook. There are some reviews saying its overpriced but it is well worth it. I've gone to the one in Maryland as well as the one in Florida. The desert is one of the best deserts anywhere. Freshly melted chocolates of any kind, although Milk chocolate is the best. The white is good but it doesn't go with everything on the tray served with it and dark is, well, dark. The dinner alone is small if you don't buy the meal with the cheese to start, and a desert to finish but if you get the entire meal, you won't want to eat again for a year. My favorite dinner would be the tenderloin steak with the teriyaki sauce. Pros: Awesome food, and ambience. Cons: The prices are high. more

I don't get it 3/16/2007

We finally tried it after driving by everyday on the way home. I just don't get it. The food was extremely over priced, the broth was super salty and the dark chocolate was waxy and cheap tasting. For the price ($100 for two of us) there are a million places I'd rather go. I guess the experience was fun for about a second but next time I'll spend my money on a great cut of meat and a fine bottle of wine and look to my dinner companion for entertainment. Pros: ??? Cons: Over priced, Long wait more

Romantic and Delicious 2/8/2007

If romance and great food are what you are looking for, make this your next destination. I have eaten here four times, and have had great food and service each time. I have loved everything that I have eaten, but unless you have a huge appetite, the four-course dinner is too much food. more

Can't Wait To Go Back 2/27/2006

This was my first dining experience at the Melting Pot and it was delicious and memorable. We went in a group of 4 and ordered two of everything in order to get a better idea of the food. The Spinach Artichoke Dip (Appetizer, Ask For It, Its Not On The Menu Yet) was one of the best I have ever had. The food is fresh and you get to take your time which is always a plus. The price is steep but its definitely worth it, considering the amount and quality of food you are getting. I will definitely be back soon! more

My favorite restaurant ever 1/15/2006

I can't give enough praise to the melting pot. This place is great for a date or special occassion, it's also been my favorite restaurant since I was about 6 -- in my 20s now. When you're not hungry enough for a huge meal, I go in and just get cheese, salad, and chocolate. Their salad dressing is also the best! I always buy a few bottles to take home. The staff is always very nice, and I've been to a few of these all around the country. If you're going to bring kids, make sure they are responsible enough to know not to reach towards the hot pots. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service more

this place is great! 9/3/2005

This is one of our favorite special occassion places. It is a little pricey, but it is such a cool dining experience, it's worth it. The California salad is my favorite restaurant salad. The cheeze fondue is awesome if you even remotely like cheeze. We like to cook our entrees in the oil rather than the healther broth :) And of course you MUST save room for a chocolate fondue dessert! It's fun and delicious! Pros: FUN, delicious Cons: pricey more
