Best

we had a wonderful time watching the Celtics kick the Spurs in San Antonio..the multiple TVs allowed us to see everything and even catch some of the (NFL network only/meaningless)...

Worst

Over priced- small portions. Some of the staff is of less than stellar character. The food is good but as I have already stated far overpriced even for its quality.

Bad Food Good Service 10/7/2011

The customer service here was fine but the Haddock came out from the kitchen with a funny smell and weird taste to it. Their ""mixed vegetables"" were giant slices of green peppers and huge chunks of onion. The jasmine rice that was suppose to be with the haddock came with whit rice instead. On the menu the pasta primavera states that it comes comes with squash and zucchini When the plate came out it was mostly angel hair pasta with shavings of the vegetables an a lot of them were just the skins. For a restaurant that has been branded by Phantom Gourmet we were not happy with the food. 2 thumbs down. Note: The staff did refund us for the Haddock as we wouldn't even eat it. more

the fun never stops 12/3/2009

we had a wonderful time watching the Celtics kick the Spurs in San Antonio..the multiple TVs allowed us to see everything and even catch some of the (NFL network only/meaningless) Bills vs Jets game my wife loved the Heartbreak Cosmo and the bartenders were the BEST!!..friendly atmosphere...good service...great food we had the calamari & some crabcakes...both were reasonably priced and DELICIOUS!!! Pros: fabulous drinks & friendly accomodating staff Cons: none so far... more

Great Bar, amazing bartenders 11/25/2009

From the bat the bartenders greeted us with a big smile, and there is nothing I like more! They have a great beer selection, and 8 beers on draft, the prices are great, from 3.50 to 5.50 for 20oz. The wine is also reasonably priced, my husband found four he loves, and the wine by the bottle has some great selection that are over $100-$150 in Boston, here they are HALF the price! The burgers are overpriced, but the pizzas are HUGE and only 10$!! Ask for Kat, she is our fav bartender, and she will hook you up! Loved the chocolate bread pudding! Fresh & Creative 11/20/2009

My Fiance & I were so excited to have a new place in town that I broke my cardinal rule--NEVER go to a restaurant that's been open less than a year as it generally takes that long to work the kinks out. Not so at Marathon--it's apparent that they did their homework prior to opening. The food is fresh and consistent. The Chef and menu are creative (TRY THE CALAMARI if you like ""heat""), and the wait staff is friendly and well-educated on the menu (though if there's something they're not sure of, they'll find out). The entire staff at Marathon makes you feel like THEY want to be there which gives the place a fantastic vibe. We are so excited to have a local but GREAT restaurant so close to home! Thanks Marathon! Pros: Wait staff, calamari, atmosphere..... Cons: Easily fixed, but getting the check before finishing dinner more

Yummy food, great service, super for kids 11/14/2009

Kyle, our server, was great. Steak tips were perfect. Kids enjoyed reasonably priced menu. Kids also loved oreo cookie ice cream dessert. We almost left when we arrive. Parking lot was full and we assumed restaurant would have a wait. Don't be fooled. There is free valet parking. Valet was good enough to check seating for us and then park our car for us. Hope they are successful. They have been big supporters of the Hopkinton schools so I had to try them out and we were pleased! Pros: Great kids menu, ample portions, tasty steak tips Cons: parking can be misleading -- looks full and it isn't! more

Try it - You'll love it. 11/13/2009

Let me first say that there basically aren't any good restaurants in this area, period. The Marathon is a godsend for me because I am extremely picky, I'd rather just not go anywhere than ""settle"" for the multitude of lousy places and chains. Quite frequently when an important business lunch would arise, I would find myself traveling all the way out to Legal Seafood in Framingham to have anything close to a satisfactory experience. Have visited 3X now, food has been basically perfect across the board. Service is outstanding with happy, outgoing, attentive and very cute waitstaff. I pray they succeed because the economy is just so awful right now. If this place were open 12 years ago during EMC's heyday it would have been booked solid every day of the week and require reservations. Pros: Awesome Food, Wonderful Service Cons: Um, none 4 me and I'm rarely satisfied and quite impossible. more

Great Food and Location 11/9/2009

Ate lunch here recently and had a wonderful experience. Food is fresh and delicous. Had a pizza and salad. Will definately be going back. If you are in/around the Hopkinton area you have to try this place!! Pros: Food, Service Cons: nothing more

I've watched this location go through at least three owners and Marathon is by far the best so far. I've been here twice now and can confirm that the good service and food is no fluke. Pros: Wine list, creative dishes, friendly staff Cons: Some *minor* food prep issues. more

Tried it and Liked it!!!! 10/30/2009

I took my daughter to try the new Marathon restaurant in Hopkinton and I was pleasantly pleased and surprised. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. All of the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. The food was outstanding. I tried the chicken pot pie based on a recommendation from the waitress. It was really really good. Nothing like Mrs. Bud's!!! Pros: Nice atmosphere, good food, good service more
