I love it here. This is definitely one of my favorite Hollywood spots and I try to frequent the club with friends as much as possible! Kress is one fantastic place! Great vibe, gorgeous people, we travel all over, and this had to be one of the best places I have ever seen! Elegant and crazy at the same time! We're not hollywood scenesters but we googled the club and found www.guestlisthollywood (dot) com. We were surprised when they put us in contact with a host who gave us VIP treatment and who hooked us up with a great table. more

Kress was GREAT! I know it gets some crappy reviews, because it's hard to get into unless you get there early and they value quality over quantity. We got a great table, fantastic service, and had absolutely one of the best nights I have had in awhile!!! we googled the club and found www.guestlisthollywood (dot) com. We were surprised when they put us in contact with a host who gave us VIP treatment and who hooked us up. more

Best food in town 7/7/2011

Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood. The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you. The appetizers are delicious. Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance. Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived more

THIS PLACE SUCKS- BATENDER GAVE HERSELF TIP ON MY TAB 4/18/2011

his place SUCKS. Ghetto ass crowd. It smells like body odor and its extremely hot. I've never seen so many ghetto people in my life. Not only does the place suck but so does the bartender. The bartender, who was an ugly ass chick with curly hair on the third floor, completely ignored me for a while. I left her ZERO tip. However, she thought she deserved something and penciled in an amount that is unheard of. I checked my statement the next day and now I can't get a hold of anyone that works here. I mean, can these owners not manage a few employees? THIS PLACE SUCKS THIS PLACE SUCKS THIS PLACE SUCKS THIS PLACE SUCKS THIS PLACE SUCKS. How can I give them negative stars??   • First things first: This place is huge. Like, so huge the main dining room alone seats 220 people. Built in 1934, the multi-level art deco-style building was originally an S.H. Kress Department Store. In 1949, it became the world headquarters for Frederick's of Hollywood. Now, after more than two years of restoration, owner Michael Viscuso (who helped resuscitate San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter) has unveiled its new-century incarnation as The Kress, a shiny larger-than-life supper club, sushi lounge, basement disco and rooftop bar. The ground level restaurant is like a temple to all things Asian with an '80s Vegas twist--red lights wash over the central wraparound bar anchored by a massive crystal chandelier, while clear acrylic bar stools, ornate black lacquer accents (including a completely restored 1930s ceiling) and gold leather banquettes dot the space. Oh, and there's two enormous fu temple dogs guarding the doorway. Not to be outdone, the menu is just as grandiose, offering everything from daily bento box specials to cook-it-yourself shrimp skewers that come presented on a 500+-degree stone. Now that's hot.
