Your Guest List Girl 3/16/2010

Kress is one of the few "megaclubs" in Hollywood and in my opinion, the bigger the better! Even though it's been open for a little while (by LA terms), it's still a neatly designed club with great DJs and one of the only rooftop parties in town. Also, they have great bottle specials... Pros: Guest List/Tables: jenlawsonproductions@yahoo.com Cons: None more

Gangstas Paradise 9/24/2009

I was one of the promoters that launched this clubs back in what seems like the stone age. It was supposed to be a $24 millions renovation but honestly I could have gone to mexico and return with staff and materials to get the job done for $100k. The multiple doors and multiple floors was alway a bad idea. The door staff were always stressed out. Security staff only respond to $20 golden handshake which always made them smile and helpful. Girls: Almost always trashy, very young and possibly underage with good fakes. Cover Charge: Dont complain about this, nightclubs provide a service and if you want that service then you must pay. If you feel that you are too special to pay, then sit your ass at home. Roof Top: If you dont get to the roof top, its because you are considered ugly. If you see other uglies on the toof top, its because they are good friends with the promoter or they came in as part of a bottle service group or they gave security a golden hand shake or a BJ. Kress has to be over crowded, its the only way they can recover some of that $24 million. Yes its always a young crowd, 21-24 mostly, this is not Vegas, New York or London, if you dont like it, stay home. This is a good destination for large groups such as birthdays and bachelor & bachelorette parties, cheap bottle service and bottle service If you are super chilled and dont mind dancing with line backers, convicts, hoodrats, east LA and compton massive then you will enjoy the atmosphere. I was last at Kress on Friday Jan 21st and the crowd on the 3rd floor seems like the best crowd out of all the floors. Why did I ever promote this club, oh yea, I had to pay rent. New clubs opens in Hollywood all the time. To find the best option for you, check out my website - www.evitaparties-com. eVita Parties provides Hollywood Guest List to Hollywood Clubs & Los Angeles Events. Pros: Just $20 Cons: none more

Not so overly excited about the Kress( insert sad face) 7/17/2009

I was thinking of a place to take friends from out of town and a associate of my recommended I try the Kress. I was embarrassed and not happy with anything that night. I asked for a manager and it took 32 minutes for him to arrive at my table and he said sorry about the service but we are quite busy tonight and walked away. I will never go back. Pros: Decor was fun Cons: Food was not tasty and expensive, snobby management & staff more

HOW IS THIS PLACE STILL OPEN? 5/23/2009

The WORST club in Los Angeles!!! This is my second time to Kress and AGAIN it left a bad taste in my mouth!!! The first time I went was when it first opened and the chef gave me a personal tour and we walked into the VIP areas without any hassle. However, I noticed Name celebrities having trouble gaining entry. What? you would think they would want real celbs in thier establishment. The service was soooo bad ranging from the nasty staff to the rude security and rude doorman. Fastforward over a year later friends suggested I join them for a fun Saturday night. The same experience except we were limited to the basement which was a cess pool of sweat and bad service. Then this woman with a clip board come charging arounf forcing us to write our name and email address. She was like its for the VIP list and U MUST sign it. She was VERY nasty and was like this is my job!! What club forces people to be on their mailing list? Secondly, when we attempted to go to other floors we were told u needed a stamp and that we needed to exiti the club and talk to some guy to get a stamp. WTF we had already bought bottles and all ( 6 people) On top of all this drama it took the waitress over 30 minutes to bring the Vodka to the table. This is the worst place on earth to go I would rather saw my fingers off with a dull butter knife than to ever return for treament that is not even fit for your worst enemy!!! Pros: NONE Cons: rude staff, treated like 2nd class citizens more

IF YOU KNOW THE RIGHT PPL, YOU GET HOOKED UP 5/23/2009

FORTUNATELY I DID! there are always those promoters who will promise you endless things in a night and never EVER deliver! I finally found a promoter who keeps her word and actually follows through with what she says she's going to do. her name's brooke. when we got to kress, my friends and i were expecting a bunch of BS like always but it was the complete opposite. she got us right in and then let us sit at her table and give us a ton of free drinks. it was amazing! i always go back now...save yourself the aggravation and go through her... brookeytp@gmail com more

Terrible 4/17/2009

I was having a decent evening on April 17th/18th until 1:50 AM rolled around and it was time to leave. I went to the male Hispanic bartender with short, spiky hair on the ground (not basement) floor to close my roughly $200 tab. He was talking to a girl. I waved to him to get my ID and credit card and he actually had the nerve to flick me off. I think he was trying to impress the girl. I had to go to the back of the building and get one of the bouncers, who seemed very professional, and have them take me to get back my id and credit card. This place has no hope of long term success (read the other reviews) as long as the owners allows his employees to treat customers in this manner. I will never return and encourage others not to learn the hard way that this is not an establishment to frequent as I did. Pros: A lot of people Cons: Typical Employee Concern with Ego over their Job more

The Place to Be 3/27/2009

Kress Club is cool. It is a staple in the Hollywood community and is huge inside. Multi-leveled and tiered into sections...people can dine, drink, party or eat. more

hung with the hubby 3/25/2009

My husband and I went to kress it was cool, getting in was a breeze, the door guy was pretty pleasant to my surprise after reading what was written about him, I was prepared to go somewhere else if it turned unpleasant. The place has a nice appearance but everything is overstated it's not the coolest spot in LA with all of the beautiful people and actors, if so they must be the ones you only know if your a groupie. All and all it was a decent spot. However the parking was rediculous. My car was parked about five feet away from me and we paid them twenty bucks for me to walk by my car upon entering and exiting. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: parking more

only ROOFTOP lounge in hollywood 3/24/2009

alright so let's talk about the kress... the place is vegas in hollywood. an ultra lounge that boasts a promising experience. at street level you have a restaurant with an expiremental menu. one floor up a sushi spot for sushi aficionados, one floor below is an underground dance club and at the very top an ultra exclusive rooftop lounge. w/ many celeb sightings there is no doubt that right now in hollywood this is the "it" place to be. This is les deux and area a year and a half ago...well actually it's KRESS ... now! The decor is vegas glamour, the cocktails are always made with fresh juices, and the crowd is good-looking and unintimidating. Want to see what the everybody is talking about? I do guest list for this club on saturday night. If you'd like guestlist consideration or to book a table send me an email with "kress guest list" in the subject line, how many people in the party (girls and guys), a myspace/ facebook link and your contact info. my email is cjatThedoor@gmail com Pros: something new to the "hollywood nightlife scene", the kress Cons: parking (arrive early and find some on hollywood blvd), stri more

Hottest Crowd in LA, but extremely hard to get into - only enter in the back! 2/26/2009

Kress - First thing don't be mistaken by entering the front as supposed to the back. If you entered the front and thought you went to Kress, you didn't you just ended up a different type of Kress Party. The entire point of going to Kress is getting to the roof which requires a stamp, which gives you access to the first, second, and fourth floor. Just like any club the club crowd is made up by the promoters and the best promoting team resides on Saturday bringing the most exclusive hottest crowd. Kress is the place to have one of the greatest Hollywood Experiences that you could ever imagine. It is the closest thing youll get to Vegas. It has all of the exclusiveness of a small club, with all of the party atmosphere of a large club. Show up with your group and youll never forget the experience. If you show up to late you could be greeted by a mob waiting outside. To make sure you enjoy the night and don't get caught up in the hassel, get on the list. To be on "the list" or for bottle service send me an email with "guest list" in the subject line how many people in the party (girls and guys) email is m_zdar@hotmail com. To guarantee entry please include a Facebook or Myspace link as well. Or visit godfatherevents com Pros: Best looking crowd I have ever seen, most beautiful women youll ever see. You wont want to leave once your in. Cons: After 11 its impossible to get in unless its not extremely packed. Parking is $20 with no close by free parking. If you don't get a stamp to the roof it could ruin your night more

The worst place, bad service, rude general manager, I wish I had taken my team to IN-N-Out 12/20/2008

I decided to take my team for a xmas dinner at this place thinking that we were going to have great food and service...I was so wrong! First of all, we were a group of 11 people and no one took the time to welcome us to the table and I had reservations. We ordered our food and our main dish came before our appetizers. The server did not who ordered what, our drinks were served incorrectly or never served at all, the food was nasty and just when I had it with the restaurant, I ask to speak with the manager and she took 20 minutes to get to the table. She never empathized with me, she even told us that everything is served as appetizers so it doesn't matter if you drink soup after your main dish. She did nothing at all for us but she made sure our bill for close to 600 was perfectly ran. I don't mind paying for great food and service but it hurts when you pay so much and you don't get what you expect. If you are thinking of going there, you might as well burn your cash! Not worth it! Pros: Nice place Cons: Food, service, management more

Worst service ever!!! 11/20/2008

I would give this place less than 1 star if I could. Not only was the food horrible but the service was absolutely shameful. Please save yourself the agony and time of dining there. The staff is very rude and inexperienced! I am banning this place and encouraging everyone I know to do the same! There are so many better places, with better drinks, food, price and service. Not worth the money and time!! more

prejeduice place ever!!! 11/9/2008

kress is the place to be... love the atmosphere, love the people..sighted many celebs at the rooftop. and the the downstarts dance floor was aight..if anything if your going to kress go for the rooftop..though it is hard to get in if you dont know anybody.take my word for it, you will have ALOT of trouble getting in if you dont know anybody, and make sure whatever promoter is doing kress, you better just make sure he is there that night that your planning to go,for a scure get in. its alot of hassle just trying to get in but once your in,you wont regret all the trouble, for rooftop that is. The people at the door are Aholes so look good and be dressed to impress, though alot of people that work at kress think there sombodys but inreality the are nobodys.dont show up at kress without having connections, cause they are aholes like dat. Pros: rooftop Cons: the front door, getting in,,ahole promoters that think there sombodys, and jugmental ppl that are the front. more

  • First things first: This place is huge. Like, so huge the main dining room alone seats 220 people. Built in 1934, the multi-level art deco-style building was originally an S.H. Kress Department Store. In 1949, it became the world headquarters for Frederick's of Hollywood. Now, after more than two years of restoration, owner Michael Viscuso (who helped resuscitate San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter) has unveiled its new-century incarnation as The Kress, a shiny larger-than-life supper club, sushi lounge, basement disco and rooftop bar. The ground level restaurant is like a temple to all things Asian with an '80s Vegas twist--red lights wash over the central wraparound bar anchored by a massive crystal chandelier, while clear acrylic bar stools, ornate black lacquer accents (including a completely restored 1930s ceiling) and gold leather banquettes dot the space. Oh, and there's two enormous fu temple dogs guarding the doorway. Not to be outdone, the menu is just as grandiose, offering everything from daily bento box specials to cook-it-yourself shrimp skewers that come presented on a 500+-degree stone. Now that's hot.
