Not a miracle worker! 3/16/2012

Just to balance some of the other reviews. HE IS NOT A MIRACLE WORKER! He is however a fine hypnotist. I had tried to quit smoking many times, and it never worked. Dr. Stiles helped me change my mindset. I have been smoke free for 6 months. Quitting was NOT automatic, but considering how many times I tried to quit before, hypnosis obviously helped. I am very thankful for his help and I would recommend his group therapy sessions. more

This works if you want it to 2/20/2012

I went to Dr. Stiles three months ago to help me quit smoking. I tryed the patch, gum and wellbutrin in the past with out success. The Hypnotherapy Clinic was my last attempt and it worked. I was a little skeptical but I kept an open mind and listened to the cd everyday for 3 weeks and I am still SMOKE FREE. What works for one may not work for everyone but I strongly recommend Dr. Bill Stiles. He must of changed his office because it didn't seem cluttered to me. Thank you Dr. Stiles more

Worked for me. I love Dr. Bill 2/10/2012

I went to Dr. Bill in February 2009. I was 189 lbs, way too much for being 5'1"" tall. I had lost weight before - weight watchers, other diet plans, just trying to eat healthy, exercising. I could never stick with it. When I did lose weight, I'd gain it all back and then some. Well, it has been 2 years now and I am still down the 42 pounds I've lost. Yes, Dr. Bill is cheap. His office is messy and a little weird. The quality of his CDs stink. But what he did WORKED for me. That's all I care about. I am healthier, look better and have lots more energy. I know I won't die of issues from being overweight. I've recommended others to Dr. Bill and will continue to. My daughter went to see his daughter, Stacey, for anxiety. She was very compassionate and caring. My daughter has now been able to deal with her issues and is sooo much better. They were a god send to both of us. If it doesn't work for someone, they probably did not listen to the CD for 21 days as instructed. As crappy as the recording is, that is the key. more

Fake There are good hypnotists in Pittsurgh he is not good. 10/22/2011

Fake degree Fake certification Phony Not Willing to help I went to this guy Bill Stiles. He calls himslef a doctor. He never spent a day in college. WPXI exposed him. watch the investigative news report video from WPXI broadcast on april 1, 2009. One day he was a factory worker the next day literally he said he was a doctor. He knows he never went to college. He knows he is not a Master Hypnotist. How does he get away with this. How do TV & radio personalities get away with lying for him. He took my money then would not answer my calls after I paid him big money. Bad news. He is a disgrace to all professionals. There are really good Hypnotists in Pittsburgh. The good hypnotists have real college degrees and tell the truth. They are real professionals. more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. 5/18/2011

I wish I had read the reviews before attending my group session. Let me also add, the Dr. has his doctorate in philosophy. I assumed he was a medical doctor, of at least a doctor of hypnotherapy (if there is such a thing). There are more reviews and one that's filtered if you look under Dr. Bill Stiles. The office waiting room is a cramped, chaotic mess. You'd think with the amount of money he gets per person he could spend some on making a good first impression, instead of spending it on suits of armor and cheap Egyptian replica ""art"". After having an overweight staffer (her defense was that she just had heart surgery) hand us cheap binders that contained info about what was good to eat and what was bad, we went into a room that I could only describe as creepy. Suits of armor, amphorae and vials, decorative ""ancient"" artwork...it was absolutely tacky and not at all calming or soothing. What should have tipped me off about what this really was ( just an intro to a diet plan I'd have to follow in order to lose weight) were all of the framed certificates that showed that the Dr. had completed various nutrition courses. After the required reading segment, while waiting in the creepy room, you get the joy of listening to the Dr. ***advertise*** his business. Why would I want to listen to a half hour of old commercials???? ***I'M ALREADY AT YOUR OFFICE, I HAVE ALREADY PAID YOU*** Why are you still trying to sell me on this????? Once the session is over, you get some CDs to take home. One is a recording of your session and the others are basically the Dr. Dean Ornish diet plan food lists being read by Dr. Stiles. The CD about the foods you should eat is so poorly recorded that its difficult to listen to. It actually sounds like it was recorded off of an old cassette. I still can't believe that I spent $250 on this. Oh- it was $250 payable in cash. No credit cards. Save some money go to the Dr. Dean Ornish center (there's one near The Waterfront) or save even more and buy any Dean Ornish book. It's seriously the same as going to Dr. Stiles...you'll just save $250 and a trip to tackyland. I'm adding a disclaimer to this, because I was notified that based on reviewer Dana B's negative review the Dr's office called her and asked why she left a negative feedback AND the Doctor responded to the feedback himself by giving his practice a 5 star review and releasing information from her session!!! : If I am contacted in any way, shape or form by ANY of the clinic's staff, or if any information about me or my session is revealed on this or any other site, I will be forced to contact my lawyer more

Unprofessional business. Waste of money! 5/18/2011

Yesterday, May, 17, 2011, ?I received a phone call from a member of Dr. Bill Stiles' staff about my review of my session at The Hypnotherapy Clinic last year. The woman was very confrontational, immediately demanding to know why I wrote what I did on Yelp. When I explained that I left an honest review of my personal experience I was repeatedly interrupted. I explained that I have a right to my opinion and did not want to get into an argument with her. Then, I ended the call. ? At no point during our exchange did the woman apologize for the negative experience I had nor did she ask if there was anything that could have been done to remedy the situation. I felt like I was put on the defensive as soon as she started the conversation with me. Her actions leave me feeling even more justified about what I posted.?I still am unsure of why they called me nor do I know what lengths they went to find my phone number. ? A mere 2 hours after she called me, a positive review appeared after mine, and then immediately after that one, a post was made by Dr. Stiles himself addressed directly at me.?Sadly, his post to me publicly aired my personal health history which I shared in confidence with Dr. Stiles at the time of my visit. I sit here completely confused and outraged that a doctor (medical or otherwise) would feel justified to publicly reveal a client's personal health history in an online forum, clearly in an attempt at revenge of some sort. (THANK YOU, YELP for pulling his post down!) ? I have to admit all of the actions that have taken place by Dr. Stiles and his staff at The Hypnotherapy Clinic further demonstrates the utter lack of professionalism and even more so enforces what I thought over a year ago.?I feel personally attacked by Dr. Bill Stiles and The Hypnotherapy Clinic for simply sharing my opinion on a review site.? I, unfortunately, paid for my services to them and I merely wanted to share my opinion.? ? ? I am in the process of finding out what legal rights I have at this time. ? Below is my original review of Dr. Bill Stiles on Yelp from 12/18/2010: Dr. Bill Stiles IS A QUACK! I went to The Hypnotherapy Clinic in March to be hypnotized for weight loss in one of the group sessions. At nearly $300, it was the biggest waste of money. I'm embarrassed that I squandered my money on his services, I but I feel it's more important to spread the word to others so that they may learn from the mistake I made. ?? Bill Stiles' weight loss advertisements are completely misleading. What he never mentions anywhere in his ads is that in all of his ""success stories"" the participants were required to follow a strict diet regimen: all fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and cutting out nearly all sugars and carbohydrates. This is certainly a healthy approach, but anyone could drop large amounts of weight by following such a limited diet plan. Hypnosis wouldn't even be necessary. ??He himself doesn't look healthy at all. Just laying eyes on him as he entered the room I instantly lost any faith in his abilities and had my doubts that a man who looked as unhealthy as he does, could help any of us. And the room! It looks as if you just stepped into a Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum. It does not look like the room of a doctor who possess any credibility. It's a pack rat's dream: with goofy knickknacks overflowing shelving and filling every corner of the room. ?? Upon leaving the hypnosis session, you are sent home with an option to buy a $5 cookbook to follow the diet plan, and a handful of hypnosis CDs to listen to that are of extremely poor quality. They are scratchy and impossible to listen to.??I'm sure there are legitimate hypnotists out there who are truly talented at what they do and have the ability to help people. But to me, Bill Stiles represents an operation that cons innocent people out their hard-earned money. more
