The Golden Needle

the store made me feel dirty when i walked in. some gowns were really nice but overpriced while others were out of style. I wouldnt recommend this store more

After months and months of no success at the local shops or with online shopping, the plan was to go to Jax or Orlando to continue the search for the perfect dress for my wedding but my friend urged me to stop off in Lake City at the Golden Needle first. I have to admit I wasn't keen on the idea thinking, 'what could I possible find in a small city' however I was pleasantly surprised and so grateful for the outstanding service that Alissa and Maeghen and their master seamstress "grandmom" gave to us that day. I love that it is a family business and this in turn gave me the sense that I was with family and friends. The atmosphere was lighthearted and fun, the prices were fantastic and the selection was awesome. How wonderful it was to have so many choices! Another wonderful perk about this shop is that the alterations are done on site by someone with years and years of experience and that is comforting to know. I will make the Golden Needle my "first stop' in the future when I need formal wear ie cruise, special parties, charity benefits etc. I would highly recommend them. Thanks again Golden Needle! Regardless of what any one says, I have gotten my prom dress here and am going to get my wedding dress here. They are super help full and have really tried to help me out!!! I think people are just snappy them selves and didn't get the service they wanted because the girls there are very nice!!! && Alterations are PERFECT! more

What a freaking joke.... there are little skimpy dressed girls running this store and if they think you don't have money you will be treated like trash. They are also very rude about all the other shops in the area... told me no other stores in town. We rode down to walmart and there is a bridal shop! We went in there and found exactly what I was looking for and was treated very well. Will never be back to the golden needle! more

Don't let the old carpet fool you, I had the best experience here shopping for my wedding dress. They were very helpful and patient. I could not have asked for a better experience and they helped make the dress of my dreams. more

I love this store they Always have the latest styles, amazing alterations, and wonderful customer services been coming her for years. They even Carrie jovani witch if you go to tha website you'll c that lots of stars have worn there dresses ,, and FYI the resin they do crazy sales is there always getting rid of the old prom and bring in the new! more

I checked out this store and must say I was not impressed... I wouldn't suggest you go there. They had a few things I liked but the service wasn't there and the prices were way off... I have never used them for alterations but from other reviews I've read online im glad I didn't. The shop itself needs to be updated. It looks the same it probably did when they first opened opened. Which is god knows when. I have also heard recently that they are offering a prom deal where you buy one get one for a dollar. So im assuming they are hurting for money or either trying to keep their business open against new stores opening in the area. Either way ill wait and check out the competition. more

I went in looking for a prom dress for my junior prom. I was looking for a reasonably priced gown - and I am a plus sized woman. They had a wide variety of dresses and I found my dream dress. They helped me by altering it and even adding more "bling" to it. I wore it and got tons and tons of compliments. Thank you Golden Needle! =) Great customer service and just going in there was fun. more

I was not impressed at all with this place. I had purchased a dress here for a wedding, and had alterations done on the dress. The alterations were crooked, and it was to late as we were pinched for time. The prices of the dresses were outrageously high. I had looked at wedding dresses in there at one time. I wanted a plus size dress, in which they did not carry my size. They showed me dresses out of a book and told me that i had to pay for the dress upfront, and give my measurements. I would be stuck with the dress whether i liked it or not. So once the dress came to the shop and i tried it on and I did not like it, I would basically be stuck with a dress that I hated. Plus size people have a hard enough time finding clothes that fit them and look decent on them. I refuse to spend that much on a wedding dress I can not try before I buy.. I was dissapointed and ended up shopping elsewhere for my dress. I am glad i did... I found a nice dress shop in Ellisville where I could try before I bought, and it carried my size, and it was at discount prices and I saved about $200 shopping outside of town. more
