Kip Stodghill as well as the other staff members at Galaxie are absolutely wonderful. I had a ring that had been mercilessly stuck on me for 2 whole days and was causing me a lot of pain. I spent hours trying to remove it and even at my local fire department hoping that they could cut it off. After thinking that I would have to go to the ER to pay to get it medically removed, Kip took under 10 minutes to snap it off with the tools he had in the back, and did not charge me a thing. He is professional, knowledgable, polite, courteous, and an all-around phenomenal person. After thinking that I would have to get my finger removed, Kip saved my life. I'll be going to him for any professional jewelry service from now. Thank you, Kip! more

I came to Galaxie Jewelers as clueless guy looking for an engagement ring. Kip and crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient in helping me choose a good ring for her within my budget and also helping me decide whether I should get the ring before I propose or to get it afterwards so my fiance could choose what she wanted. more

Poor customer service !!! Unhelpful !! I was needed advise on whether their diamonds are enhanced in anyway. Response, was, " we endeavour to filtered the enhanced diamonds" Very vague response!! \r Selective with answers to my queries. Have not answered most of my queries. more

These guys always do excellent work and if it is not perfect they will work on it until it is! I have always taken my jewelry there to be repaired. It took one visit to a highly reputable jewelry store in Houston to resize a ring for me and it was extremely expensive to repair and they did a terrible job, telling me they could not resize the ring but would simply put balls in it to suffice. The balls hurt my finger and they removed them but did not offer a refund. I took it to Galaxie and it was absolutely perfect after one visit! They resized it with no problem at all. I developed arthritis recently in my ring finger and had to have a lot of rings made larger. They did a great job and the cost was very reasonable. I would never go anywhere else for repairs. My wife's engagement ring needed some repairs and some re-design work done because she has developed some callus. I have done a lot of research and found Galaxie Jewelers was one of the very few jewelers around town that received unanimous positive feedbacks. So we paid them a visit. They are very knowledgeable, and the price they quoted us was reasonable. We had our ring fixed and redesigned there, and the craftmanship was amazing, not to mention that they did everything in the timely fashion (especially during the hectic Christmas season)! I have always been suspicious of smaller jewelers outside of major shopping areas and that was too bad because I found Galaxie later than I should have: After losing a precious ring that merely needed to be resized. I come from a generation taught to sensitively admire others jewelry, but not to ask questions. I was afraid of theft, and poor work, and staggering gold prices. I had some bad experiences with other repair people enthusiastically volunteered by friends who dressed well, but who, I later realized, had no fine jewelry. I was reluctant to ask others who obviously had jewelry because I felt it might seem as If I was prying. I really stumbled into Galaxie after having seen a really splendid piece they deigned for a friend who inherited a large antique diamond. Well, I am relieved to report that in the case of Galaxie, you can absolutely trust them. They do beautiful work and especially nice repairs. They tell you up front that they don't touch what they can't repair which is also important. They have excellent tools. Their pricing is very fair. I have used them for all sorts of repairs and restoration, even watch repair. I wish I'd found them earlier. Kip's very talented designer, but I found the other people who work there to be as caring and careful. All of them listen to your concerns if they are given an opportunity to know you. I walked into Galaxie a couple months ago out of the blue to design an engagement ring. Kip, the owner, guided my then girlfriend and I through the process every step of the way. We always felt assured there, Kip's no non-sense approach to ring design is the only way to do it. He is very knowledgeable, patient and will not push you in a direction you do not want to go. We were blown away by the ring he built for us, and plan on going back soon for wedding bands. more

So this is my story. I had a custom band with diamonds made but a friend's jeweler and the ring was very poorly made. I was so angry with the jeweler I initially refused to even take it back to him. After some convincing, I decided to take it back to get it repaired, though the repair was done just as poorly. I set out on a mission to find the best jeweler in Houston to repair the piece. I went to a number of places and every single one told me it was not repairable and I would have to make a new ring. A couple places even told me it was not the real metal I had ordered. I had bent a prong on my diamond setting and needed to fix it, but had just moved to Houston so I didn't know where to take it. i know some places won't work on items non purchased from them, so I went in to several stores for quotes. After being quoted $200 to fix it from other stores in the area, I walked into Galaxie. Kip took five minutes to fix it , shined it up so it looked like the day my husband gave it to me, and charged me nothing! He just shrugged and said he loved what he did and didn't need to charge me to fix a prong. These people make beautiful, custom pieces and he knew he didn't have to rip me off to get his profits. My wife and I worked with Dee to realize a design concept she'd had for our wedding rings. In the case of her ring, the idea was deceptively complex: it encased her grandmother's ancient platinum-and-diamond ring while corresponding to the design of my ring. Dee and Kip improved on the concept, tailored it to our hands, showed it to us on paper and then realized it. We couldn't be happier with the results. The jeweler has the best staff and are such a delight to work with. They strive to take care of their customers and always provide 100% satisfaction. I came to the Galaxie Jewelers for the first time several years ago. I needed a very unique design of a ring for a pretty large emerald bought in Colombia for my sister. The problem was that the emerald was in a natural state with only one large side and a smaller adjacent side polished; all the rest of the stone was amorphous showing the beautiful deep green color of a nutural stone, but at almost 7 carats made it extremely difficult to accomplish a design to compliment the emerald. I showed the stone to Kip Stodghill and we began talking about the possibilities of making a ring out of an amorphous large stone. His vast experience as a Gemologist, jewelry design, craftsmanship and production of beautiful pieces made me feel that I had come to right place. He explained to me the different steps we were going to go through for the creation of this very unique ring. He then began making different drawings from which I chose one that really took my breath away. I suggested to line-up 5 little princess cut diamonds to one side, changing the design a little, but that was no problem for Kip. He always told me that everything he wanted was for me to have exactly the jewelry piece I had in mind. He prepared a wax model and set the emerald and the 5 diamonds to give me a preview of the final product. When I went to pick up the ring I was stunned by the beauty of the One-Of- A- Kind piece he presented to me. Needless to say my sister's reaction when I gave it to her on her birthday. It took only moments after meeting Kip Stodghill to know that I had found the best of the best. Kip took my stones, design ideas and novice to heart and created a replacement wedding ring for my wife that absolutely took my breath away. When Kip showed it to me, I just could not believe how beautiful it had turned out. My wife was speechless when I presented it to her on our anniversary, and she has been on cloud nine ever since. After visiting a few jewelry stores, my fiance and I went to the Galaxie Jewelers based on their great reviews on Citysearch. After meeting Kip Stodghill, we could not bring ourselves to go anywhere else. We discussed with Kip our idea for a one-of-a-kind ring. At no point did he ever attempt to push a pre-made ring. He said, "The only pressure I will put on you is to take your time and make sure you get exactly what you want." Other stores had spent a minute or less discussing what we wanted before trying to sell us something "similar." Kip made it clear that his goal was that my fiance would have her perfect dream ring. Without asking for a dime, Kip offered to order several sapphires (which we used for the center stone) for us to look at. When we came to look at them, we had actually already found one we liked and had purchased it. Rather than trying to find a reason why we should take our sapphire back and buy one of his, Kip told us he loved the stone and thought we had purchased it at a great price. We settled on the details of the design and asked Kip to begin making the ring. He made 3-D computer images of it to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. After that, he showed us the wax mold he had made to cast the ring to double-check that it was exactly what we had in mind. Then, he began making the ring. Throughout the process, communication was incredible. Kip graciously answered my many questions and made sure I knew the production status throughout. He even halted construction when we decided to change metals. When Kip called to tell me the ring was finished, I raced over and was completely blown away. I can truly say that I have never seen a more beautiful engagement ring. I formally proposed to my fiance two days later, and she absolutely loves her ring. People have actually stopped us to ask about it. The craftsmanship, personal service, and prices at the Galaxie Jewelers are second to none. I would not consider going anywhere else. Thanks Kip! I am fairly new to the area and heard of Galaxie from a recommendation. I was nervous to take my new engagement ring there; it is worth quite a bit. I went to check it out and decided to have it sized there. I was not disappointed by the customer service and geniune care they took with my ring. The owner was there each time I went in and even rushed the time for me. I highly recommend this store. more

I had some old family jewerly-note really high value, but lots of sentimental value. I took my bag of goodies in to see what I could do with them. The time spent with me was at least an hour. Everyone in the place took a look. Old stones were tested and I had the history of the time period etc. they were cut! Needless to say I came back a few days later the most original pieces - way past my expectations. Now I were them and everyone wants to know where I bought it.
