Absolutelt the worst! 1/28/2012

They should have an option to give 0 or even a negative number of stars if they're asking people to review the basement doctor. The rep promised me they would take care of all my problems. The biggest problem I ended up having was that he didn't know what he was doing. He lied to me and then tried to add thusands of dollars to my contract. Don't waste your time with this company. more

Go elsewhere 8/24/2011

This business which is based in Reynoldsburg but services other areas including Dayton is a complete mess. Not only is their voicemail/call service difficult to deal with but they stratify your call through multiple layers of know-nothing representatives who promise to have somebody who knows something call you back. THEN, be prepared to wait... an eternity until you decide to call them back. NEXT, they give you an attitude and you still have not gotten an appt scheduled or even talked with a person who knows anything about basements. Don't waste your time with them. more

Good Experience With Basement Doctor 5/27/2011

I had a good experience with The Basement Doctor. I had a leak in basement, and called for a free estimate. The salesperson was nice, clean cut and knowledgeable. He recommend a few things I could do myself and they worked. I'm glad I called The Basement Doctor. more

Outrageous! 3/22/2011

Wanted to do a simple finish to our 24x20 basement, w/two windows to box in. Also wanted the ceiling done, everything painted, and carpeted. I got 4 estimates, the Basement Doctor was last. My estimates were as follows; 1. $7800 2. $7400 3. $7900 4. $31,150 Thats right, its not a typo...over 31 thousand dollars! Thats almost 1/5 the total cost of the house! They are either confused, crazy, or thiefs, and I suspect the latter. Stay FAR, FAR AWAY! more

Beware of Basment Doctor 2/3/2011

Or less stars if I could There is not enough space to fully tell you the experience I had with this bunch and they have lots of tenicles of companies under other names. Beware. They send out a saleman who knows nothing about deteriating basements or how to recognize if one is going to be deteriorating. He picks what they'll do and that's all they do and all they guarantee. He has no experience with anything but the tape-measure.and sales hype. But his decisions are what you'll be stuck with for 25 yrs of 'guarantee'. I spent $10,000 to waterproof 3 walls in my basement. A year later it was leaking, When I called. the comment I got, 'We don't do that'. They sure were right about that. They didn't do it or well either. They agreed to come out and do the same thing they did before which wasn't much. This year its leaking again. The same place as the original leak. You should see the jerry-mandered job on the outside! And the lies were boundless! I went with them only because M/I recommended them. I told M/I my experiences and I think they're right back to recommending them again. All Jewish, of course. who's kicking back to who here? Who's trusting either of these companies a second time? Not me! Just avoid this company. Do it yourself if you have to but don't use these guys. They're rude, don't call you back, don't do a good job, insist before the crew leaves to be paid (I refused and a very good decision it was) intimidate, screw around with the cost estimate. It goes on an on But the paint they use they refuse to leave with you for touch-ups. Said it would harden. M/I said it doesn't. It doesn't. Buy your own. Do it yourself with a mask, a sander and a brush. I got my can of paint by sheer luck and on the can it says its cancer causing and not allowed into California. But I got left with dust all over everything a dust that doesn't come up unless water is used and they refused to do that. Then there are the ledges and little ins and outs that were not cleared. The stuff stored under plastic was thick with it. That wasn't removed either. Oh, that salesman was very sloppy in how much of the 3 walls were covered. Missed a bunch of one......talk about don't care and inexperienced. How can you miss a huge part of one wall FGS One of their crew died of cancer recently after working with that stuff for 15 yrs. The paint can label didn't lie. more
