Not impressed 3/28/2006

I didn't have a very good experience at Thai Purple. I went on a weekday and there weren't very many customers, yet the service was still very slow. It took 10-15 minutes to finally get a waitress to our table so we could order. I got the lunch special, which included soup, but it wasn't hot. My meal was also a small portion and did not include authentic ingredients (for example, Pad Thai was served with lemon instead of lime). I did like their Thai iced tea, which was really good. But again, the service wasn't that good because I asked for ice water after I finished my tea but the waitress didn't bring it. more

Thai purple 10/4/2005

Thai purple is a restaurant that has excellent drinks but the food is questionable. Their Thai tea is the best and even exceeds those at those tea stations such as tapioca express and lollicup. The food there is not good compared to other restaurants but the drink is all that matters. You can just go there get the drink for take out and leave to another restaurant. more

Thai Purple 9/25/2005

This is a cool place because I love purple! Not only that but their food is pretty good. Although the prices are a little bit too much. I didn't think this was the greatest place to eat but for friends to come and hang out, this is cool. All the waitresses wear purple and the whole place has a single theme which is good. I love this place only because of the atmosphere. For the food, I have seen better. more

Monday thru Saturday, lunch special, which includes soup or salad and an entree, starts at just $4.50, which is just about unheard of these days. Commonly-ordered dishes include the Thai Purple BBQ Chicken, with a good amount of tender dark and white meat seasoned and bbq-ed to perfection and a sweet-and-sour honey sauce for dipping. Pad Thai is always a safe bet, considering the popular Pad Thai Tuesdays where a good-sized order with shrimp and chicken is just 3.99. more

Top-notch Thai restaurant 9/1/2005

This is a great place to eat out - it's located across the street from the local theater. The food here is incredibly savory and delicious. Service is excellent, and I cannot stress this - the waitress that was on shift was extremely helpful on helping my party select the numerous Thai dishes here. The only downside is that this restaurant may burn a hole in your wallet - food is relatively expensive and small in quantity. more

hm... Thai Purple 8/15/2005

Well, the name says it all. They use purple as their theme color, in the restaurant, you get purple dishes, purple napkins, and purple bowl if my memory serve me correctly. I usually order Pad Thai when I go there, they have the best Pad Thai and there's no doubt about that. They're just across the street from the Edward Stadium Theater (Garfield / Main). Parking is pain in the butt though, they offer parking in rear, but very few slots available. It is best to go watch a movie and then go there to enjoy the wide selections of Thai food. more
