Completely not offensive yet totally forgettable 8/18/2009

We started with the $10 appetizer sampler (Crispy Roll, Samosa, Corn Fritter, and mixed vegetable Tempura) and it was OK -- the fried veggies were tasty but not unique. Corn fritter was pretty good. The spring rolls were really good. We ordered five main dishes and shared: Ginger Thai Style, Pineapple Fried Rice, Garlic chicken with broccoli (""House speical""), Pad Thai with Chicken, and Stir Fry with Chicken. Our lone child in the crew ordered chicken nuggets and french fries. Reasonable to say nobody was impressed and we all tried every dish. ""Meh!"" Prices were $9 to $12; hot tea an extra $2 per person. PS: Kiddo loved the chicken nuggets. :-) Pros: Inexpensive and close to shopping Cons: Service lacking and inattentive yet... not offensive more

Attentive & Informative Service 1/20/2008

My husband and I know little about Thai cuisine. We were bored of our regular spots and have been eying Zak8 since they opened. We went in on a Thurs night and were the only patrons, but that didn't scare us away. The service was wonderful. Our waiter was patient with us and selected entrees and starters to get a feel for their cuisine. Don't miss the appetizer (I can't spell it or say it) that comes in lettuce leaves and is stuffed with a Bangkok spice, lime, peanut, and some other things we couldn't make out. The Spicy Peanut Curry had a little too much sauce, but was very flavorful and presented well. The atmosphere is dark with brown accents. The concrete floors (which is commonplace in Frisco) was a little too cold for the 32 degree night we picked, but they turned up the heat for us. This one is not to miss! Pros: Informative Wait staff, great presentation, great value more
