Really, i love that place,it was gorgeous and they will confirm that your marriage ceremony is a venture and surely you are going to have an amazing wedding ceremony which will stay in your mind forever. Their eye-catching venue has hosted some of New York’s most remarkable weddings, coordinating each and every detail from catering arrangements to floral recommendations. Whether you’re planning a modern and chic event, or a classic storybook ceremony, Terrace on the Park is committed to create the wedding you’ve always imagined and more. Thanks a lot. more

Wedding July 8, 2011 8/1/2011

We had our wedding at Terrace on the park on July 8, 2011, for approximately 100 people, and it was all that we could hope for. It took us over a month to find the right venue but Terrace was our top choice. It had beautiful grounds, with spectacular rooms, and what seemed to be a friendly staff at first. Though we dealt with different account managers the one constant face was Normans which was a comforting factor during a stressful time. Everything that was promised to us upon signing the contract was delivered to the best of anyone more

THE WORST PLACE TO HAVE ANY SPECIAL OCCASION 7/26/2011

The worst service and professionalism ever, the staff is extremely rude and unhelpful just like the manager and the head staff. They wish to do nothing but stand there and watch as you struggle to have arrangements done on time. Even after booking certain halls they double booked one of the halls for another party even though we paid full money and we booked a year in advance. They have the most disgusting mannerisms from the head staff Norman himself. Norman is absolutely the nastiest and rude person you will ever meet, with no reason at all for him to be that way. I would strongly urge anyone who wishes to have a party there to reconsider just for the reason that you will not at all appreciate the belligerent attitude and unhelpful and disgusting staff that we had to endure. Please take my advice wisely as I wish to save others the disappointment I had gone through for my wedding. ""I just got married here last week. The actual event was really great. It was more than we hope for. I would have given it all 5 stars if it werent for the sales person assigned to us. If you are thinking about having your event here, do NOT under any circumstances use a man named Norman. Norman is a scumbag first rate. He will tell you any lie you need to hear in order to sign anything he puts in front of you. Since Norman is older, he has no computer, and always hand writes everything which gives him an excuse every time you see him for him to tell you that you havent paid him. During the entire process he told us that 3 things would be done, like painting the terrace which was sort of disgusting, and cleaning lights etc. None of it was done, but he knew we wouldnt care. Norman's little trick is to tell you that ""you are going to get something special because I like you."" What you dont know is that since you cant actually read the details of the plans, he only tells you 80% of what you are paying for and then on the day you are ""suprised"" with this generous gift...which isnt a gift at all. He admitted this to me. The worst part of Norman is that once you have paid him, you will never get any service from him again. We made the mistake of paying him 2 weeks before the wedding in full and we never got to see or talk to him again."" I absolutely agree with this review above and would like to also add that they guzzle money like no other. more

Terrace on the Park 10/11/2010

Earlier this year (2010) when we visited Terrace on the Park for the first time, we knew it was the place where we wanted to get married.. and we did. We picked the location for various reasons. First, our banquet manager was very personable and pleasant. He walked us through the entire process of planning a wedding and gave us advices and ideas in addition to making sure that our event was planned the way we wanted it to be. The food was great and plenty. The veiw from the penthouse level was amazing. We were blessed to have had a beautiful weather on our wedding day in June, 2010, and all our guests got a chance to see the manhattan skyline as the backdrop of our event. On Queens side, we also enjoyed the view of Cififield, the famous Arthur Ashe tennis stadium, and the Unisphere of Flushing Meadow park. The ballroom was nothing but extravagant and elegant with beautiful chandelier in the center of the dance floor. Our sweetheart table setup was beautiful with a view of outdoor scenary. \r \r We loved our wedding at Terrace on the Park. All the staff did a wonderful job and we were very pleased with their services. The only one thing that we regret is that we used the florist that was recommended to us by Terrace on the Park. While Terrace on the Park did not have anything to do with our decision to use the florist (Charles Florals of Astoria, NY), we wished we did a better research of the products and services that Charles Florals offered. The florist at Charles Florals did make a beautiful sample of our centerpieces and made wonderful promises, but, on the day of our wedding, the actual centerpieces and other flower decorations were not done as per the contract and per the promises. The bridesmaids bouquets did not look fresh by the afternoon. \r \r This is the one day that you will remember for the rest of your lives together. While Terrace on the Park did a beautiful job for our wedding, Charles Florals did not live up to our expectation and the contract. We do recommend Terrace on the Park, but please, for your sake, be careful if you ever even consider to use Charles Florals. \r \r G & J\r more

Great event, but beware of the sales team 6/23/2010

I just got married here last week. The actual event was really great. It was more than we hope for. I would have given it all 5 stars if it werent for the sales person assigned to us. If you are thinking about having your event here, do NOT under any circumstances use a man named Norman.\r \r Norman is a scumbag first rate. He will tell you any lie you need to hear in order to sign anything he puts in front of you. Since Norman is older, he has no computer, and always hand writes everything which gives him an excuse every time you see him for him to tell you that you havent paid him.\r \r During the entire process he told us that 3 things would be done, like painting the terrace which was sort of disgusting, and cleaning lights etc. He admitted this to me.\r \r The worst part of Norman is that once you have paid him, you will never get any service from him again. We made the mistake of paying him 2 weeks before the wedding in full and we never got to see or talk to him again.\r \r During the wedding, we had 2 attendants. One woman and one man, the woman was very nice, but it was obvious that I was sharing an attendant with another party, but I paid 100% of the cost for him. He was no where to be found after the 1st 2 hours.\r \r The place is beautiful, and the food was good wedding food. The bartender Lloyd was absolutely the best.\r \r The biggest problems came when I had to ask Norman for the remainder of our wedding cake. My wife and her mother-in-law asked the male attendant to save the remainder of the cake and just put it in the back of any car. Now this was a $2000 cake and there was plenty of it left. After trying to get a hold of Norman, he told me that it was the attendant who asked my wife and mother-in-law if we wanted the cake and they said to ""throw it away"". When I told him I was standing right there, he told me that I could come in and question them myself and that I, my wife and mother-in-law were lying.\r \r Cake is cake...We wanted to keep a small part of it and then donate it to the church so their shelters could enjoy our happiness..ok...but how about this:\r \r In that conversation, Norman tried to tell me that we owed him for 2 more people. That we had underpaid and it was his good graces that he allowed the wedding to go forward because he was a nice guy. In fact we OVERPAID by 8 people and I had to argue with him until he blamed it on the ""money guys"". I asked him how I recover the extra I had paid, and he said I couldnt. I tried to make logic of this, but it IS on the back of the contract you will sign. When you turn in the place settings, you had better be sure that you have either exact or under count the amount of people.\r \r ...and to boot, one of the ""Staff"" put the main centerpiece in the coat closet because, she admitted to the family memeber in control of picking it up, that she ""wanted to take it home, because it was beautiful.""\r \r Go in with your eyes open. I am trying not to let this ruin what was a beautiful event...ruined by an unscrupulous sales guy 1/4 of the time I paid for of an attendant and a few sticky fingers staff.\r \r While I encourage anyone with the stamina to do this, Sorry Norman, but I was the test of my group of 6 couples within the next year to be married, and I will tell them not to use you in hopes that you are forced to retire for tainting my wedding. Pros: Day of service staff makes it feel special Cons: Sales staff should be used car salesmen. more

great food and terrific service 6/1/2009

We had our wedding at Terrace on the Park mid- May.\r The level of service an cooperation we received upfront was terrific. The banquet manager was very flexible and the hall had a great selection for any budget. We were originally booked for 200 guests but ended up with a party of 350, and the hall had a way to accomodate our large party despite of capacity in the room (only drawback- you have to pay full price for kids under 3).\r The day of the wedding: upon our arrival, my husband and I were greeted by our hosts, Renita and James. They were our go to people in case of problems. Both were very pleasant and accomodating. They showed us to our suite, got us food and drinks, and escorted us around the cocktail room and reception room prior to the guest's arrival. \r During the cocktail hour, the food selection was very abundant, and everyone enjoyed the food- our only complaint was that we requested a no pork menu, and some of the servers were not educated on the food they were serving, as a result, they were not able to tell our guests that the dishes were all pork free. \r Everything was smooth sailing from there on but the dessert hour. First of all, one of the ""perks"" of booking your wedding at this venue was your choice of cake for free- not true. My husband and I picked a very simple ivory cake with three large sugar flowers on top. When we arrived at the bakery for our tasting and consultation, we were notified that sugar flowers were not included in the package, and we had to dish out an extra $250 for the few flowers- which would have been bearable had the cake actually looked like what we wanted it to look like. The color scheme on the cake was not as selected, the flowers looked very amateurly done, and the cake didn't look remotely close to what we asked for. In addtion, it was lumpsided, and cracked on one side halfway through our reception- however, that's not really the hall to blame but the bakery they contract with. \r After the cake cutting, we aksed our hosts for the timing of the venecian table- and we were informed that there will be none- we were informed that we paid for dessert on each table not a separate table with sweets and desserts- that was apparently extra per person- but we were promised a chocolate fountain and a crape station when booking, so we had to argue our way to a dessert table- which was eventually set up for us at no extra cost. \r All in all, with the small glitch during dessert hour, the hall did a terrific job at catering to our special day. I've attended a large number of weddings within the last few years, and I can unbiastly say that the food and service was superior. Pros: delicious food, fast service, high level of customization, Cons: cake not really free, pay for kids more
