Teriyaki Chicken House

I?m a long time customer of this place and I absolutely love it! They have the best chicken in town! Apparently, the review made by Jalcruces reflects the nature of her taste, which is restricted to the atmosphere of the restaurant in addition to the quantity, and not the quality of its food. Having been living in Las Cruces for 15 years does not make her a food expert and certainly one with taste. With that said, their menu has been around since 1996, and has been the same ever since. Had Jalcruces had enough oxygen when she was born, she would have realize that their specialty is teriyaki chicken, hence ?Teriyaki Chicken House?. The place may be a little run down, but it is always kept clean inside. more

Been in 'Cruces for 15 yrs. Passed by this place several times as it looks like a dump and is always empty. After reading several reviews in local newspapers recently, I thought I would finally give this place a try. Supposedly has new owners that have been there about a year now. Same Teriyaki recipe as the old owners. First of all, more than half of their entrees are Shrimp, then one quarter chicken and less than one quarter are beef. Perhaps a better title would be ""Shrimp Teriyaki House"". Second, the teriyaki sauce itself is awful. Worse than a store bought jar laden with preservatives. Not that it is laden with preservatives, but that is what it tastes like. Gross. Thirdly, the sauces that came with our entrees were somewhat skimpy. Maybe enough for one or two pieces of chicken. Fourth, our sodas were almost pure water. Two different drinks, so can't blame the one mixture. Looks like all their sodas from the fountain are set to have a heavy water mixture. Lastly, to top it off, of course, somewhat overpriced for what you got. I understand that it may somewhat difficult to make ends meet, especially in this economy, but to skimp on the preparation, presentation and quality of food is not the way to do it. This was a horrible experience and we're never going back. Good luck to the owners of this restaurant,.. but I think you should be in another business. more

Supposedly, the Korean owners experimented for 3 years to create the perfect teriyaki sauce and then when it was perfected opened this place. I don't know if I totally believe that but the sauce is pretty good. Although they serve other things besides the chicken. It is really the chicken teriyaki that you come for. I tried the chicken/beef combo my first time and the chicken is so much better that now I only get the double dose of Chicken. I like how they serve it with steamed vegis making this place the healthiest fast food in town. This is one of a very small list of restaurants that I crave regularly. more
