I have been going here for a good 8 years or more. Techniques takes care of you for whatever the reason. They have many servuces to take care of you- like nails, hair, massages, make up and even special classes from time to time. I have tried a lot of services and always get treated like first class. My first massage here I tried out the half hour massage, it was so good I had to sign up for the hour session the next time. I have even gotten some good deals on the jewlery and hair care for sale. I have never had to wait a long time for a service either. They are really good with scheduling clients. Love this salon!!! I was given a gift certificate for a full day of beauty about a year ago, and i couldn't believe the quality of service. Everyone at the salon was very helpful and attentive, and the services were among the best I ever had. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the prices are worth it. Now i go there for everything. I have been going to techniques for many years.( I would guess at least six. )The staff is so talented i would never go anywhere else. Andrea can do any style perfect. Julie has been cutting and coloring my hair for a few years now and is completely stuck with me. I look forward to going to the salon. Julie treats me like family not just a client. I have been going to Techniques around 6 months or so now.I have never had any bad experiences and have never been mistreated.My hair is not the easiest to style but Damian always gets it to go just how I want it.He takes the time to explain what he is going to do and what products he uses before he puts anything in my hair.I never have any problems after I get my hair cut and I have no problems styling it myself to make it look like when I get it done professionaly.and the head mesage you get when you get your hair washed is awsome. I've been going to Techniques for a few years from now and am always very happy with my cuts and color. Having tried several other salons in the area including Rizzieri, Millennium / Cartier / Whateveritscallednow, and Pileggi in Washington Twp, Techniques is by far my favorite for many reasons, including comfort and consistancy, and price. I have been visintg Techniques regularly for many months now, every 6 weeks I am back. I LOVE IT!!! The staff is always friendly and very professional. The atmosphere is elegent, the stylist are always looking beatiful. Laura ALWAYS does an amazing job, she goes well past my expectations!! She is very knowledgeable on the new and trendy styles. She will listen to what you want and actually do it. If she feels that it may not ""fit"" you she will give her expert opinion. This is a top notch salon with excellent prices! I love going to Techniques! I have been a client for about 6 months, and all the staff knows be by my first name! I came to Techniques because I had been going to another salon that did very nice (pricey) work, but it was too stuffy. I always felt like I had to get dressed up to get my hair done. Techniques is just the opposite. Although the staff are all very well dressed and professional, and the salon as a whole feels very ""high end"", I have no problem going in my sweats with no make up on. The owner is always there, and talking to clients, making them feel at home. She is very knowledgable about skin care, and last week when I got a facial she talked me OUT of buying a really expensive product because she said ""At my age I didnt need to spend the money on the product"", and that it was targeted for older skin. She then pointed me in the direction of another product that was about half the price! How many business owners would do that? I was very impressed.\r \r The only thing bad I will say about the salon is that I normally end up having to wait about 15 minutes for my hair appointments. I dont mind so much though, because I know my stylist is really taking her time with her client, and I know that I always get the same attention.\r \r I highly reccomend treating yourself at this salon and spa! I can't believe anyone could ever have a bad anything here!!! I arrived and was taken upstair , changed into a robe, was shown to a room where the girl proceded to tell me that she was going to look at my skin and customize something just for me. She proceded to tell me things she saw on my skin and that it how it correlated to different parts of my body. I have never had a facial like this before. WoW! Needless to say an hour later I was out!!! A therapist came to do my massage . I never even had to leave the bed. She worked on every knot she felt. Excellent!!! I recommend ANYONE who likes a great spa service to try this place out!!!! It was a little on the small side , but very private.The staff is truly knowledgable and I go every where. I have been coming here for about 8 years & I may not know them all by name but each girl is so friendly to me. They greet me by name, offer me wine & magazines. Worst Experience Ever! I had to write about it. Had a facial here and it was the worst facial I have ever had! Was the girl even licensed? First of all she smelled so bad like cigarettes, she did not wash her hands. Then in the middle of my facial as I was trying to relax she started coughing. She was also sniffeling the entire time. If you are sick and you work so close to people, you should CALL OUT SICK! Why was this girl working? I was so disgusted after this experience. This is the part that is insane...When I went to check out and pay, a women was at the front desk complaining about her hair saying that it was not at all what she wanted. The girl at the front said she would have someone fix it but she said it was already too short. I could not believe my eyes. What kind of so called ""Salon"" is this? For the ten years I have been a customer at Techniques, I have found the service and staff to be exceptional. Techniques has always been flexible and accommodating with my schedule. As for the owner of Techniques, she is always approachable, knowledgeable, and professional. What I find most admirable about the owner and her staff is their commitment to their community and charitable events. I wish more business would have the integrity that Techniques demonstrates. The owner contacted the client right away when hearing about her experience and assured her that would never happen again. My stylist at the salon is great....the reception leaves a LOT to be desired. On more than one occasion, I was treated as if I was 'below' the clientelle by the receptionest (whom I later found to be the owener.) I put up with the less than stellar treatment because I loved my stylist so much. But when I was berated for being ten minutes late by the receptionist (again, the owner) I decided to take my hard earned money elsewhere. Maybe she won't treat you so poorly, but it's your gamble. I had a great experience at Techniques. I had my color and haircut done. The girls at the desk were friendly and warm. They took my coat and offered my a glass if wine. The staff was sweet. The girls that do hair were all well dressed and adorable. They were all so professional and range from all ages. I was extemely happy with my service ans cant wait to try the spa next! I have been going to techniques for about 7 years. I have use many of the stylist there. Everyone is very professional. It is always very relaxing and friendly. The staff goes out of their way to please. They work together as a team. I never felt rushed. I would highly recommend the salon. more

I had a gift certificate and decided to get my hair highlighted and cut. I made an appt. with Deb. Little did I know, Deb was going on vacation in a couple of days so she must have been in a rush to do my hair. She only cut one side of my hair. It was a horrible mess. I called the next day and explained that I was unhappy with my hair and wanted Deb to fix it. The receptionist told me that she ""just left for the day"" so I called the next day and ""she was on vacation"". Finally, I spoke with the manager and she told me to come right in and someone else would fix it. I think I got someone fresh out of cosmetology school because I ended up with a man's haircut! I am a woman!!!!! I told them I wanted my money back and they said that they didnt give refunds. It has been about 3 months and my hair is slowly growing back (choppy). I will never, ever go back there again. My entire experience was horrible. I am going back to Hello Gorgeous!!! Cons: very unprofessional! more
