Our reservation was honored immediately upon arriving at this crowded restaurant and bar. The meal and service were superb. Plenty of free parking. 2/28/2009

Reservations were honored immediately when we arrived at 6:30pm . The dining and bar areas were packed. Waiter was at table to take drink orders. He was extremely efficient throughout the whole meal with additional servers for the entrees. Fish, pork, salads, etc. were beautifully presented and enjoyed by 6 at a round table. Located In the original Bryn Mawr freight and passenger train station. Free, ample parking. Both exterior and interior have theme of the Tango. Rated it with 5-stars. more

sophomoric and uninventive 7/29/2008

This place really needs to get serious about its food. I have eaten there twice in the last 6 years and the menu and presentation were unchanged. Just as the first time, I found it uncomposed, unfocused and down right boring. We sat at the bar and had a knowledgeable bartender. I got excited when he said they had chilean sea bass that night, but they ended up doing it Piccata. Booooooring. My friend got a half pound of salmon and it was dry with no effort in the prentation or flavor combinations. Pros: Knowledgeable and well-trained staff, good wine Cons: Food is a hot disaster more

Great Ambience, TERRIBLE food 4/14/2008

Twice i ate here and twice I was extremely dissappointed. They are passing off crappy cuts of beef as Filet and NY Strip and you can't even run a steak knife thru the food! I love the atmosphere but prefer to enjoy my food as much as i enjoy the atmosphere. I would never reccommend this place to anyone! Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Food more

Fantastic Atmosphere 10/11/2007

This is a great date place. My husband and I go here all of the time. The lights are low, the volume does not get too loud and the food is delicious. My favorite dinner is the Rainbow Trout. It is cooked to perfection and has a great flavor to it. The capers add an excellent flavor. An end to a perfect meal includes any of their desserts. I highly recommend the bread pudding. It comes out piping hot with a side of vanilla ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant! Pros: Ambience Cons: terrible parking more

Another floundering Main Line restaurant 2/10/2007

What I wouldn't give for a truly great restaurant on the Main Line! Alas this isn't it. Hopelessly inconsistent .... hopelessly inattentive wait staff - marvelous desserts and great atmosphere. Pros: Awesome desserts and ambience! Cons: Keep trying ... sigh. more

amazing food, excellent service, lovely ambiance...hope you like trains 2/7/2007

My husband and I went to Tango for the first time on our one year anniversary. The food was amazing (try the brie and apple salad) and our server could not have been more attentive. The only thing that occasionally broke the spell of the place was the occasional train whizzing past. The trains are the only thing that keeps me from saying this was the best restaurant I have ever been to. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: trains more

A Very Good But Not Great Restaurant 11/13/2006

Fairly good value. My last entree, a cashew crusted salmon was very, very good. My wife had a very good hanger steak. Worth a trip once a year, but not a destination place. Will go back. Pros: Location, location, location more

great food 7/12/2006

I had a great experience there with my girlfriend. food is great! service even better! The atmosphere is the best on the main line. more

A Perfect Meal 4/30/2006

We went to Tango after reading the reviews on this site and talking to some friends that have been there. It was great! We were seated right away and we did not experience any of the infrequent service that was mentioned in the reviews. The basket of warm bread with olive oil was a nice start to a fantastic meal. The warm spinach and crab dip was great not sure what other posters where referring to. The crab was jumbo lump crab meat and more then enough to share. The entrees were served warm and cooked perfect. Dont skip dessert! The decor was warm and inviting and the outside dining would be perfect on a summer night. We are already planning on going back. We spent $123 with tax/tip for two. It included appetizer, two $25 entrees, two desserts and four drinks. Well worth every penny!!! Pros: unique, great food more

Great food, aces all around! 2/28/2006

We've been dining here at least monthly probably since it opened. It is local to us, and there is lots of no hassle parking. We have never had a bad meal, the waitstaff and greeters all seem to have great personalities and are skilled at what they do. The drinks are properly made and they know 'em all! I like a clean place, and I have never had a problem with that at Tango either! Though the starters, salads, steaks & seafood are all of great quality and properly cooked, we happen to LOVE the ""Flat Iron Steak Salad"" It's much tastier than it sounds, We have brought groups for social and business, never had any problems! There's something very cool about sitting there with the R5 and an occasional Amtrak whizzing by! Go to Tango, you'll like it! Pros: Great Food, Great Parking, Great Staff Cons: I'm getting hungry more

TRY IT! 1/15/2005

VERY good food. Five out of five of us were very pleased with all of our choices. Nice presentation and good sized portions for the price. Our server was friendly but not very attentive. All things considered, it's worth a return trip! more

One of the best suburban restaurants 6/24/2004

I wish that ""melalexa"" or whoever said they didn't leave a tip on a $130 bill, would have reconsidered. Your poor experience is not necessarily the server's fault. Tango is one of the best restaurants outside of Philadelphia - great food/cocktail selection, and the decor is beautiful. Also an extensive wine list. The seared scallops entree is really good, the Greek Salad, jambalaya, and portabella mushroom appetizer (though it is kind of small). If you sit on the deck in nice weather, ask to be seated away from the AC units. Otherwise, it's kind of neat to be sitting there eating dinner when the trains go by. Only complaint - the dessert coffees - WAY too much liqueur in them! The Jamaican coffee almost had me and my boyfriend on the floor, and it tasted horrible. Poor end to an EXCELLENT meal, and still we have been back several times. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Beverages more

Bad service, Good food 2/29/2004

Do not go to Tango if you are in a hurry or inpatient. Go to Tango if you enjoy good food in a nice atmosphere. It is a good place for a small group, or romantic dinner. I do not recommend large groups. The service is not rude, just infrequent. So be forewarned. The food is always good. The fish tacos are yummy! The sandwiches are excellent, particularly the salmon BLT. Pros: yummy food, guest incentive prgm more

Not Bad 5/5/2003

We had a pretty good experience here the other night. The food was good, although I would have rated it better if it was hot when it was served. The service was quite good. I'd go back and give it another try. Pros: Good food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: small table more

They forgot we were there.. 12/19/2002

Tango had by far some of the best food that I've experienced. However, the service was non-existent. Although they have plenty of servers, waiters, etc., all of which are extremely friendly, they never came around. Dirty dishes were left on the table, waters were not filled, they were asking if we would like coffee and desert before we even received our main courses. I am hopeful they were just very busy with holiday parties, etc.. I will go back once more expecting the service to be better before I rule it out entirely. Pros: Food, Ambience, Friendly Cons: Slow/no service more

Best in Main Line 11/13/2002

My wife and I have adopted Tango as our favorite place to dine. This restaurant excells in all categories with unique menu options and superior service. My favorite is the extensive 70+ wines by the glass list. Try the cream of mushroom soup and try to save room for a wide variety of delicious desserts. more

I love this place 11/6/2002

I have gone to tango more times than I can remember and every single time I have been there the servers are great (dining room and bar). They seem happy to be there, they make great drinks, good food and an all around pleasant time, everytime. more
