Tacos Garcia Mexican Caf

The food is ok. The wait staff was just ok. They nickle and dime you for everything! I was shocked to see everything they charge for (different sauce, cheese, sour cream etc). It's like you get a basic meal and then if you want the fixings you pay more. Weird and we probably won't go back. more

Hi, I recently visited this restaurant while passing through Amarillo. It was recommended by everyone we spoke to around town. We had to wait for a while to get seated, but it was well worth the wait. The server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the New Mexican Green Enchiladas, absolutely like their Santa Fe counterparts. Delicious! My husband ordered the Chile Rellenos Lampriados, an original looking plate, lite and tasty. I am not sure where you usually dine, but maybe your palate is just used to a different type of Tex-Mex. We've been living in Austin for a short time and have discovered Austin's lack of tasty Mexican food, which they seem to LOVE. It's awful here. But...we found out that there is a Jorge's here, a direct link to Amarillo's Tacos Garcia. We could not be happier. Please don't be a hater! The restaurant is popular for a good reason. more

I do not really understand what all the fuss is about. We have several friends who just love this place. We have been several times, and have yet to find anything that we like even a little. The atmosphere is great, it is a beautiful place, but the food is just not good. I cannot recommend this place at all. more
