It is unfortunate that TrippingAnn or she is also going by Out the door, had such an unpleasant experience at THE aRT OF HAIR. We feel the need to explain our side of the situation after being slandered through such a dramatic and exaggerated review of what really happened. The first time she came in for a color consult, she was shown a variety of color swatches and she loved the copper shades. The day she came in for her color she brought in a photo of a celebrity who had a golden copper base color. The application was done by one of our stylist and her hair color was beautiful. However, the client had unusually fine hair around her hairline by her bangs so the color was a little intense in that one area. The owner suggested that she stay for us to wash her hair a couple of times because we used a deposit only color that acts like a stain and lightens with every shampoo. It would have only taken a few shampoos at the hairline for the color to match the rest of her hair completely. The client felt that if it would calm down after a couple of washes she would do that at home. The owner made it clear to her that if for some reason her hairline was still more vibrant after a couple of shampoos that she could come right back to the salon and we would gladly take care of her. She claims that our stylist had her back to the mirror while she was getting blown out so she couldnt see what her hair color looked like, however if you have been to TaOH, then you would know this is impossible for there are mirrored stations and behind the mirrored station is a brick wall lined with a huge wall to wall mirror making it completely possible for the client to see their hair even if the chair is turned away from the station. No one was trying to hide her beautiful color she had just received. When this client left the salon, she left with a big smile saying how much she loved her new color. After going home the client called us and said she wanted to come back in so we can adjust the hairline color by her bangs. We got her in right away and for her convenience, we stayed after hours to get the job done because it was the best time for the client to be seen that day. However, after a huge smile and saying I absolutely love the color she now decided she didnt like the color and wanted us to recolor the entire base color. Because customer satisfaction is our number one priority and we want everyone to love their hair, we gave her another full hair color application and a haircut at no charge. Our owner was not in the salon that day but is completely dedicated to her clientele and staff that she always extends her 14 years of knowledge even on her day off. Our stylist wanted to make sure she would be reapplying a color that this client would be happy with, so trusting our owners expertise we asked her to formulate a color via email, (yes, shes so good all she needed was a picture emailed to her and she could send us back the appropriate formula to use.) After this clients second application was finished she said she thought it looked much better than the day before, and it did come out BEAUTIFUL! After reading the reviews she left, we were quite surprised that she would be so harsh to us after we tried everything to satisfy her. THE aRT OF HAIR does not wing color formulations, we take our time and even ask for help if we need it to make sure our clients color comes out great. As for the cut, Im sure if the client would have asked for a different cut; our stylist would have been more than happy to switch up her style then give her the inch off she had requested. We apologize that your experience here didnt meet your demands but we hope you understand the lengths our stylist went through to make sure your color came out great.
