I visited San Antonio for a month and went to many sushi restaurants. The menu at Sushi Zushi was much more extensive and exciting than most other places, and the wine/sake list was great. Unfortunately, the sushi had a weird taste to it. It took a few pieces to figure it out, but it was the rice. I'm not sure if the chefs are trying to create a ""mexican-japanese"" sushi combo, but the rice they use is definitely not the correct type/flavor. I'm a ""modern"" sushi eater who likes creative rolls; I may not like jalepeno in my sushi, but I respect other people's right to order it. But you can't mess with the basic formula...i.e. the correct rice....and expect it to taste right. I was very disappointed, because the location, atmosphere, waitstaff were all great. I will never eat there again, and would not recommend it to anyone who eats sushi on a regular basis.
Pros: Great location, menu, ambience
Cons: Sushi was horrible
