Review content:
My husband, 6 year old son, & I ordered sushi from the Stone Oak location on Jan. 27th. The 4 rolls we ordered were the California, J, Teo, & Rainbow. Around 1AM both my husband & I began throwing up uncontrollably. The next morning neither my husband nor I were in any shape to go to work as we were both still sick & unable to leave the bathroom for more than 30 minutes at a time. I woke our son up for school assuming that he was fine. Just as he was sitting down to eat breakfast he began throwing up as well. My husband called Sushi Zushi & explained to a manger what had happened. The manager said that the fish they use is one large piece of fish & that no other customers had complained of sickness. Both my husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and been trained and certified in food safety. Just because one large piece of fish is used and no other customers reported getting sick does not disqualify the possibility of contaminated food. The contamination could very easily have come from a dirty knife or cutting board. Plus these ""large"" pieces of fish do not last forever. We could have been served sushi made from the last part of a fish that was left from the previous day. The manager said that he would report it to his district manager and that we should hear back the following day. We were not contacted over the next two days so my husband sent an email to comments@sushizushi. To this day we have never been contacted from anyone at Sushi Zushi on the store level or the corporate level. We have lived in San Antonio for almost two years and eaten at Sushi Zushi over 20 times and never had a problem with the food. The service and wait staff does leave something to be desired but the food has always been up to par. Due to the lack of customer service regarding this matter we will never eat at Sushi Zushi again. With the amount of competition moving into the area Sushi Zushi needs to rethink their customer service attitude. Cons: Lack of customer service
