Take the sushi making class!! I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday after seeing the episode of Throwdown! with Bobby Flay. Offered once a month, it's the best hands-on sushi making and eating experience you can ask for! The fish was so fresh, I can't wait to go back again. Sushi Central truly is a cut above the rest. You won't be disappointed. The class: Phillip Yi is informative, entertaining, and an excellent teacher. As a ""student"" you get an in depth lesson on sushi history, etiquette, and preparation while you watch the day's fish and sushi rice are prepared before your eyes, then it's hands-on sushi making time! Everything you need is provided, so just bring yourself and your appetite! Call a head to reserve your space as the classes are purposely kept small. Oh- and his spicy tuna rolls are to die for! Don't be fooled by a sushi place in a strip mall. The best thing about this place is that they have something for everyone. If you don't want sushi, order one of their entrees or salads, which are very good. My favorite is the beef ribs, which comes with rice and a salad. The owners know sushi and have a great selection, they have a 4 seat sushi bar. Great for take home or to bring to a party. They do onsite catering too. Highly recommended. Sushi Central was a wonderful discovery for me. the service is great and the sushi chefs are super friendly, unlike most places. Educational experience on the food you eat if you sit at the bar. They also have a great selection of fish on a daily basis, always fresh and tasty. I enjoy the spicy tuna, packed with spice and flavor. And the ONO is so good.... mouth watering. and of course, they're the only place with monkfish liver served the special way.. making it one of my new favorites. If you're lucky they have LIVE SWEET SHRIMP! and I'm not joking when I say its really live, kicking and screaming until it enters your mouth. Real sushi here. As far as for the cooked food, the beef short ribs are to die for and the chicken teriyaki is comforting and addictive. Pros: great sushi. more

This restaurant is great !! It has the widest choice of fish I've ever seen. Just skip your usual tuna or salmon roll and try some of their Ono, Yellowtail, Albacore and Agi. These are my favorites. Have them for sushi or for sashimi. The fish is always very fresh and it's worth trying and comparing their refined flavors. \r Don't forget to start your meal with tempura (shrimp/veggies or both, the sweet potato, hmm), or grilled vegetables (the red pepper slices are wonderful). If you like meat, have the short ribs, they're super savory, served hot, and the rice that comes with it has some of that wonderful sweet sauce on it too.\r And if you're still hungry : try crab (very delicate) or squid sushi ! \r I also recommend asking the owners, they're very very friendly and always give very good advices. The service is great: do not hesitate to ask for advices. For me, the Ono sashimi and the monkfish liver (yes !)are the best meal to ask.\r I love their Shrimp tempuras also.\r more
