Don't join it! 4/18/2012

Don't join it unless you are sure you want to be a member FOREVER. My experience: when I visited the gym, no one ever mentioned a word that if you want to stop your membership within two years, you need to pay a termination fee about $200. All you hear is that $10 per month. I only found out when I moved out of Quincy and wanted to cancel the membership. I waited until my 2-year term was fulfilled and then I found SuperFitness does not provide any contact info to public to cancel the membership. All you can do is to send a CERTIFIED mail to cancel your membership. ARE YOU KIDDING? Even IRS only recommend tax payer to send certified mail. I did send a mail but they still kept charging me. The last thing I could do to protect my money was to cancel my credit card. You know what? SuperFitness sent me an email right away with a delinquent fee charge. It is so RIDICULOUS! Please note, they never disclosed any fee charge under client's awareness. SuperFitness is my worst shopping experience I ever have, truly! For someone really need to cancel your membership, here is their contact information when they asked for a fee. Email:office@teamsuperfitness?com, telephone: 617 328 3314 . I hope someday they could do business without cheating. more

Superfitness stole from me 10/19/2011

Superfitness in Quincy stole money from me. I requested they cancel my account and the insisted I pay to send a letter to them in addition to the several emails I sent them. I requested they not remove money from my checking account, they agreed and a week later took more money out of my checking account. Now they refuse to refund me. I will continue to post notices like this until they agree to refund the money they took from me. more

Harassment 7/11/2011

I probably would have entered into a membership with this gym. We went for the workplace fitness challenge and if I had known they were only in it for the membership I would have not have participated. I get voicemails all the time about membership for the gym and the challenge is not even over yet. Major turn off, The harassment for membership is uncalled for. more

Super fitness 4/27/2011

It's the most Dirty gym I ever attend. All equipment is out to date. No a/c . Place smells like urine .\r I was trying to cancel my membership even by e-mailing one way tickets to Russia to the Quincy office. But it was not accepted ( and I was moving more than 50 miles away!!!).\r And my credit card was charged until I put dispute on their charges. \r I don’t want to pay even 1cent for the place where I can not breath and work out . \r HORRIBLE!!!!!\r more

Lots of problems 2/26/2011

Most of the staff especially Dave is always friendly and helpful. There has been a major change since Jean and Antonio have taken over the cleaning. The place is spotless. Also if you need a trainer, Dwayne is the best. \r \r Besides those staff members, the rest are not helpful, arrogant and basically blow you off if you have any questions. \r \r Membership sales and deals are not consistent. You can sign up one day for one price and the next day you are paying more/less, one day a class is included in your membership, the next it isn't.\r \r The machines are consistently broken. Its very hard to find the weight you looking for. \r \r Overall its not somewhere I would recommend. I will be looking for another gym when my contract is up. more

Great Place to Work Out 2/24/2010

Front desk man Dave is great. Always helpful and friendly. Staff always willing to help, showers and locker room have been updated (get rid of useless hairdryers) Some machines do need updating, I never use the womens section because the machines are too outdated and freeweights are a mess, but overall I can always count on a great workout in the main gym. Longer hours on the weekend would be nice. Parking enforcement is probably my biggest pet peeve. Too many people park there that dont use the gym. Pros: Great Staff, Good crowd, machines always available Cons: upkeep on cleaning machines, update womens gym more

Fine for the money 12/6/2009

I know you can't complain about the machines not really since there are three or four sets of the same exact machines not to mention the hammer strength versions as well(besides machines don't really do much for men, so if your the metrosexual type I guess strictly using machines could help you haha j/k). There are a lot of useless ab machines up stairs, plenty of room on the treadmills, I think sometimes they slack a little on cleaning during slow hours but its not like im not going to take a shower after the gym anyways so not really a big deal to me(and yeah the bathrooms are falling apart the one true con). For the money its a fine gym yea sure it doesn't have a hot tub and a pool but get real. It's a lot better then the ymca free weight room, if you've ever been there you'd know what i mean.I wish they had a heavy bag somewhere down stairs though. I've been there for quite a while so I felt like laying down some realistic criticism and not some story like I read when girls get trashed at bars and talk about how the bartenders boobs ruined the whole night for her and her bf or temp bf or whatever it is these days lol you all know what i mean here. Pros: Free weights,Nice door staff Cons: Leaky bathroom more

super fitness 6/19/2009

This gym is a very cheap gym, but it is dirty, the people are unfriendly, half of the machines are broken, and most of the working machines are like 20 years old.... Make sure they don't take extra money out of your account. I discovered that this month they took the $29 which is the monthly fee out of my account and then took another 20 out of my account and when I called to find out what was goin on they told me to call the main office in Ohio. I then called the ""main office"" in Toledo, OH to get a recording... what a pain... I am cancelling my membership that I was already unhappy with... Bottom line -- SUPER FITNESS IS HORRIBLE!! Pros: cheap Cons: most of the machines are broken more

Go to Bayshore unless you're a meathead 1/9/2009

Hahaha, love reading these reviews. Rick, this is what people think of the gym. All the phony positive thoughts doesn't change it. Looks like the apple don't fall far from the tree.\r \r Here's the scoop, its cheap if you don't mind a contract and don't want to be pampered. If you're one of those people who go for a month and want towel service, beat it. \r \r Do yourself all a favor and check out Bayshore in Braintree. Its clean and the staff is friendly. They don't get paid strictly on memberships. Good for classes and equipment. There are a few minor issues but seriously go to one of the fancy 100 per month clubs if you actually care about those. You'll never be happy anywhere for 20-40 per month in that case. Pros: Much equipment Cons: Staff (under bad management), locker rooms, broken equipment more

very disappointing 9/25/2008

As everyone states, the gym is dirt cheap which is one of the only reasons why they are still in business. The other reason is that there just aren't any good gyms in that area of Quincy yet. Ownership is obviously disillusioned in how to run a good gym. The hires made at this gym are atrocious, beginning with management and all the way through the front desk (with a few exceptions). Most of the time there isn't anyone at the front desk, and generally the employees just hang around or talk on the phone. They have rules posted all over the gym that are never enforced, the weights are never picked up or organized, and most of the gym is pretty nasty. The areas in plain sight are usually ok, but you couldn't pay me enough to shower in the mold ladened bathroom, where the lockers are filthy, there is almost always standing water in the area with the toilet, and the overall ventilation system in the gym is practically non-existant. They had a good manager about a year ago who started cleaning things up, but he left shortly after. Simple things like paper towels (which should never run out) and cleaner in the spray bottles are often empty, and good luck trying to get someone out of their chair to change the channel on the TV. Don't get me wrong, there are about two or three good young women working at the front desk, but pretty much everybody else should be jobless. I'm sure most of the attitutudes come from the top down, but the place needs to be gutted and under new ownership to ever get me to stop in there again. Finally, the true personalities of the staff come out when they try to close about 10 minutes early every night and start screaming on the intercom. I travel alot and have been in many gyms, and I have to suggest you try and find another gym. I mean, just look at the uneducated ramblings of one of their employees from earlier this month. Pros: cheap Cons: dirty, terrible staff, wasted time trying to find weights or clean off equipment more

i love superfitness(quincy) 9/16/2008

well first off as everyone has mentioned its affordable, and at this time in life we all like that. Superfitness has a new great cleaning staff who work crazy hours and try hard. And by the way you people make it dirty. I kno we dont always have papertowels but we place the order its just t hey dont always come in on time. Everyone there now i think is nice <3 jimmy and everyone else, except one or two but i cant do anything about that, everyones not for everyone. And if you kno what your doing we have alot for you with machines, and if you dont make and appontment. Someone will help you. Alot of people have come and go believe me i kno that, but theres a reason why they left, and weve now found a pretty solid staff. And the people in ohio ""stink"" but you have to call them to cancle theres no other way but people do it all the time we just need solid proff your moving or have a health issue or what not, If we just let people quit whenever what kind of gym would we be. We want you to sucseed and reach your goals not just be lazy.Oh and you sign a contract grow up and read it first. And if people really like the classes so much enough to pay for them go ahead, Because there expensive to give out for free, but we do. You go to the gym to work out, get sweaty and lose or gain weight so stop complaining and just do it. And if anna the front desk girl whos been working there for years has ever been rude at all to anyone, hell would probably freeze over. I love the relaxed enviorment were i can feel comfortable working out. and heart the workers dwayne, mike, josh, ricky jr, big rick, dom, jon, anna, shannon, ect cool place :) Pros: :) Cons: not everythings perfect more

The gym has gone down the hill 9/15/2008

I've been a member here since 1989. Yes I Know it's a long time. Well I loved the gym for it's awesome group fitness. Lately all they've done is fire the best instructors and not replace any of them. They lie about getting more instructors as they've been saying this for months. They also have let the gym equiptment go. Not to mention they never replace the papertowels which is very unsanitary. Needless to say I'm not waiting around anymore hoping they'll get better bc that won't happen. I'm just afraid to, per the other reviews on how difficult it is to get out. Pros: cheap prices Cons: No group fitness as they promote more

No More Group Fitness 5/29/2008

I have been a member of this gym since 1992. I joined because it was close to home and inexpensive. I have remained a member so long because they had a good group fitness program. \r \r Recently the gym has changed direction. They fired the group fitness director and most of the instructors. They replaced really good classes (body blast and cardio pump) with a kickboxing class taught by musclehead. \r \r I have made many friends in the classes at this gym. Like me, all of them are disappointed in the changes and are considering joining other gyms. \r \r Pros: Cheap Cons: Dirty , lousey management more

not recommended 5/19/2008

It is OK at the beginning but be careful about the overcharge when you decide to leave it, and they steal money as much as they can! more

They are getting into shape.... 5/18/2008

Super fitness has always charged a low fee price compared to other gyms.... that is the main attraction. But recently they have beening putting there energy into making it a better experience (atleast at the quincy location).... A few of the improvements i have seen are with a few new trainers, who are friendly and eager to help youwith your fitness goals. They have bought some new equipment which is nice. They have listened further to members about what kind of classes and programs they are interested in and the reception area seems much more inviting and easier to ask questions at.\r I have never had any problems with the staff or the billing..... i did call billing and have them switch which credit card my monthly fee was deducted from and had no problem.\r It is an inexpensive gym and has all the tools you need to get/keep in shape. I will continue to be a member. Pros: Inexpensive, good trainers, plently of parking Cons: not a place for steam/sauna etc. very basic locker room more

They will steal as much as they can. 2/19/2008

I cancelled membership twice at this dump with the people in Ohio. And now they started my membership back up again after they sent me a letter verifying that it was cancelled. These people are the biggest crooks ever to do business with. If you go on the Bureau of Better Business website they give these dopes a ""unsatisfactory"" rating, what a shocker. This is without a doubt the worst place I've ever done business with. It's a joke the what they pull. Cons: They steal your money more

Cheap but stay away. You get what you pay for!! 2/3/2007

WHAT A RIP OFF!! Stay away they WILL steal your money.DO NOT GIVE BANKING INFORMATION. FYI: to cancel a membership do not call the gym... You need to call their billing agency in Toledo Ohio 1 419 476 8384. Originally I was told (when I called the Malden gym) that they would cancel it for me. And after 7 months of calling and writing letters someone finally told me to call Toledo. Check the bureau for better business and search for this company (main office is in Quincy), you will find many complaints just like mine. BEWARE!! Cons: impossible to cancel membership even at the end of the contract more

Be very careful!!!! 11/3/2006

Be very careful giving this business your banking information!! When you try to end your membership, they continue to deduct monthly membership fees and they ignore your calls and letters. Then, they turn over your 'overdue balance' to a very rude and very persistant collection agency. I have called and sent 2 letters with NO reponse from Super Fitness but with many calls from the collection agency. I am not the first one I have heard this from, so beware. They are not a good company to do business with.!!!! Pros: Cheaap Cons: Impossible to get a response from their 'business office' more

An absolute DUMP! 9/17/2006

This place is not a gym - it is a nasty dumpy warehouse that has a few fitness machines in it. They charge no money for membership and then have way too many dumpy members and dumpy facilities. The staff is rude and pretty dumpy as well. If you have an issue, they just ignore you. No calls back etc. How rude! A money maker, that's all, not a place for health & wellness. Pros: NOTHING Cons: Disguisting facility and rude/dumpy staff more
