By following the directions given by Sunset Point Animal Hospital, my dog was deprived of food and water for 24 hours and was subjected to 5 hours of confinement prior to his teet...

Best Vet, Hands down! 10/21/2010

Dr. Conrad and his entire staff, from front desk to the vet assistants are all amazing. I never have to wait to be put in a room, and once I am there a vet assistant is in there within 3-5 minutes. After they are done with the initial exam, doc is in shortly after. They make sure my cat isn't scared and they treat her with care. Dr. Conrad listens to all my concerns and comes up with a plan that will make my cat feel better and not have me go broke. The best vet I have EVER been too and I will continue to go there for years to come! more

The Best 5/18/2010

I have been taking my three dogs to Doctor Conrad's for the last six years even though there are numerous vets closer to my home. He and his staff have always treated my pets with the utmost care and concern for their health and comfort. Everyone who works at SPAH has their own pets, and it is clear each time we visit that they all cherish each and every animal that comes there for care. Doctor C. and the staff always fully explain what is happening with my dogs and to give me options for effective treatment. Sunset Point Animal Hospital and the staff are simply the best veterinary practice around (and reasonable as well). more

Lack of attention to Dog's comfort 5/8/2010

By following the directions given by Sunset Point Animal Hospital, my dog was deprived of food and water for 24 hours and was subjected to 5 hours of confinement prior to his teeth cleaning. With minimal changes to the preop directions the dogs would not be subjected to this and the anesthesia could still safely be administered. I expressed my concerns to "Dr. Cindy". She felt the lack of food and water for the prolonged time and the confinement for a prolonged time was simply not a problem and there will be no change in their protocol in the future. The teeth cleaning procedure was done with excellent results, consideration for the dogs comfort was extremely poor. Dr C is awesome!! 3/26/2010

I cannot say enough about Dr Conrad and his staff. I volunteer with a greyhound rescue group (GREAT) and he vets all of the groups incoming greyhounds. He is a blessing to the group. I have taken all of my greyhounds to him and take my current three to him as well. He listens and encourages you to research things yourself, he never ridicules or belittles and is always open to new ideas. He lends emotional support and also has been awesome about helping me out with my bill during some especially difficult times. He was kind and compassionate when my first greyhound, Bandit, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and subsequently passed away. He really helped me during that period. I trust him with my babies implicitedly and although there are probably hundreds of veterinarians closer to my home, I would never take them anywhere except to Dr C!!! more

Sunset Point Animal Hospital is the best place to take your pet. 11/20/2009

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Conrads office for 20 years. They are kind, caring and very loving to your pets. The staff has been there as far back as I can remember and that should tell you something right there. Take your Pet to Dr Conrad's. You won't be dissapointed. more

Dr. Conrad & his staff are knowledgable, caring & friendly. The best! 9/29/2009

I have been taking my pets, both dogs & cats, to Dr. Conrad for almost 18 years. He is friendly & caring & he remembers anything you've told him about your job or children. He also remembers your pets, is gentle with them, explains everything thoroughly & has a great sense of humor. Sue, his tech is as equally as caring and anytime I call with questions Cindy will have Sue call me back almost immediately. A great staff. I highly recommend Dr.Conrad. The best! more

Sunset Point Animal Hospital is the best place to go 7/7/2009

Dr. Conrad, Amanda and the staff took such great care of our cat Snuggles. She was an older cat whom we raised from fur ball kitten. She was 16 when we had to say good bye. They treated us with respect dignity and heartfelt caring. They truly acknowledged that she was very big part of our family. They made her last months happier and more comfortable. They probably extended her life by at least 6 months. We can only say THANK YOU. But it doesn't seem like enough. They are the best. Sincerely, Cindy and Vinny P. more

I feel so blessed to have found this place. 5/31/2009

We started taking our greyhounds here after being dissatisfied with another vet. This clinic is almost a 90 min drive for us (with usual traffic) but well worth it. The atmosphere is so loving and supportive. Dr. Conrad goes out of his way to explain things to the level of detail that I desire and not only does he not mind questions, he seems to enjoy them. The costs for care are extremely reasonable and I would unabashedly recommend them to anyone. more

The Best Vet Ever! 8/1/2008

I started coming to Sunset Point Animal Hospital on the recommendation of a friend & I am SO glad I did. Dr. Kevin Conrad is amazing~compassionate,knowledgeable & patient. His staff is also incredible. It truly feels like family when I take my furry kids in for appointments. The prices are very reasonable, calls are returned in a timely manner & they call to check on your pet after visits. I drive 30-45 min. to use Sunset Point Animal Hospital because they are just that good! more

Sensetive and Caring Vet Team 2/14/2008

The Team at Sunset Point has always been so kind to me and especially my dog, Kia. Dr. Kevin Conrad's team loved her from the first time they met her, especially Sue. They've all had pets of their own and know when a client has made their animal companion a member of the family. At Sunset Point, Cindy always welcomes you with a smile, you get called back if you leave a message and you get the best care for your animal friends. Your office visits are timely and the offices are kept in excellent condition. I actually look forward to Kia's vet appointments so I can see everyone at the office. It's like seeing friends! more

  • Welcome to Sunset Point Animal Hospital where we treat your pets like they are our own. As your other family doctor, we know that your pet is an important family member. We focus on: Educating clients at every appointment Handling pets with gentle and loving care Respecting and valuing our clients Dr. Tom Tallon opened Sunset Point Animal Hosptial in 1976 in its current location. In 1992, Dr. Richard Brutus purchased the practice and immediately hired Dr. Kevin Conrad as an associate. The two doctors chartered the first spay and neuter program for the Humane Society of North Pinellas. Soon after Dr. Conrad began working with Dr. Brutus, their working relationship flourished and Dr. Conrad became a partner in the practice. In 1997, Dr. Conrad became the sole proprietor. Satisfied clients and pets allowed Dr. Conrad to expand the clinic in 2008 from a two exam room hospital to a five exam room hospital. In 2011, Dr. Chris Freeman moved from Ohio to purchase the hospital and work with Dr. Conrad during his "partirement". Dr. Freeman and Dr. Conrad continue to gain knowledge and expertise in their field to provide their clients with the best information and service.
