Summit Pools

I am astonished by some of these reviews. I highly recommend Rick and his work. He did our pool for us in 2002 and the whole experience was absolutely pleasant and he delivered exactly what was contracted. After my pool was up and running, he still continued to make support calls to help me with water testing and the learning curve for using the equipment. He never charged me a penny for doing what I thought was ""going above and beyond"" in customer service. Rick, I've emailed you. I need some maintenance work done and would like to hire you to do it. Please give me a call when you can. more

Another horrible experience with Rick Silva. Hired to restore the natural rocks around my pool. Service resulted in dirty white coating on top of natural rock surface. Completely destroyed my pool. Now, his $300 service is going to cost me thousands to fix. Run, don't walk from Royal or Summit pools. Rick Silva doesn't return calls. Tried for over a month to contact him and he won't respond. Please save yourself time and money. Do NOT do business with this person. more

I too have tried numerous times calling Rick and emailing him and never got a reply, until I mentioned the BBB and contacting News8 Austin to expose yet another poor pool builder. I have been trying to contact him to come fix the ""water fall"" and some of my coping that has disappeared & cracks all around the pool. I finally got a email from him telling me my pool was out of warranty and that I was pretty much on my own! Hmmmm! How bout keeping your customers happy AFTER the screwing we got? How bout taking care of business that you poorly built? They also at one point offered a pool cleaning service, they tried to bill me for cleaning service that his guy pulls up infront of my house, sits in his truck, fills out the door tag and places it on my door! Never went in the backyard! How do I know this? I have 5 cameras outside my house and each one shows the above mentioned! Maybe Rick you shouldn't try to build your pools in 29 days and take a little more time and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! The best way to look at Summit Pools or Royal Pools or whatever name you're hiding under now, is to see it in your rear-view mirror! R. Simmons more

Summit pools went under on me not long after they finished my pool. Two weeks after I paid my last check I got slapped with a lien from a supplier. I got left with a 10K bill from the rebar supplier, took 3 weeks to contest. After tons of paperwork and getting a lawyer I did get lucky and not have to pay, nice job Rick. I didn't pay 55K to be left with that load of crap. more

This is in reference to one of the three bad reviews. Let's talk about the one who ""HAD"" a law suit against me. You lost!! You lost because you wrongfully sued me and ruined my reputation!! I had professional representatives from the National Plaster Council, APEC and IPSSA who corroborated the issue to your attorneys. The issue was that you hired a fly by night pool Service Company to maintain your pool and chemicals. Evidentially they didn't have a clue about chemical maintenance and your pool plaster was damaged which I guess is the shoddy work your talking about. It wasn?t shoddy until your pool service company got a hold of it. You can't sue him because he's gone so you come to me!! Shame on you. You lost the suit because your attorneys knew the courts would know you were wrong. That's why you settled out of court for an embarrassing very cheap low sum that was a fraction of what you spent on your attorney, right? I noticed you didn't write any reviews on your pool service company. Just because I live in Forest Creek doesn't mean a contractor can't run a decent business and make s decent living like I have for many years because I'm still in business. I'm a little offended by that!! Did you mean to say that you are above contractors? When the economy took a dump at the end of 2008 the pool industry pretty much diminished. Not a whole lot I can do about it. My partner bailed, I had to lay off 30 of my employees, I still have 8 of them, pretty much lost everything I worked my ass off for over the last ten years and in addition I got people like you wanting a free ride. Why don't we get the sympathy that all the stock holders get when they lose their stocks, life savings, and retirement? My wife and I lost everything too but I'm not looking for a hand out. Give me a break!! I sent a mass email to all the Summit Pools customers to let them know my partner & I split, and I was Royal Pools and how to contact me. I?ve had Royal Pools since 2002. No secrets here. It's obvious why you didn't get the email. The law suit is public information. Look it up and find the truth about sue happy people. By the way, there are only 12 bad issues, not 20, out of a thousand customers. I am still trying to resolve these issues. Most of these issues belong to companies I hired. These companies are out of business now but I am working with most these customers to resolve these issues. Pros: Still a reputable Company more

We had Summit Pools (now Royal Pools) build our pool and we very happy with it... at first. It now has several cracks in the pool and decking. No return phone calls or emails. Rick Silva is the owner regardless of the company name and is solely responsible for their now well deserved bad reputation. Before you build a pool, interview the owners and ask for references. Do your homework! Good luck!! Pros: Great chance to throw your money down the drain! Cons: Nothing lasts; doesn't honor warranty more

No No No! NOT ROYAL POOLS...THEY ARE REALLY SUMMIT POOLS. In the middle of filing a law suit against Summit Pools for the shoddiest pool work ever and refusing to honor the 3 year warranty, they FILED BANKRUPTCY and declared us as ""potential creditors"" to avoid paying a judgement!!! THEN they opened up again immediately as ROYAL POOLS! If this doesn't speak to the nature of RICK SILVA'S(the owner) character and lack of ethics, I don't know what else would. He is as a Slick, smooth talking snake in the grass. I am aware of 12 pools that have had major issues that were built by Rick Silva, now Royal Pools. He no longer has a crew. He subcontracts all of the work, taking his cut first and then is SUPPOSED to pay the subcontractors...good luck with that. His creditors then will call you when he doesn't pay because he says YOU have not paid him! Pull a Dunn & Bradstreet Report for Summit Pools and see his poor credit and tons of delinquencies and now bankruptcy. What is wrong with the system when a business can outright fail and owe tons of money to clients and creditors then file bankruptcy and open up shop the next day in the same exact business under a different name?! He did not file for personal bankruptcy and is living high on the hog in Forest Creek! Even his website and web address is exactly the same, swimin29days dot com, he just changed the company title. Oh and by the way, our pool took months to build and he refused to pay the $250 a day guarantee if not completed in 29 days. Another GIMMICK?! he thinks he can pour on bs to cover up his crappy work! Will do anything you need before you hand him the check and as soon as you begin he is full of BS says one thing, does another. Escavated our pool 2 foot smaller ALL around and gave us a bs story on why as if it is our fault. We fought with him before escavation to make sure it was what we wanted and he still did the bait and switch. RUN FROM him FAST Pros: GREAT at bait and switch (not a good thing!) Cons: AWFUL!!! FULL of BS uses bait and switch techniques more
