Best San Francisco FREE Happy Hour Spread! 11/8/2010

The rest of the reviews describe the decor I'm down for the booze and free bites. Run don't walk to their Happy Hour Buffet, I know that I am! For real. Two weeks ago I had my first visit to Sugar Lounge around 5:15pm. T they had a Giants game one, score one point. Two, the crowd was good looking and nice. Three- the free food was awesome, some hot chicken little sandwiches good salsa mini egg rolls on the side served in classy silver heated serving dishes! Also The drinks were very tasty and priced for Happy Hour. For the value they get five stars. So happy to be getting off work in time to stroll over to take advantage of Sugar Lounge's Happy Hour! PS The service was quick and nice. more

END YOUR NIGHT HERE!!!! 7/22/2006

SATURDAY NIGHT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! GREAT VIBE! EXCELLENT DRINKS! AND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! THE BARTENDERS WORKED AS A GREAT TEAM... AND PROVIDED EXCELLENT SERVICE! DEFINITLY RECOMMENDED... SOME OF THE BEST AND FASTEST BARTENDERS I HAVE EVER SEEN, TABATHA AND STUART/STEVE (DONT REMEMBER WHICH) WERE PHENOMONAL! more

Bartender will ruin the place and your mood! 7/21/2006

Last night was the first night I went to the Sugar Lounge. The decor was amazing, the people were cool, and the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, the bartender (Tabitha...I believe that's what her name is) ruined the whole experience for me. She was extremely rude and seriously had no business behind the bar with that sour attitude. My friend asked for a tall, and immediately she rolled her eyes and threw out the ice as if making that request was such a hassle. Considering that the bar wasn't even full and that she relies on tips for a living, the last thing she needed to do was act that way towards a patron. Other than the aweful bartender, everyone else that worked there (the DJ, barback, and doormen) was awesome! I'd go back only if another bartender was working. Pros: Atmosphere, Music, Varity of Liquors Cons: Tabitha the Bartender more

best bar and the best staff i've seen yet!!!!!!!! 7/21/2006

it was great no other word could explain it. First we get there and it didnt seem ta be crackin, but we gave it ah little time an before you knew it BAM BABY it jumps off into this madness of people and goodtimes the staff was fast pass but still professional i don't now about these other people but our bartender, i think tabitha was her name, was awesome. the male bartender provided great conversation and brought the skills to the table but the star of the night had to of been the barback. that kid works harder than any body i've seen behind a bar and when it got to be to crazy for the bartenders he got right in there and started taken orders by far i will return to SUGAR again and again 5 stars in my opnion oh and ladies that star i was talkin so much about is available. Pros: the entire show 2 thumbs up Cons: i only have 2 thumbs more

Good after-work haunt 6/18/2006

Free appetizers at happy hour and tasty drinks. Small but fun lounge. Good place to stop for a drink and meet friends. Pros: happy hour Cons: small more

Good happy hour 6/12/2006

Tiny little space but very swanky. I like the chill after-work crowd and they have a nice happy hour spread, as well as little chocolate treats. Drinks aren't cheap, but not totally overpriced either. I'll like this place until it gets well known and crowded. more

Yah, I dig it 4/30/2006

Just the right size, right crowd, good music, nice free eats and stellah service. Premium selection of solid liquors, many I have never heard of, but all I plan on tasting sooner or later. Asian bar manager is a cool guy and made our night with a few special concotions. The bar tab was reasonable and worth it. We'll be back soon. Pros: music, free eats, service more

Cool little place with good happy hour snacks 4/24/2006

It's a tiny little bar, but it has a very nice, mellow vibe. I'm a total cheapskate, so what really draws me here are the free happy hour snacks. Tasty little finger foods and, of course, they always have something sugary like Hershey's kisses. Yum. more

Great afterwork hang out place 4/5/2006

It's a great place! nice bartender, crowd, atmosphere, and they provide really really good fingerfood and chocolate. price is really reasonable as well. Pros: decor/atmosphere, food Cons: parking more

Perfect Atmosphere! 4/2/2006

This is definatley a place to go and check out. It's just the perfect size (not too big like a club) and always seems to draw the right crowd. Usually early 30's to early 20's, all respectfull and fun patrons. Service is always excellent along with the bartenders extensive mixology knowledge. Decor is intimate and the prices are reasonable. Make this either your start out locale on a ""big"" night, or simply lounge there all night! Pros: awsome drinks, Hot bartenders, Great DJ Cons: Parking, one bathroom more

Tabitha has no business behind a bar. 2/27/2006

Great vibe at Sugar; decent music, TERRIBLE SERVICE. I have no personal beef with this girl, but damn, on two separate ocassions I waited 20+ minutes for a round. Granted, the place was two deep, but this girl fumbled with pours, popping caps, and keep the bar in order. When faced with orders of 4+ drinks, she balked, then made up ficticious prices. We paid $40 for four Grey Goose martinis, two Pacifico's, three shots of Corazon, and a Lemon Drop. She hurts the business and her co-worker's ability to make big tips. Truth be told, Sugar is almost there, but not quite... more

Cozy, mellow sexy space... 1/19/2006

Been to Sugar twice... and will go back several more times! It's not the place to rock out with your crazy group of friends for a wild nite out on the town.. it's meant as a pit stop to enjoy a couple cocktails and actually ENGAGE in a conversation. Music was good, but I'm known to be partial towards lounge/house.. although speakers need 2b fixed: too much treble, ouch. Dim lighting made everyone look good, ample stools, few couches, tiiiny nook crammed in the back for you lucky threesome who gets there first.. plenty of free snacks (cheese, crackers, breads, veggies) provided. Bartenders were great, although we didn't attempt to order wine and stuck w/ reg cocktails. Try it! Pros: you'll get a seat, cozy lounge, free snacks! Cons: can be too quiet, not much else around more

Pre game 1/14/2006

I went with my girlfriend before a long night out on the town. Nice and cozy, perfect 1st date, or quiet evening out. Great mixed drinks, especially the Mojito. Friendly staff, when we went it wasn't very croweded which was a plus. more

Total rip off 12/13/2005

First of all, the service was snotty, the drinks were overpriced (and not even that tasty waaaay too sweet), those lamps on the wall are ugly and THEN the bartender tried to rip me off. $45 for three drinks? I dont think so. I had to ask for an itemized receipt and then she realizes her mistake. Idiot! Pros: No pros Cons: Snotty service, Overpriced more

Just don't ask about the wines... 11/26/2005

Great Ambiance. Was disapointed in the lack of a wine list, and the lack of wine knowledge from the bartender, who didn't know what sparkling wine was, or how it differs from champagne. She was very nice, despite that. Would recommend a crash course in oenology for the bartender and perhaps a wine list to take the pressure off her. Pros: ambiance, snacking nuts Cons: unknowledgeable staff more
