Suburban Furniture

When refurnishing our living room, we went to every furniture store in the area and ended up at Suburban Furniture, mainly because their website was the most extensive. Luckily, we found a great salesperson with many years of experience, Pat Baron. She spent a lot of time helping us navigate through all of the styles, finishes, textures and fabric patterns. We are more than delighted with our new living room. It is a nice mixture of old and new with an eclectic combination of different styles at a cost that was more than competitive. more

It's nice to see one of the few local furniture stores still going strong. And Suburban Furniture deserves it. Why do I shop there? They say what they do and do what they say. Fair prices. Great sales people...very helpful, and not pushy like at some of the big box stores and chains. Incredible selection. You get inside and can't believe the variety. Customer service is bar none the best I have ever experienced. The arm on my sofa was squeeking. They had it fixed within a week. I'm not usually one to write things, but Suburban Furniture has always done right by me. Thank you Suburban! I wish you all the best in these tough times. more

Stay far far away from here and don't deal with Scott he is a liar and cheat! I went in to buy my mother a Christmas gift trusted my sales man nice guy but still a sales man. The chair was on sale for $1000.00 from $1200.00 not bad but after I got home sears had it for $669.00 no problem they would match the price cool :) then told me they no longer had it in stock? After I was told it was and I could pick it up after 12:00 but after the price match it was gone and would have to be ordered Mmm I call BS! So I cancelled the order and got from sears. If you deal with them don't deal with Scott and do your homework first! more

Suburban Furniture in Succasunna on Rt. 10 is the best place to shop for furniture. If you haven't been there...go. Very low pressure. Helpful. Furnished three rooms in my house in one weekend. Great prices. Delivery men especially great. They helped me move some things around that were to heavy for me. I was recommended to them by a friend of mine. I would recommend them to any one. I don't know why I was surprised but they had a lot of fresh, new styles. Two thumbs up. Mary. more

If you live within 30 miles of Suburban, you should be shopping there. I shop there. My parents shop there. My wife's family shops there. Our friends. Why? Because they treat us right. Great furniture for the everyday person. Not high end, not junk. Great value for the buck. They're straight up, no rip off. We pick what they have in stock because we don't like waiting. We're talking no more than a day or two for delivery. And a shout out to their sales manager Rob. There was confusion with our order last time and he worked it out perfectly. That guy knows his stuff. Anyway, you get the point. You're an idiot if you don't shop there. more

Their selection is incredible, not the blah, blah, blah stuff you see at the big box stores. And they have extremely fair prices. Had some service issues on a few pieces. Nothing that they didn't take care of within days. Definitely a local store you can trust. I send everyone I know there now. I wouldn't go anywhere else. more

4/25/2011\r I had a terrible experience with Suburban Furniture store on route 10.\r I went into the store with my husband and was told we could finance the entire purchase to later find out this was not true. Furthermore, I was told I had to put 10% down then that changed to 30% down. I was initially told that I need to put about $500 down on the purchase. I was given one price on the phone and another in person and so many errors and changes with discount prices. I left the store as my head was spinning and did not trust anything I was being told. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager. Scott got on the phone and proceeded to assist me but I don't think he was a manager. I advised him that his sales persons should advise you of what their policy is regarding financing and down payments BEFORE they adivise you to apply for a card and mislead you into believing you can finance your entire purchase. I just had the most amazing experience at Suburban Furniture. I just recently divorced and needed furniture fast. Suburban Furniture had almost everything I wanted in stock, and at an awesome price. One couch I wanted was out of stock so they gave me a loaner couch while I waited. The salesperson was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I wouldn't shop anywhere else. more

After loosing all our belongings to a fire, we had to buy all our furniture over again, being new to the area we didn't know where to shop for good quality furniture, and the reason why we gave them our business is not only because they have great furniture but they donated a sofa and a couch to my family when we were left with nothing. I love my furniture and the service that was given to me.. Thank you Suburban. more

As a single woman I was pleased to have a woman salesperson with decorating experience. She helped me select a living room that worked with my existing carpet and paint. The furniture was in stock and I received it two days later. Prices were good and I financed the balance with a no interest loan for 12 months. more

I'm surprised. That other person must have had an isolated experience. My family has been shopping at Suburban furniture for years. We would never go anywhere else. Their prices are great and they don't sell junk like a lot of furniture stores these days. The quality we have always received has been top notch. We just recently shopped for a lift chair for our mother who is elderly and not able to get around. Our salesperson was sensitive to our needs and treated my mother with dignity and respect. They delivered the chair the same day. There was a small problem and the same Michele the other person was talking about had someone out the same day as well and it was taken care of. She's great as is the rest of the staff. Sorry the other person had a bad experience. It's certainly not the normal. Mary Anne more

I don't even like to give one star when a company is dishonest. The short story is that although their product is generally decent, their methods of sales are less than honorable. I went in the store with a flyer to ""save the sales tax"" which would have been about a $50 savings. I didn't have the flyer with me when we wrote up the paperwork and they told me ""it's not good for this purchase"". When I went home I read the small print and there was no reason for it to not be good. I called the manager, Rob Watterworth, who made up excuse after excuse (none of them indicated on the flyer) why the discount wouldn't apply to my purchase. The next day I filed a complaint online with the Division of Consumer Affairs. I stopped my the store at the end of my work day (still in my uniform - I'm in law enforcement) to speak with the manager again and advise him of the complaint I was filing with DCA. He said they already changed the ad and he would give me a the credit. I told him I would drop the complaint with DCA. I couple days later I discovered he filed a complaint with IA at my agency claiming I ""attempted to persuade the manager to credit me monies"" and that I ""threatened to write a letter to the newspaper to coerce him"". Clearly his complaint was made in retaliation. I start my 20th year in law enforcement this week - I can't believe anyone would think I would risk my reputation for 50 bucks. Anyway, stay away from this store. They'll pull you in with ads that they never intend to honor. Cons: Dishonest more

We recently purchased a new dining room set from Suburban. After opening up the table to store the leaves, parts fell off of the table. Screws also fell out of the bottom of the chairs. We accepted delivery of a replacement table as well as the offer to fix the chairs. The second table came and there was a large splinter of wood on the side molding. I spoke with two managers Michelle & Rob Wateworth. I agreed to a third table to be delivered only after I was told "my standards were too high". The sales manager Robert was curt, discourteous and unaccommodating. He could not give me a 4 hour morning appointment window even after the first manager Michelle agreed. BUYER BEWARE!!!! more
