I went there after desperately needing a change in hair style. After reading the reviews, I made an appointment with Christine, the owner. The staff was super nice and attentive. Christine gave me the best haircut of my life. I walked out of there glowing and smiling from ear to ear. They were not pushy at all with products or services, and I really felt like they knew what they were talking about. I got so many compliments on my hair already! I would definitely recommend the salon to anyone. And I'll definitely be going back! Pros: Parking, service, great stylists more

Studio Z was the worst place I have ever been to in my life. I walked out of the place with my hair burnt. When CC did my hair she had an attitude, she was not friendly, and rushed me out of the chair like I was an animal. They pressured me to buy products that they had no knowledge on. I asked a question and everyone was just looking at me like I had 4 heads. I would not recommend this salon to my worst enemy. Seriously the ends of my hair are fried from the amount of time the bleach stayed on my hair. I HATE THIS PLACE WITH A PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Although I've lived on 35th Ave in Bayside for over 5 years, I had been going to Christie & Co for my color and cut. Big BIG mistake. I was always disappointed at Christie & Co because it was insanely busy and I felt that nobody cared what I had to say. They rushed you through everything and often times I was waiting for long periods of time in between color, wash, cut and styling. At the end of last year I decided to check out Citysearch, saw the great reviews that Studio Z had and decided to try them out. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The staff was very attentive and the overall environment was relaxing. CC did my color...it came out so beautiful..I wanted to cry!! She took me back to my natural color which is exactly what I wanted...the glossing treatment she recommended saved my hair (it was so fried from previous highlighting). Eunice cut my hair and did an amazing job. She put in lots of layers and explained how she styled it so I could do my hair at home. And nobody pushed the products on you..which is a refreshing change. I'm actually going back tomorrow and will continue to go there as long as I live in New York! I have been a loyal customer at Studio Z for over 5 years and I have always been impressed with the constant evolution of my hairstyles, color and now beautiful long, thick hair extensions. The entire staff always ensures that I leave fully satisfied with the most beautiful cut, color and style. I have been getting hair extensions to add thickness to my hair for about two years and I absolutely love them - they are so worth the money. This morning I walked into Salon Z to get a typical haircut and walked out w/ beautiful hair extensions that I've always wanted. I started my morning off with a facial - they use all Aveda products - and then intended to get a haircut, but quite spontaneously opted for the hair extensions after consulting with the stylist and owner, Christine. She was extremely professional and understanding of my budget and obviously highly experienced. I was thoroughly impressed. I'm the type of girl who has never paid much money for a haircut nor do I do much with my hair, and today I walked out of that salon feeling vibrant and gorgeous. The entire staff was welcoming and made me feel right at home. Many of the salons I've been to in NYC are quite pushy and are constantly trying to sell you their products or services and I never felt that pressure at Studio Z. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. Especially if you've always considered hair extensions, just go do it. I paid $400 and that included my 60 min. facial, extensions, and haircut. I have been going to studio z for over six years. Everyone has always been very professional and super friendly. I used to color my own hair but after having it done by cc and the staff at studio z i will never go back to doing it myself again. Over the years i have gotten countless compliments on my color and how natural it looks. CC is just great. From the first moment you meet her you feel like you've known her forever. She gives great, honest advice on color. For my haircut i normally go to Eugene who does a phenomenal job but i have had good experiences with just about everyone working there. My friends and I went to Studio Z for our prom. I'm extremely picky when it comes to people blowing out my hair especially when it's too ""poofy"", but Tatiana did an amazing job and it was perfect. Eugene did my friends updo, and it came out awesome, she did half up and half down with spiraling curls. Eugene also did both of our makeup in a tasteful way that didn't make us look like hooches. and not only did we have our hair and makeup, but our nails were done as well. Studio Z was the one stop perfect salon. While we were there this girl was getting extensions they looked so natural.....not like some people. I have to tell you that my experience at Studio Z was TOP NOTCH... Beside the decor being beautiful. The staff was amazing. Owner Christine Zeoli could not have been more professional and took time to help me decide on a style that worked for me. Suzanne and Nicole were gracious and professional as well. I've recommended their services to everyone and not one person was disappointed. Stephanie at the front desk was accomodating by helping me schedule my appointments around my needs . The products they used on me were unbelieveable . We love Aveda.... and I can't forget about the boutique... I had my extensions done by Christine and I couldn't of been happier. Not only did my hair come out fantastic, I had fun while she was doing it. She makes you feel so comfortable like your the only one in the salon. The people that work there are friendly and always willing to answer your questions. I have gotten my extensions there before and I could never see myself going anywhere else. They look so natural, I couldn't be happier. This salon is what I have been searching for!! I had disasterous to mediocre haircuts for the past year and never left fully satisfied. I ended up calling Studio Z at 6 and they squeezed me in for a 7 appointment. The staff was super friendly and very nice (not in the fake way either). Steph was my hairdresser and she was awesome. I have long hair that was damage severly by my last cut (DAM YOU CHRISTIES!!). She managed to maintain my length for the most part and gave me beautiful soft layers that framed my face and are easy to style throughout the week. She hadn't even finished drying my hair before I made an appointment for next week to get my hair done for a party. The price was under $50 and they honor their coupons. Oh and mention you found them on citysearch and they'll offer another coupon! I LOVE this place! If you are tired of paying Manhattan prices for quality high style hair, this is the salon for you!!! Not only is Suzanne the best colorist I have ever had and Christine the best stylist, the prices are so beyond great, that you walk out every time with a HUGE smile on your face! Not only do you look great, it will be for less then you have ever paid in NY! Besides the color and cut being so terrific, the manicures and pedicures are as good or better then any spa you have been to. I have been going to Studio Z for years, and I know people who drive from as far as New Jersey and Ct because it is so worth it. Studio Z did my whole bridal party's hair and makeup for my wedding and it was better then I could have imagined. I highly recommend Studio Z!!!! I love this salon because of it's atmosphere, and friendly helpful staff. It's not a snooty stuckup salon, they make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I don't have a specific hairdresser because i can never make up my mind and stick to a schedual so whenever i'm in the mood or have time for a hair cut, i just walk in and make an appointment for whoever is available, i'm happy with whoever i get because i feel like they all work the same, with still keeping their own spunck to the haircut. While i'm there and i feel like getting color done or a manicure, they will fit me. I don't get upset with whoever i get becuase they all do a wonderful job. I went in for a consulation and the colorist CC must have lasted almost 1 hour with me going over what color would be best. I really felt like it was important to her that I be happy with the color I did. I had 2 elixir treatments which have left my hair feeling strong and healthy. The salon is beautiful, clean, and spacious and the staff is warm, friendly, and professional. One of the things I noticed is that every single client in there has Beautiful Hair!!!!!!! I would recommend this salon to anyone. I will return and leave a review after I have my hair colored tomorrow. more

Being new to the neighborhood, I tried many of the salons nearby. I must say that Studio Z is by far the most impressive place; in their work, professionalism, atmosphere and appearance. I also bought along my girlfriend who said that it was the best salon experience she ever had. We are both in our 30's so we have been to our share of salons; many of which are in the city. CC & Stefanie took care of my woman while Christine not only gave me a great cut but also made me feel like a million bucks. My girlfriend also got a pedicure and manicure. There was also the small boutique there where they sell the cutest things (she bought the jeweled sandals & assorted creams n body oils while I picked up a nice unique bracelet for an upcoming B-day). I took my friend to Studio Z for hair extensions and was immediatley impressed when walking through the door. The decor is elegant and spotless and the staff friendly and curtious. I was there waiting while the extensions were done so I witnessed a number of before and after results of the men and women and was highly impressed. Christine who did the extensions did an amazing job. My friend didn't want me to see her until the process was completed and when I did she looked absolutely stunning. I am more particular then most men when it comes to my hair and am looking forward to my next cut to see what kind of ""magic"" they can perform with me.
