Studio H2O Salon

I would not recommend this salon for a pedicure. More expensive than the $25 pedicure mills, with lower quality. The pedicure was $40 and only lasted 15 - 20 minutes at the most, virtually no work on callouses and very minimal massage. Mainly just a very expensive coat of paint. Won't go back. more

Did a pretty good job. Everything was great except I think they forgot about me under the dryer. I think I was under it way too long. more

Cynthia is fantastic. She is so detailed with my short hair. Everyone with short hair knows how quickly a nice cut can go to hell when it starts to grow out after just a few days. Cynthia cuts my hair with such care and detail that it lasts all the way until my next appointment, holding its shape and style and looking nearly as good as the day it was cut. I have had complete strangers want to take their picture with me because of my amazing hair. Cynthia is extremely talented and I am fortunate to have found her. Thank you Cynthia! more

I can't say enough about Tuan and his wife. They are great people. Being blonde I have been to many of the so called ""high end"" salons here in Salt Lake and found they can't get it right when it comes to blondes. Tuan took the time to hear about my nightmare stories and made sure I was happy with my results. HELLO, I NOW ROCK! There is one thing I noticed that stands out even above the awesome talent and that is they care about their clients. I was a brand new client and they made me feel right at home. They worked me in for a last minute appt and I found out that Tuan stays late to make sure his clients get taken care of. They care, tell them your concerns and they will help to address them. I have been going hear for years and can't recommend Lynn enough. She is wonderful. She seems to really understand the type of style/cut that will work for you and your personality or lifestyle and just gives you a wonderful cut. Her coloring is great also. The only downside is the cost. BUT, I made the mistake recently of going elsewhere due to the cost, and I ended up with the worst cut ever. I saved some money but it will be about a year before Lynn has me looking the way she did before. I highly, highly, highly recommend spending a little extra money to look your best. Lynn and Salon H2O are worth it!! Also, the service is really good. They are always on time, and have only been running late once in the 6 years I have been going there, and they called me to tell me Lynn was running 20 minutes late. more

I found this place on a last minute whim. My stylist cancelled on me last minute, and I needed to get my hair done before I left on vacation the next day! I work downtown at the Gateway Mall so I just called this salon because it was close. I called at noon and was able to get an appointment that day at 5PM. FEW!!! Now, the scary part of changing hairstylists after going to the same one for 5 years.....I was nervous and terrified of getting a bad cut before a vacation.....turns out....I SCORED WITH AN AMAZINGLY CUTE NEW HAIRDO! Maribel...my new stylist....was awesome. She took lots of time figuring out my hair type, what I wanted color wise and cute wise and listened to everything I said. She figured out my hair color with a formula I brought in, she gave me a to die for head massage and spent so much time making sure my cut was even. I love that they use Kerastase products!! Needless to say, I have already been back to see Maribel twice....super happy with the switch! more

I wanted to make a drastic change to my hair style and didn't know where to go; I wanted to try a pixie cut. I'm not a Utah native, and I've only gotten major hair changes done at a place in Clearfield, UT on the recommendation of my in-laws. Because I live in Salt Lake City, that salon was out of the question. I chose this one from a short list, and I am so glad I did. The lady on the phone was courteous and helpful with booking my appointment for later that evening. I love the location: in the Gateway Mall next to Tucanos and near the movie theatre. When we got there, we were greeted and lead to the centre of the establishment. While this confused me at first, I found it interesting that their waiting area is in the middle of the salon instead of the front. I was called to a station rather quickly, gave a few pictures to my stylist (Cynthia) for ideas, and then let her have at it. I asked if she could explain what she was doing as she did it, and she did. I wanted to know how to style my new hair, and she explained that as well. Cynthia was amazing, and I love my new hair. I will definitely be using Studio H2O again. more

I haven't had a hair cut in some time because I wasn't happy with present salon and am always afraid of trying someone new. it is simply great! I was so comfortable and they knew exactly what to do. I mostly relied on his expertise and left with a great hair cut and color. I will see you again in 5-6 weeks. more

Great Staff and Place!!! Simply designed, they treat you well, waits aren't very long, Vee does awesome pedis/manis, he gives great advice about colors, nail styles, etc...he has saved me from choosing colors that would not look good on me. I walk in and I don't even have to tell them what service I want now, that is how well they know their return customers. Pedis last a long time and the new Shellac nail polish is great, because I am murder on regular polish, within a day it would be off, but the Shellac stays on for several weeks and still looks new. I have sent my friends and family to Vee and his fellow nail techs and will continue to do so, they have all been pleased with the customer service and price. more

I am way to hard on my hands, I have a hard time keeping acrylic nails on. With in a few days to a week they start to lift and fall off. I had some friends go to Studio H2O. One of my friends talked to one of the nail techs Deena about how hard I am on my hands. Deena told my friend to bring me in and she could put a full set for me and to give it one more try. I am happy to say that with Deenas help I have had acrylics on for the last 8 months!!! Every time I would get my nails done Deena would have great ideas as far as nail designs and nail color. Every time I would go in to get my nails done I could always make my next apt. I have brought friends to get their nails done by V or Deena we always have a good time and the staff is always friendly. I recommend studio H2O, Deena and V to all my friends and co-workers. I usually go h2o for my hair cut... i mostly do walk in... whoever cut my hair they do decent job.. they know how to handle thick hair like mine... last time i went there they recomend to do pedicure since weather is getting warmer... i thought it was good idea....so i had done my pedicure with this new product call ""shellac"" or something.. it is some kind of gel dry right away...its been over 2 weeks it still look great and shiny..i absolutly love it...and the service was great... i definitly coming back for it... loooove it.... more

I have had my nails done at H2O for over a year now. Kim always does a great job. Hayley also does good work. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Those massage chairs at the pedicure stations are fabulous and so are the pedicures! I think the price is reasonable and the atmosphere is great. Go try it out! more

I get my nails done at Studio H20. Deena does the best job, My nails always look natural. I am pretty picky. I can't stand the acrylic nails because they are so thick. This is the first place where I get my nails thin and natural ... AND they don't break. It is aways a relaxing experience. more

After being referred to this salon by a friend, I called earlier on in the day to make sure they accepted walk-ins for nails and asked how much it would cost for full acrylic sets. I was told $35, which excited me because I thought I was going to a nicer salon and getting a really good deal. I went with my friend after work to the salon and walked in. The girl at reception looked surprised and perplexed that we were there and I had to explain to her that we were walk-ins for nails and that we wanted full acrylic sets. She then told us that the next available time was at later on, and for a minute I thought we would have to leave, but she then quickly shuffled us to the waiting area. I was glad that they got us in so quickly, but after we walked back to the nail area I realized that my friend was going to have to wait for me to finish before she was going to get serviced. This was acceptable because we had time to gab and catch up, except that halfway through my nails being finished the girl that was doing my nails looked over to her fellow nail specialist and asked if she would start on my friend. To which the second nail technician responded that she didn?t want to and when the first girl asked why, the second girl complained of a ?headache?. I honestly thought that the my nail technician was trying to get my friend in faster, until the two nail technicians stepped away for a brief moment and my friend informed me that she would not be getting her nails done today because she wasn?t going to spend her hard-earned money on someone that didn?t want to do her nails. She felt angry that they had argued right in front of her about who would do her nails, neither one of them wanting to. When my nails were finished we made our excuses and headed for the door, lead by my nail technician. I saw my technician whisper something so the receptionist, then the receptionist turned to me and informed me that my manicure was $45, ten dollars more than what I was originally told. Now, I think this may be because I got ?gel? nails instead of ?acrylic? (I don?t get my nails done very often, so I?m a little naive about this stuff), but I specifically asked if there was a price difference and was told no. Maybe my nail technician didn?t know that I had already asked about the price. Maybe I?m wrong, but needless to say neither my friend nor I will ever go to this salon again, nor will any of our friends. They have lost a good handful of customers probably for life. Bravo. more

Studio H2O in the Gateway Mall is the best! Every time I walk in the door I am greeted as though I've been a customer for decades. I always request Cynthia as my stylist and have never once been dissapointed. She does excellent work and her scalp massages are spectacular. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. more

I haven't been disappointed yet and that is saying a lot because I am a very picky and indecisive person when it comes to my hair and styling it. The salon is very professional and hip and Cynthia always lets me know about the latest and greatest with products and trends. She has true talent and always takes her time when cutting and styling my hair and has good suggestions as well (again, I'm very indecisive). \r \r Seriously if I could post pictures here I would, I cut all of my long hair off over the course of the year but every cut (about 5) was a very stylish and unique look that didn't disappoint in the least. My now short hair is something that I thought I wouldn't want before, but I couldn't see myself any other way now. \r \r This staff and salon in general are great. I absolutely love coming to this salon! As soon as I walk in, I feel comfortable and everyone is very welcoming. Cynthia has given me the 2 best hair cuts I've ever had! She is truly amazing and somehow knows EXACTLY what I want. I have a hard time doing my own hair, but she offers tips and tricks and always steers me in the right direction. more
