On a recent business trip to Nashville I hosted adinner at Stock-Yard. My party was greeted promptly upon arrival and led to one of the many dining rooms the building offers. Our server, Steve, greeted us promptly, offering several entree suggestions, including a wine pairing for each. His knowledge seemed impressive, so I regret not following his advice. The steak I ordered was overly charred, but more rare than ordered, the lobster tail was rubbery and tasteless. The guests who ordered the suggested items, a filet oscar and porterhouse with a specialty salad were far more pleased. The wine suggestion was also a winner. The service was relaxed, yet prompt. Formal, but comfortable. We asked for suggestions for local clubs and were guided to a local Blues club, where everyone had a blast. All-in-all, we were treated to world-class service, but food quality which fails to meet its' price point.
