This accountant was awful...Where do I start.\r \r I expect to wait at an accountant's office for a tax filing but while I was there I watched people being escorted ahead of me for ""questions"" for Bill Stearnes that lasted hours. I had a 9 o clock am appt and a 1 o clock pm flight. Since I wasn't seen until 11:30 I was late for my flight. This happened two years in a row.\r \r Then our taxes were messed up BADLY. My husband is FLE and we own two houses, one is a rental - he didn't file our rental income from our renters - a HUGE aspect of taxes that changed our refund by thousands of dollars which we mentioned several times while filing. He rushed through them so badly that he submitted them with numerous aspects that were very incorrect. \r \r We were buying a home and the lender noticed other problems - he put my husband's business expenses under ""entertainment"" and the underwriter needed a letter of amendment from Bill. We cpunted 16 calls made to the office before they finally sent it after he promised numerous times he would get to it ""by the end of the business day.""\r \r We have other bad stories including FLE writeoffs that are wildly exaggerated by Bill and scared us into thinking we were cheating taxes. \r \r The other accountant who did our taxes was very thorough and we had no issues with him but Bill Stearnes acts as if he couldn't care less. \r \r Do not use this place for your taxes!! For people whose jobs are to communicate between you and the government, their worst quality is communication. \r more

I used Stearns for several years and all was well until 2012. He was very rushed and filed extensions because he couldn't get to my taxes on time. I wasn't in a hurry, so I was fine with the extensions and late filings until several months later when I was contacted by the IRS and told that I filed my taxes late, and that they were seizing my paycheck to pay the late filing penalty. \r \r I contacted Stearns, and was he told me the extension he filed didn't go through because his fax dropped the call and he never realized it, but that he would write me a letter to send to the IRS explaining the issue. He has since stopped answering my calls, never wrote me anything to send the IRS, and the IRS seized my money.\r \r Beware!!!! more

Stearne's Tax & Accounting Team is the best accountants I have ever used. He takes the extra time to really get you the best return. My husband and I have been going to him for 3 years now, and we couldn't be happier. His rates are fair, and he knows his stuff. He is even helping me get my business tax stuff in order, I recommend him to anyone in the area, he is friendly, smart, and you can tell he really enjoys his job! If you are looking for a great accountant, this is the guy. I was just looking up his number on a Google search and saw that someone left him a 1 star negative review, and I felt compelled to signup for this service and put my 5 star review because this guy is really great, and all my friends and my husbands friends go to him year after year with no problem at all. DO NOT USE THEM DO NOT USE THEM I was referred to Stearns by people I work with. WHen I called they were more than happy to get my business and made an appointment right away. When I showed up for my appointment I saw Bill. He was very friendly but I felt VERY RUSHED. Numerous interruptions happen during my appointment. When Bill was satisfied that he had completed my Tax prep we went to the secretary he handed me two forms told me to sign and not date and have my wife sign and not date then return them asap. I returned the forms the next day and was charged $175.00 Shortly after I checked my bank and the IRS had deposited my refund SO I THOUGHT. There was no deposit. I checked the file that STEARNS had given me and found that BIL had put the wrong account number on the forms. Now I will not get my refund for at least 3-4 months this will happen with the state refund also. I went back to Stearns and was told by BILL it would only be 2 extra days to receive a refund. He claims to know this is how the IRS works. HE IS WRONG. I think I should receive a refund from STEARNS for the poor service they provided filing my refund. DO NOT USE THEM more
