I hired this company based on the reviews on this website. I should have checked the BBB first. They have a D rating. They damaged 80% of my furniture. I have a big dent in my refrigerator. I hired 3 movers but only 2 moved and the third played supervisor. I was charged additional fees that were never told to me. They charged me almost a $100 for shrinkwrap, using their blankets to cover furniture, and tape. I don't know what they taped since all my stuff was already boxed up and the ""supervisor"" just shrinkwrapped on his own, He never asked or told me there was a fee for it. They are horrible!!!! People at the company must be posting all these 5 star reviews. They don't deserve a single star. Just check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for yourself and you will see. I could have gotten an A rated company for the same price. more

I was quite satisfied with the speed (and hence lower cost) of the move. However, I only had a desk chair, a 5' folding table, 58 boxes of books and papers, a Nordic Track skiing machine, and a Total Gym 1000 exercise machine. more

Extremely grateful 7/12/2011

I'm mildly disabled and was concerned how I was going to handle the move. While I'm 95% self sufficient, I do need the extra help on occasion (and believe me when I say I hate asking for it!). I tried to have everything done when the guys came. Honestly, I think I made it to easy! LOL From the very beginning (from the time I set up the move until I was in my new apartment), I felt Starving Students and the movers went far & beyond the call of duty to handle my every need and concern. The guys even took the time to help rearrange the bedroom furniture to best suit the room because there was no way I could have done it myself. I was very, very pleased (and grateful) for going with Starving Students! more

Movers were very personable and willing to answer my questions. If I was concerned about a certain box they even tried to make sure it was on the truck and locate it if within reason. I was very happy with the service. more

This was one of the better moving experiences I've had. The phone calls before the move explaining everything that would happen put my mind at ease. My movers were very professional with their work but very caring with me. It's hard to find people that don't treat you like just another job order. I would highly recommend Starving Students. I am giving permission to use my feedback for online marketing. That's satisfaction. more

Our drivers were amazing. Arrived on time, friendly, made us feel instantly comfortable inviting them into our home, courteous, careful, treated our furniture with care & very thorough reviewing paperwork while explaining charges. I had a similar positive experience 6 years ago while moving in Alameda. In the years since, I've told many people about SS & will defintely be calling the next time we move. more
