THEY HAVE RODENTS 5/30/2008

Well i went to the movies last week to see chronicles or narnia prince caspian and something bite my foot while sitting in the theatre. i immediately started to rub at my ankle(had flip flops on) and told my friend sister, hey something bite me... she put her cell phone to the floor near my feet and to our surprise we seen a RODENT running down towards the movie screen.. we immediatley got up and i went to the hospital the doctors confirmed it looked like a animal bite and gave me a tech shot. the following day i went to the startime establishment with my medical papers and explained what happened and they said the have past their inspection they do not have mice..i explained i know SOMETHING bite me and i SEEN a RODENT. THEY JUST STUCK TO THERE STORY I HAVE NEVER VISITED STARTIME SINCE...and i once loved it....sad:(.. i didnt even want money.. i didnt want them to pay my doc bill or anythine.. i just wanted to let them know so no one else wouldnt have to spend 3 1/2 hrs at the emergency room/..... Pros: LOCAL Cons: RODENTS more

For the sake of your kids and family, DON'T GO HERE. 3/16/2008

I once loved Startime until the day i worked for them and seen the truth behind the building. Soon after the Little Bucks 99 cent store above Startime went out of business. The rodents made their way down into the movie theater and soon moved their way into the arcade, cafe, and kitchen. Many times when Myself, other employees, or customers complained to the management, they would merely have rodent traps and sticky traps set instead of closing down for a couple of days and ridding of the rodents the professinol way. The day i decieded to leave was when a large rodent fell victim to a trap behind the conssescion stand and no employee or manager would clean the large pool of body waste left behind. A week pasted before a manager forced an employee to clean it up and who knows what type of airborne viruses and bacteria had spread around the popcorn machine and candy area. Despite the obvious and crude health issues going on, I have witnessed employees selling rated R tickets to minors on weekends and Teens performing illegal deals in the theater bathrooms and the arcade. I have also witnessed many parents who have their child's birthday party at startime yell and complain about the naive and ignorant high school staff who forget things like the child's birthday cake and cut promised timed parties short for overbooking. My final word on startime is don't let your high school student work here as a summer job, your child deals with drama and gossip in school, they don't need it here. Pros: Big Parking lot Cons: Everything else more

GREAT TIME! FUN TIME! EVERY TIME! 1/15/2008

StarTime is a great place for everyone! You have something to do for ages 5 to 50. Movies, Food, Games and the Funny Farm Comedy Club. Pros: Quality Service, Clean atmosphere, ""Best kept secret in Atlanta!"" Cons: Location is tucked behind strip mall... best parking in back lot next to mini golf more

Avoid the whole experiance - NASTY NASTY NASTY 5/25/2007

There must be some health code violations when the management is ""pumping their bathroom vents into the movie theater"" as described by the manager at Star Time cinemas tonight. Other than the 90 degree heat in the first movie room on the left as you enter the corridor of filth to reach your movie room the stench is gagging. I can only think they were trying to make the New Pirates movie have more realism with the awful smells and horrid heat emitting from the room. Pros: COLD WATER Cons: STENCH FROM THE MOVIE ROOMS AND FILTH - TAKE STERILE GLOVES more

Nice family diversion; not state-of-the-art but a good value 4/28/2007

The facilities are a little dated and worn but are in working order. I took my 10- and 9-year-old for an afternoon of go-karting and mini-golf. Two rides each (two solo, two with dad) and a game of golf cost about $31 - not bad. The mini-golf (there are two separate courses) is the usual assortment of pirate ships, western towns and wild angles. The carpets are bit worn and could use some renovation. There are two kart tracks - one for ""rookies"" and another one for those 12 and older. The go-karts in both are well-used and not very speedy. The smaller track is just an oval. The longer track (solo riders must be a minimum of 54 inches tall) has a combination of hairpin turns and straights. On either track, the ride is about five minutes long. There also are batting cages (baseball and softball) which we didn't use though we saw little kids and adults practicing). We walked through the arcade, which had many modern games and a pair of air hockey tables. The place seemed to be staffed with high-schoolers, some more enthusiastic and helpful than others. On the late weekend morning we went, there were a few teenagers on the karts. The mini-golf was populated by pre-teen grade-schoolers. All and all, this was good value for the money; perhaps a good place for visiting grandparents to take the kids. The nearby Andretti race complex has many similar aspects and are more modern - but also cost much, much more. We've been to both and this is by far a better value. Startime advertised birthday parties. You're also close to some family friendly restaurants (Athens - Greek; Dreamland - BBQ; Moe's - Mexican; plus the usual assortment of fast-food places - Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks and the like.) [Review cross-posted at Yahoo!] Pros: Nice family atmosphere, good prices Cons: High-school staff not completely attentive; golf carpets worn in places; karts well-used. more

Sub par movie/game plaza 7/7/2006

This place is a typical dated entertainment complex. Lots of dirt, little service, ancient theaters with small screens. As a result, the movies are a little bit cheaper and small children get in free. The video game arcade redeems the place with with a decent variety of older and newer games. Pros: Prices, video games Cons: Not very clean, small screens, mediocre popcorn more

They've got everything 7/7/2003

I love StarTime's bar. They throw great themed parties about once a month and have a DJ every Friday and Saturday night. Although it is so big and there is so much to do, it still has a very neighborhood bar feel to it. The menu has a great variety and the food is terrific. They have a 10pm cerfew inside on Friday and Saturday nights so the teen presence is limited. StarTime is great for a first date, a group of friends, or just killing time on your lunch hour. more

Roswell diversion 6/17/2002

Besides being cheaper than most area movie theaters, Startime also packs in more ammenities than most. It's got a large bar and plenty of pool tables, an equally large game room, two mini golf courses, a go-cart track and whirly ball next door. The roomy theatres have decent sound. As an added bonus, Startime will occasionally screen local independent films as well. The only downside: Startime serves as a major hangout for local Roswell junior high and high school kids. Pros: Cheaper tickets, Game room, Mini golf Cons: Lots of feisty teens more
