Well, I’m a bit biased because I was married here in the lush courtyard of the St. Louis Hotel. We picked this location because it was very inexpensive for our 100 guest party....

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER 12/8/2008

The staff was very rude and unfriendly and the hotel added charges to my room after we'd already paid for the room. The room was not very clean either. There are so many hotels to stay at in the French Quarter I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. more

Don't stay here, St. Louis Hotel is Terrible! 12/7/2008

Terrible service. Hidden charges of over $50 on top of the price that was quoted to us. Very unhelpful staff. Manager claimed he was going to refund what was overcharged, but this never happened, so further disappointed with this rundown hotel. Don't stay here! more

GAVE OUR RESERVATION AWAY! 7/3/2008

We drove 6 1/2 hrs. from Houston to this hotel we had booked three months in advance. When we arrived they had given our deluxe queen room away. Isn't that what a reservation is for? Anyways, the rudest front desk girl in the world(Aeysha) decided it would be ok to put us in a standard double with one double bed! A shoe box! She was so mean to us the whole weekend that I was in tears upon departure. It wasn't just her though. The manger Layne promised us a better room which we never received and to comp our parking which guess again we never got. It almost ruined my vacation to the place I love except on the way home from Hotel Nightmare my boyfriend proposed. I don't want to forget that moment just the hell we went through at this hotel. They have beautiful places to stay in NO just pay a little bit more for a better place. Also, watch out for that witch Aeysha! Good Luck Pros: ok location Cons: slanted beds, rude front desk, a little noisy, lose reservations more

Horrible stay! Don't make this mistake! 1/3/2008

This last New Year's Eve we stayed at the St. Louis Hotel. We booked online and payed in full since they promised a 15% discount for prepaying online. Here's the first issue: online the hotel rates were different from the actual rates. We were charged over $10 more than was quoted online. I got a total bill and a confirmation number online and put this amount in my bank book, and when I got my statement I saw that the hotel had charged me about $85 more than the total on this confirmation! When I looked closer, I saw that they had neglected adding tax to this ""final"" price and then when we called, nobody seemed to be able to give us any information. The customer service desk referred us to a lady named ""Monique"" in their business office. We tried for 3 weeks prior to our tip to contact this person, and eventually moved on to trying to contact a hotel owner, to no avail. Multiple voice mail messages and messages left with assistants and secretaries were never answered. But since the prepay option was with no refund option, and we would have to pay anyway, we opted to stay at the hotel, hoping maybe to meet with someone in person during our stay. We didn't meet with or hear from anyone. Now the hotel stay: When you pay upwards of $300/night for a room, you come to expect certain things, like lack of mold and mildew, plumbing that works, etc. The shower head was covered in nasty looking mineral deposits, there was mildew in the bathroom where the toilet ran constantly and the bidet didn't work at all. We called for extra towels many times and never got one. There was a wedding in their courtyard that echoed up loudly to every room every night of our stay. I enjoy and respect a wedding as much as anyone, but hearing bad 80's music until after 2:30am every night is drawing the line. The beds were even hard and uncomfortable. This hotel was not worth the money nor the headache and I don't recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy a stay in New Orleans! Pros: Nice locale, friendly desk personnel. Cons: Overcharging mistakes, lack of maintenence in room, loud weddings, hard beds. more
